The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans
The Cutting Room, NoMad
An hour of 1920s New Orleans jazz, from St. James Infirmary to Hello Dolly, at The Cutting Room on East 32nd Street on 4 December 2026 and 12 February 2027. Every ticket is a seat, from 32.40 dollars with fees; 21 and over.
This is the most traditional programme of the four New York Jazz Room shows: a band with saxophone, trumpet and a singer working through the music New Orleans gave the world in the 1920s, which Fever describes as a blend of ragtime, brass and blues, mixing chosen classics with improvisation. The songs Fever names are St. James Infirmary, When the Saints Go Marching In, On the Sunny Side of the Street, Basin Street Blues and Hello Dolly. One musician runs through most of them: Louis Armstrong recorded both St. James Infirmary and Basin Street Blues in 1928, and his 1964 Hello, Dolly won him Grammy Awards, according to Wikipedia. It is a tribute played by other musicians, as Fever says of every Jazz Room.
The show plays at The Cutting Room, a supper club at 44 East 32nd Street in NoMad, open since 1999 and at this address since 2013. Every zone here is seated: Zone A (Premium) at the front, then Zones B and C, and Zone D on the balcony, the cheapest at 32.40 dollars. Seats are not numbered, so within your zone they go to whoever arrives first; the doors open 60 minutes before the start. Fever describes the room as serving craft cocktails and upscale American food, bought at the venue's bar and kitchen and not included in the ticket.
Two dates are on sale, Friday 4 December 2026 and Friday 12 February 2027, each with houses at 18:30 and 20:30, so the early one leaves the rest of the evening for dinner. The Fifth Avenue Hotel is an 8-minute walk away. For how zones, doors and late entry work across all four shows, see our full guide to The Jazz Room in New York.
