Which room to book at Palácio Príncipe Real
The Signature Garden. It is the same 35 to 40 m² as the Signature below it, but it is the category the hotel sells on the garden: every room either opens onto it or looks over it, with the pool lit up at night. At this hotel the garden is the reason to pay the rate, so pay for the room that has it.

Why this one
For 9 to 11 February 2027, the Signature Garden was 880 euros a night against 780 for the Signature, the same 35 to 40 m² with a king bed and heated bathroom floors. The extra 100 euros buys a window or a door onto what the hotel actually is: 1,400 square metres of terrace and lawn with a solar-heated pool at the end. In the rooms that lead out to it, the house's own description has you on the veranda with a glass of wine or walking down to breakfast by a wrought-iron staircase. Every room in the category has a roll-top bath, which the Signature cannot promise.
The ladder is short and turns on two things, the garden and the bath. The 550 euro Cosy has a shower and no promised view; 100 euros more buys the Dream Bath's roll-top tub, and another 75 the Dream Garden's view, with showers only. That makes the Dream Garden the value call at 725 euros if you want the outlook and not the door or the bath. Above the pick, the Signature Suite adds a sitting area for 70 euros more, and the Grand Suite a second bathroom and a separate sitting room at 1,100. For 20 to 22 April every category was 40 to 150 euros a night dearer. There is one rate, flexible with breakfast, and every room, suites included, sleeps two at most.
- Ask for
- Ask for a Signature Garden room that opens directly onto the garden, and ask in writing, because the hotel's terms say it does not normally guarantee a specific room. If you are offered room 211, know that its way down to the garden is a steep spiral staircase. Ask for a late check-out when you book: check-out is before 11am, and the terms say the hotel tries to grant an early or late one at no extra charge.
- Avoid
- Avoid the Cosy if the outlook matters: the hotel lists no view for the category, and some were the children's bedrooms. Avoid the Signature Suite if the garden is what you want and you might be given the ballroom, the one suite that does not look over it. And do not book the Grand Suite for three: like every room here, it takes two.
Suites against rooms
There are two suite categories. The Signature Suites run 40 to 60 m² and include the former ballroom and the father's study; each has a separate sitting area and a standalone bath, and all but the ballroom look over the garden, one with direct access to it. At 950 euros in February they were 70 euros above the Signature Garden, so if the suite with the garden door is free, it is the room in the house to ask for. The Grand Suite, at 1,100 euros, is the only category with two bathrooms and a separate sitting room with its own television; the hotel publishes no size for it.
