Candlelight concerts in Orlando

Candlelight is Fever's own concert format, staged in cities around the world, and Orlando runs it in three rooms: the Azalea Lodge at Mead Garden in Winter Park, the Orlando Museum of Art in Loch Haven Park, and The Abbey downtown, near Lake Eola. On 30 October 2026 Fever had 28 Orlando programmes on sale between 5 November 2026 and 27 March 2027, from Queen vs. ABBA and Bad Bunny to Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Mozart vs. Beethoven and The Lord of the Rings. Every one is a tribute: Fever says on each listing that the concert is not associated with or endorsed by the artist, so you hear the songs arranged for strings, played by quartets Fever names as the Listeso and Fernwood String Quartets.

The evening starts at the door, which Fever opens 45 minutes before the concert; once the music starts, no one else is let in. Seats are not numbered. You buy a zone, and take any free seat in it as you arrive, so the first in get the aisle and the front of each block. At Mead Garden the zones are Front Row, Zone A and Zone B; the museum and The Abbey add a cheaper Zone C on most programmes. There is a small cashless bar for light snacks and drinks, Fever says, and the add-ons at checkout include a souvenir seat cushion for 10 dollars.

Then the hour itself: 60 minutes of music, 65 for the Vivaldi programme at Mead Garden, with only the candles lighting the room. The Queen vs. ABBA set runs from Dancing Queen and SOS through Bohemian Rhapsody and Waterloo to Don't Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. Concerts start between 18:00 and 18:30 or between 20:30 and 20:45, with a few 16:00 matinees at The Abbey, which leaves time for dinner either side.

The three rooms are different evenings. Mead Botanical Garden, dedicated in 1940 and now owned by the City of Winter Park, is 48 acres of trails, creek and boardwalk; the Azalea Lodge is its stone-built event hall. The Orlando Museum of Art began in 1924 as the Orlando Art Association, and its building in Loch Haven Park dates from 1960. The Abbey is a live music and cabaret room on the ground floor of the Sanctuary tower on South Eola Drive, run by the Florida Theatrical Association, with a modern Gothic look and, BizBash reported at its opening, a stained-glass light modelled on the windows of Westminster Abbey, after which it is named.

The one we would book first is Queen vs. ABBA at the Azalea Lodge in Mead Garden. With 494 reviews it has more than any other Candlelight show in Orlando, and holds 4.8 across them on Fever on 30 October 2026. It plays on four dates: 20 November 2026, 6 December 2026, 8 January 2027 at 20:45 and 5 March 2027 at 18:15, from 45.36 dollars with fees in Zone B, the back of the room. The lodge is the most garden-like of the three rooms, and from The Alfond Inn in Winter Park it is a 5-minute drive or a 33-minute walk. In the same room, the Taylor Swift tribute (4.9 from 111 reviews), Bad Bunny (4.8 from 201) and the Vivaldi programme (4.8 from 172) run to February and March 2027.

The Orlando Museum of Art is the cheaper choice and the one with the most programmes: Mozart vs. Beethoven starts at 36.72 dollars with fees, the lowest price of our list, and the Beatles tribute (4.9 from 132 reviews) and Queen at 38.34 dollars. It is 8 minutes by car from The Alfond Inn, and the museum's own site says its lot next door is free. The Abbey is downtown, a short walk from Lake Eola: Coldplay & Imagine Dragons (4.8 from 260) and Hans Zimmer (4.7 from 263) play there, and it is the closest of the three to our Universal and Grande Lakes hotels, 17 to 23 minutes by car.

Be clear about the distance. All three rooms are north of the theme parks. From our Walt Disney World hotels the drive to Mead Garden is 36 to 43 minutes and 38 to 45 km without traffic, and to The Abbey 32 to 39 minutes; from Universal Cabana Bay, Loews Portofino Bay and the Helios Grand it is about 22 minutes.
