Lisbon airport pick-up points: taxi, Uber, Bolt and friends, by terminal
Every flight into Lisbon lands at Terminal 1, so every pick-up happens there. Terminal 2 handles departures only. That keeps arrivals simple, as long as you know that the taxi rank, the app cars and the friend waiting in the car each have their own spot, and that the airport's rules for each changed recently. Here is each point as the airport and the operators describe it.
The 30-second version
All arrivals are at Terminal 1. Taxis wait at the rank outside arrivals, with fixed fares into Lisbon since 15 October 2026: €16 to €23 for up to four people with luggage. Uber and Bolt pick up on Level 2 of car park P2, on the arrivals level, not at the kerb. A friend collecting you should park in P2, the arrivals car park, because the free Kiss & Fly bays are at the departures kerb and allow ten minutes with the driver in the car. The Metro's red line starts in the arrivals area and runs 06:30 to 01:00.

Terminal 1 (all arrivals)
- Taxi
The official taxi rank in the arrivals area, outside the arrivals hall
Walk out of the arrivals hall to the rank. Since 15 October 2026 trips from this rank into Lisbon cost a fixed €16 (zone 1) or €19 (zone 2) on weekdays 07:00 to 22:00, and €20 or €23 at night, weekends and national holidays, for up to four people and luggage, with no supplements. Larger taxis for five or more cost €20 to €28. Cars must take cards and MB Way at the same price and may not refuse the trip; you can also prepay with a voucher at the Turismo de Lisboa desk in arrivals. Destinations outside the fixed-price table go on the meter.
- Uber and ride apps
Dedicated Uber and Bolt pick-up area on car park P2, Level 2, on the arrivals level
Request the car once you have your bags, then walk to car park P2 and go up to Level 2; app cars do not collect at the arrivals kerb. Bolt shows the current pick-up point in its app and notes it can change. The airport's rule is to book a taxi or app ride on the spot or in the app, never with someone who approaches you in the terminal.
- Pre-booked driver
Arrivals hall, Terminal 1
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, then walks you to the car. Tell your driver your flight number so a delay does not cost you the pick-up.
- Friends collecting you
Car park P2, the arrivals car park
Friends and family collecting you should park in P2 and meet you in the arrivals hall. The airport reserves the Kiss & Fly bays at the departures kerb for quick stops with the driver staying in the car, so they do not suit waiting for a delayed bag.
- Metro
Aeroporto station, end of the red line, entrance in the arrivals area
Follow the Metro signs from the arrivals hall. Trains run 06:30 to 01:00 and reach Saldanha in about 20 minutes, where you change for the rest of the network. Tap a contactless bank card in and out at €1.92, or buy a navegante card for €0.50 and load it at €1.72 a trip.
- Bus
Carris stops near the arrivals terminal (stop name Aeroporto)
The 744 runs to Marquês de Pombal and Restauradores, and the 783 to Marquês de Pombal and Amoreiras, at €2.30 bought on board. The 705 and 208 serve Gare do Oriente, the 208 as a night route through to Cais do Sodré. The airport allows luggage of no more than 50 x 40 x 20 cm on city buses, so these suit a carry-on only.
- Coach
FlixBus: the BUS PARK, the last space in the airport car park on Alameda das Comunidades Portuguesas
FlixBus links Lisbon airport with Porto, Faro and other towns; check your ticket for the stop, which FlixBus says carries the latest details. The Coimbra Airport Shuttle offers a shared door-to-door transfer to central Portugal, booked online only.
- Car hire
Rental desks in Terminal 1, before security
Avis and Budget, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz and Sixt have desks open 06:00 to midnight, and Guerin 06:00 to 01:00. The airport says your rental car waits just outside the terminal; your rental company's voucher confirms where to collect it.
Terminal 2 (departures only)
- Bus
Free shuttle stop in the departures area of each terminal
The free shuttle links the two terminals every 12 minutes from 03:30 to 00:30, taking about 3 minutes. Nobody arrives at Terminal 2, so you only need it on the way home: Eurowings, Norwegian, Ryanair, Transavia, Volotea, Vueling and Wizz Air depart from here.
- Taxi
Terminal 2 entrance, drop-off only
Tell the driver Terminal 2 and you are dropped at the door. There is no rank for arrivals here, and the terminal is closed from 00:30 to 03:30.
- Friends collecting you
No car park at Terminal 2: use P1 (departures) or P2 (arrivals) at Terminal 1
Driving someone to a Terminal 2 flight, the airport suggests parking in P1 or P2 and taking the free shuttle across.
Being picked up by a friend: where to wait and the rules
Yes, but not by pulling up at the kerb and waiting. The airport's Kiss & Fly bays are on the departures kerb and are free for up to ten minutes, with the driver staying in the car. Within any 24 hours a car can make two separate ten-minute stops; stay longer and you are charged for parking. The airport's advice for anyone who needs more time is to use its car parks.
So the friend collecting you should park in P2, the arrivals car park, follow your flight on the ANA app and meet you inside the arrivals hall, where there are cafés while they wait. The airport publishes its P2 tariffs as a download rather than on the page, so check the current rate before you set off.
- Kiss & Fly
- Departures kerb, free up to 10 minutes
- Limit
- Two separate 10-minute stops per 24 hours
- To wait longer

Taxi or app: which is easier
For central Lisbon the fixed taxi fare has made the rank the simpler choice. You know the price before you get in, €19 by day and €23 at night to most central districts, there is no walk to the car park, and the driver must take your card. An app car makes more sense for destinations outside the fixed-price table, or if you prefer to see the price in the app. In some restricted historic quarters licensed taxis can drive to the door while app cars have to stop at a barrier, which matters with luggage.
Late at night
The Metro stops at 01:00, but the taxi rank works through the night, and the night fare is only €4 more than the daytime one. Carris runs the 208 as a night route via the airport. Between 00:30 and 03:00 the terminal admits only passengers with a boarding pass or booking, staff and crew, so a friend arriving to collect you in those hours should wait in the car park rather than plan on going inside.
Accessible pick-up
The airport's free MyWay service covers anyone with a disability or reduced mobility, arriving as well as departing. Request it through your airline or travel agent when you book, and no later than 48 hours before you fly. MyWay call points, telephone booths marked with the logo, summon the team, and reserved parking spaces sit near the car park exits for whoever is collecting you.
