Why this one
Nothing on paper separates the three categories except the building and the price. The hotel's booking pages list every room at 25 square metres with a queen bed, twin beds available in the two Premium categories, a shower with double basins, air conditioning and a tea and coffee station, for two guests at most. What the manor adds is the house itself: the six Premium Manor House rooms are in the old manor next to the original winery of 1764, furnished, the hotel says, with pieces from the region and from the rest of Portugal, and each has its own sitting area, where the rooms in the terrace building have an outside sitting area or a shared terrace instead. It is the difference between staying in the estate's family house and staying next to it.
The ladder is short and oddly shaped. For 20 to 22 April 2027, with breakfast, parking, Wi-Fi and the Ferrão transfer included, the Terrace room was 310 euros a night and the Premium Terrace and the Premium Manor House were both 540, so on those dates the manor cost nothing over its nearest rival. For 9 to 11 February 2027 the Premium Terrace was 390 and the manor 480, and the Terrace room was not on sale for those nights. Both sets of dates carried a two-night minimum and the same terms, the full stay charged 21 days before arrival and kept after that. The only reasons to drop to the Terrace room are price and access.

- Ask for a manor room with its window over the terraces and the river, and say when you book that the view is the reason you are coming. If you want twin beds, ask for them: both Premium categories offer two singles, the Terrace room a queen only. If you will eat in every night, compare the Gourmet Experience rate, which adds 228 euros a night for two for a three-course dinner with at least a glass of wine per course.

If your Douro trip is about the wine and the view rather than the town, this is the estate to base yourself on. Go by train, book the manor house and treat dinner as part of the stay rather than the reason for it.
