The question here is less how long than where the car stops, because cars cannot enter most of the Medina's lanes. Below is every realistic way in, and for each of our ten exactly where the car leaves you and who carries the bags.

Take a taxi from the kech.cab desk at the exit of arrivals: the fare is fixed by the authorities for your destination, paid before you leave by card or cash, and you get a ticket with your taxi's number. La Mamounia, Royal Mansour, La Villa des Orangers, Nobu Hotel Marrakech and Dar Rhizlane are 8 to 13 minutes away with cars to the door; at El Fenn the taxi stops at Bab el Ksour, 5 metres from the door, and for Dar Kandi the riad's own transfer is simplest. For Fairmont Royal Palm, Palais Namaskar and Inara Camp, 18 to 64 minutes out, book the hotel's car or a private transfer.

The resort stands alone at Km 12 on the Route d'Amizmiz, 18 to 26 minutes from the airport, and arranges transfers on request, the calm start for a family with luggage.

A taxi drives through the gate on Avenue du Président Kennedy to the door, 9 to 12 minutes away; the hotel runs its own airport transfers and allows 20 minutes for the drive.

Beyond the Palmeraie on Route de Bab Atlas, 29 to 40 minutes across the city, so book the hotel's transfer or a driver ahead; cars reach the door.
Agafay
The camp is alone on the Agafay plateau, 50 to 64 minutes away, so let the camp arrange the car or book a driver who knows the track; parking on site is free.
The price is fixed, by destination, by the authorities, and you see it before you pay. After baggage reclaim, signs lead to the kech.cab desk at the exit of arrivals, staffed by people in uniform. Say where you are going, pay by card or cash and take the receipt to one of the kiosks, which prints a ticket with your taxi's number and your place in the queue.
The taxis on this service are registered in advance and carry a tag on the car and a badge for the driver, and a commission set up by the prefecture monitors the fares in real time. ONDA set it up in May 2023 to end haggling at the kerb, and the system runs 24 hours a day. No official fare list is published online, so the desk is where you see the price. The online pre-booking address ONDA announced, order.kech.cab, now opens the Wetaxi site, which sells official taxis in Marrakech at fixed prices.
At three of our five Medina hotels it can. La Mamounia and La Villa des Orangers are on roads at the Medina's south-western edge, and Royal Mansour is on a street inside the western ramparts: the car stops at the door or the hotel's own gate, with no walk at all.
El Fenn is just inside Bab el Ksour. The taxi stops at the gate on Rue Lalla Fatima Zahra, and the door is 5 metres along the first street on the right; the hotel does not say it sends a porter, and with a walk this short you will not need one.
Dar Kandi is the one with a real last stretch. It is on Derb Arset Aouzal, five minutes' walk inside Bab Doukkala, and there is no car park at the riad. Cars use a guarded car park nearby, where the riad's staff meet you and help with the luggage; the riad does not publish how far it is, so book its paid airport transfer, or tell it your flight and ask to be met.
The kech.cab desk works around the clock, so a late landing still means a fixed fare and a numbered taxi. A driver booked ahead is the calmer start with children: the driver follows your flight, so a delay costs nothing, and waits in arrivals with your name.
For the three hotels out of town, Fairmont Royal Palm on the Route d'Amizmiz, Palais Namaskar beyond the Palmeraie and Inara Camp in the Agafay, book the hotel's car or a private transfer before you fly. Nothing is within walking distance of any of them, and the drive to the desert camp is 50 to 64 minutes.
Yes. ONDA's airport page says a shuttle bus links the airport and the city every 20 minutes, without giving the stop or the hours. Marrakech's city buses passed to a new operator, Supratours, in December 2025, and the airport line's number, fare and last departure are not published online, so check them at the stop.
It suits someone travelling light to Hivernage or Guéliz. For a riad in the lanes, the taxi's fixed fare to the nearest gate is the better buy.
From the Medina and Hivernage it is 8 to 16 minutes by road with the roads clear; Dar Rhizlane allows 20. Ask your hotel to book a taxi or its own car the evening before, especially for a dawn flight. If you hail a petit taxi in the street instead, the British government advises agreeing the fare in advance or checking that the meter is running.
Allow for the queues inside: ONDA says the average wait came down to under an hour after its 2025 changes.
