  • Duration: 1 hourStart times show in the calendar

The Jazz Room is Fever's own jazz night: a live band and singers working through songs most people know, in a room with low light and a bar, for about an hour. Fever runs it in many cities. In Orlando every show is at The Abbey on South Eola Drive, a short walk from Lake Eola, and on 30 October 2026 four programmes were on sale: New Orleans jazz, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye, and Cuba. Each plays on two nights, with houses at 18:30 and 20:30, so between them there is a Jazz Room evening most months from November 2026 to April 2027.

The evening starts an hour before the music, when Fever says the doors open. Your ticket buys a zone, A, B or C, front to back, and Fever says seats inside each zone go to whoever arrives first, at tables that are shared on most of the listings. You buy drinks at the venue's own bar; outside food and drink are not allowed. Once the band begins, the doors close and no one else gets in, and Fever asks that nobody films or photographs the performance.

Then the set. Fever lists the songs: St. James Infirmary, When the Saints Go Marching In and Basin Street Blues for New Orleans, which it describes as hot jazz, a mix of ragtime, brass and blues with room for improvisation; Fly Me to the Moon, My Way and What a Wonderful World for Sinatra and Armstrong; Let's Get It On and I Heard It Through the Grapevine for Marvin Gaye; Chan Chan and Guantanamera for Cuba. These are tributes by other musicians, with saxophone, trumpet and vocals, not the artists themselves.

The Abbey is a live music and cabaret room on the ground floor of the Sanctuary condominium tower, run by the Florida Theatrical Association. When it opened, BizBash reported a dark, modern Gothic interior of wrought iron and a checkerboard floor, a dining and presentation area seating 175, and a stained-glass light modelled on Westminster Abbey, after which it is named.

Why this one

Book A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans. It is the best-rated Jazz Room show in Orlando, 4.9 from 126 reviews on Fever on 30 October 2026, the most traditional jazz programme of the four, and the cheapest seat is 31.32 dollars with fees in Zone C. It plays on 15 January and 9 April 2027, at 18:30 and 20:30. If your dates are earlier, the Sinatra and Armstrong tribute plays on 18 December 2026 and 20 February 2027, from 32.40 dollars; it has the most reviews, 175, and holds 4.5, with reviewers singling out the band and the singers. Marvin Gaye (4.8 from 58) plays on 20 November 2026 and 29 January 2027 and is the pick for soul rather than jazz; Cuba, with no reviews yet, has one night left after 30 October, 12 February 2027, from 34.56 dollars.

The Abbey is downtown, so it is closer to the theme parks than our Winter Park hotel might suggest: 17 to 18 minutes by car from Universal Cabana Bay, Loews Portofino Bay and the Helios Grand, 23 from The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, and 32 to 39 minutes from our Walt Disney World hotels, without traffic. From The Alfond Inn it is 13 minutes.

Be straight with yourself about what you want. If you want working jazz musicians playing their own sets, the Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts at 460 East New England Avenue in Winter Park, on the same street as The Alfond Inn, listed trios and quartets in November 2026 from 21.72 to 47.60 dollars with fees, and free Thursday jam nights. The case for The Jazz Room is the hour itself: songs you know, an 18:30 start that leaves the evening free, and a seat for about 32 dollars. For strings by candlelight, see our Candlelight concerts page; some of those play in the same room.

Complaints

    The catch

    1. Each show has only two nights

Every Orlando programme plays on two dates, with houses at 18:30 and 20:30; New Orleans is on 15 January and 9 April 2027.

What to do. Pick the show that falls in your stay first, and book early: some front zones were already sold out on 30 October 2026.

    2. Seats go first come, first served within your zone

Your ticket buys a zone, not a seat, and tables are shared. A group sits together only if it arrives together with tickets in the same zone.

What to do. Buy all your tickets in one zone and arrive when the doors open, 60 minutes before.

    3. Late entry is not allowed

Fever says no one is let in once the show begins.

What to do. From a Disney hotel allow at least an hour for the drive at evening rush, and take a rideshare.

    4. Check the age rule for your show

New Orleans and Sinatra and Armstrong are 18 and over; Cuba is 21 and over, and Marvin Gaye is listed as 21 and over.

What to do. Bring photo ID, and choose Candlelight instead if you are with younger family.

    5. The fee is added at checkout

Fever shows each zone's price and adds an 8% booking fee; drinks at the bar are on top.

What to do. Budget for a drink or two each, and compare the 18:30 and 20:30 houses, which can differ by a few dollars.
