Which room to book at Eitch Borromini Palazzo Pamphilj
The Deluxe Suite. It is the cheapest category whose page mentions the seventeenth-century floral frescoes, the panelling and the hidden passages, and at 32 to 40 square metres it is twice the Classic Room. Everything below it buys the address; everything above it buys a window, a steam room or a chapel.

Why this one
The frescoes are the reason to stay here, and the hotel's own pages put them in exactly two categories: some of the Deluxe Suites, and the 82 square metre Luxury Suite. The Deluxe Suite is therefore the cheapest rung with a chance of a painted ceiling, and it is a real step up in other ways: 32 to 40 square metres against 16 in the Classic and 24 in the Superior Suite, a king bed instead of a queen, occupancy for four, and Guerlain toiletries where the lower categories' pages list Etro. For 19 to 20 January 2027, it was 457.90 euros a night before city tax against 283.10 for the Superior Suite and 193.50 for the Classic, and the booking page also listed a Deluxe Suite King at 422.75 that the room pages do not mention.
Above the Deluxe the ladder stops being about the building and starts being about a window or a bathroom. The Deluxe Suite with View, 728.65 euros on the same January night, is sold on coffered ceilings rather than frescoes and on a view its page describes as domes, rooftops, bell towers or the square, so it can be the wrong upgrade. The Romantic Suite at the same price is the modern one, with the steam room; the Luxury Suite at 1,034.55 is the chapel. The ladder is also uneven in size: most categories are sold in larger bands than the room pages give, 37 to 65 square metres for the Deluxe Suite and the Deluxe Suite King, and 55 to 65 for the Deluxe Suite with View, so read the size on the rate itself.
- Ask for
- Ask, by email before arrival, for a Deluxe Suite with the floral frescoes rather than the panelled or passage version, since the hotel sells them as one category and says every suite is different, and ask not to be on the third floor under the restaurant. If the booking page offers a Deluxe Suite King below the plain Deluxe, ask whether it is one of the frescoed rooms before you choose on price. If a window matters more than a ceiling, ask about the two Superior Suites with View on the fourth floor, the Doria and the Santa Eugenia, which are missing from the room list on the hotel's site: one faces west to St Peter's, the other the white marble statue on the facade of Sant'Agnese in Agone.
- Avoid
- The Single Room at 12 square metres on the third floor, directly under the breakfast rooms, and the Classic Room at 16, which has the original floor and a lane in the window and nothing else the building is known for. Be careful with the Deluxe Suite with View: on a January 2027 night it was about 270 euros more than the plain Deluxe, its page gives it coffered ceilings rather than frescoes, and the view can be rooftops rather than the square.
Suites against rooms
Two suites carry something the others do not. The Romantic Suite has the only private wellness in the building, a Starpool steam room and steam shower and a circular whirlpool bath under the attic beams, and is listed for two guests only, so it is a couple's room rather than a family's. The Luxury Suite with View, the former chapel, adds a walk-in wardrobe, two bio-fireplaces, a wine cooler and a small library, and is the one category listed for two adults and two children with a window the hotel says overlooks Piazza Navona. Neither page lists a transfer, a credit or anything else beyond the room as part of the rate.

Our verdict
Book it to be inside the building: the Collegio Innocenziano, Borromini's spiral stair and the terrace above the fountain, at a four-star rate in the middle of the centro storico. Pay up for a Deluxe Suite and ask for one of the frescoed ones, take a room off the third floor, and eat breakfast upstairs.
