Which room to book at Hotel das Amoreiras

The Deluxe Garden View. It is the same 20 square metres as the Deluxe Courtyard, but it faces Jardim das Amoreiras and is the only category whose description promises the aqueduct, which is the reason to stay on this square at all. For 9 to 11 February 2027 it was about 32 euros a night more than the courtyard room.

Why this one

The two Deluxe categories are the same room pointed in two directions. Both are 20 square metres on the first and second floors, with a queen or king bed, a complimentary minibar and a marble walk-in rain shower. The Courtyard looks at the centenary olive tree, from a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows in most rooms and at what the hotel calls limited views in the rest. The Garden View looks across Jardim das Amoreiras to the aqueduct, which is the reason to stay on this square rather than nearer the old town. For 9 to 11 February 2027, non-refundable with breakfast, the Courtyard was 279 euros a night and the Garden View about 311; for 20 to 22 April 2027 the gap more than doubled, to about 68 euros, 306 against 374.

Below the pick, the Mini Deluxe was 63 euros a night less than the Garden View in February and about 32 less than the Courtyard, in exchange for six fewer square metres. Above it, the ladder is about floor area. The two attic suites on the top floor, one of each, are 35 and 40 square metres, and per square metre they are the cheapest rooms in the house: in February the Attic Suite was 99 euros a night more than the Garden View, and in April only 72, with an airport pick-up included on a two-night stay. On every rung the non-refundable rate was exactly 10 percent below the flexible one, and the flexible rate needs three days' notice to cancel a room and seven for a suite.

Ask for
Ask for a Garden View on the second floor, and say when you book that you want floor-to-ceiling windows, because the category has both those and plain large windows. Ask for a bathroom with a large window too: the hotel says most have one, not all. Booking a suite for two nights or more, confirm the airport pick-up with reservations before you fly.
Avoid
Avoid the Mini Deluxe for two people. Avoid the Deluxe Courtyard if the view matters, unless the hotel confirms in writing that yours has the balcony over the olive tree. And do not book a flexible suite expecting three days' grace: suites need seven.

Suites against rooms

There are two, one of each, under the mansard roof on the third and top floor, and both have garden and courtyard views and an oversized king bed. The Attic Suite is 35 square metres; the Deluxe Attic Suite is 40 and adds balconies. For 9 to 11 February 2027, non-refundable with breakfast, they were about 410 and 446 euros a night; for 20 to 22 April 2027, about 446 and 491. Only the suites include an airport pick-up, on a stay of two nights, and on the flexible rate only the suites need seven days' notice to cancel.

The case for them is space for the money. At February prices the Attic Suite is 75 percent bigger than a Garden View for 99 euros more a night, and in April for 72. With a single suite in each category there is no second chance, so if a suite is the plan, book it before anything else.

Our verdict

A calm, independent base that repays a slower kind of Lisbon trip. Book it when you already know the city and want to sleep well.
