The Killer AI is the newer of the two Jury Experience cases in New York, and the one with no murder at its centre. Fever's case: a driverless car has taken a life, and someone must answer for it. Was it the programmer who wrote the code, the passenger who trusted the machine, or the AI that made the call? Fever stresses that there is no precedent and no easy answer, so every vote is a judgement about responsibility rather than a hunt for a culprit. The question has a real echo: in 2018 a self-driving Uber test car killed a pedestrian in Tempe, Arizona, prosecutors found Uber not criminally liable, and the backup safety driver was charged instead (Wikipedia). Fever says only that its cases are inspired by true events and names none.

Both dates are Saturdays at Roulette, a performance space founded in a Tribeca loft in 1978 that now presents more than 120 shows of experimental music, movement and media a year from its theatre on Atlantic Avenue. The trial is sold in four zones, and the balcony is the cheapest way in at 49.68 dollars with fees; Zone A, the best view by Fever's ranking, is 69.12. The 16:00 show ends at 17:00, early enough for dinner in Brooklyn. The content notes (a fatal vehicle accident, injury, grief and loss) are narrower than the boat case's, which makes this the case we would choose for a teenager of 12 or over.
