This is the soul night of The Jazz Room: the same band of saxophone, trumpet and vocals, turned to the songs of Marvin Gaye. Fever lists Let's Get It On, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Sexual Healing, What's Going On and How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), and says the band adds improvisation. The set spans his whole career: his Grapevine topped Billboard's pop chart for seven weeks over 1968 and 1969, and Sexual Healing, from 1982, held the top of the R&B chart for ten weeks, according to Wikipedia. Horns and a strong lead voice suit this music, which was built on both. It is a tribute by other musicians, as Fever says of every Jazz Room, so come for the songs rather than an impersonation.

The show plays at The Cutting Room, a supper club at 44 East 32nd Street in NoMad, open since 1999 and at this address since 2013. Every zone is seated: Zone A (Premium) at the front, Zones B and C, and Zone D on the balcony, from 32.40 dollars. Seats are not numbered and go first come, first served within your zone; for this show Fever says to arrive 60 minutes early, which is when the doors open. Fever describes the room as serving craft cocktails and upscale American food, paid for at the venue.
