Nice airport lounges, terminal by terminal

Nice Côte d'Azur runs its own four lounges, one Schengen and one non-Schengen lounge in each terminal, and every one is open to any passenger with a paid pass, whatever the airline or cabin. That makes the choice simple but strict: pick by terminal, then by passport control, because a lounge on the wrong side of the border turns you away. Prices below are the airport's own online rates; the helicopter lounge for Monaco is covered at the end.

The short answer

Flying to the UK, the US or anywhere outside Schengen, book the Canopy in Terminal 1 (€48.50) or the Levity in Terminal 2 (€56); for Schengen flights it is the Library in Terminal 1 or the Infinity in Terminal 2, both €40. Priority Pass lists the Library, the Canopy and the Infinity, not the Levity. Children under three go free in all four.

Best for Arriving passengers flying on to Monaco by helicopter in daylight.

The one rule: Schengen or not

Each terminal has two lounges either side of passport control, and the airport refuses entry if the lounge you booked does not match your flight's boarding area. A flight to London, Dublin, New York or Dubai is non-Schengen: the Canopy in Terminal 1 or the Levity in Terminal 2. Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt or Rome are Schengen: the Library or the Infinity.

The entry windows differ too. Schengen lounges let you in two hours before departure, non-Schengen lounges three, which matters for anyone leaving Monaco early to beat the coast road.

Is a lounge worth it at Nice?

For a long wait, usually yes. The lounge price is fixed however long you stay, so a three-hour wait with lunch and a glass of wine costs the same €48.50 or €56 as a quick coffee. The Levity's hot food makes it the clearest value of the four.

There are no boarding calls in any of the lounges, so watch the screens and leave for the gate in good time. If you are checking bags, look at your airline's check-in opening first: the lounge window is no use if the desk is not yet open.

With Priority Pass, an airline ticket or the airport's club

Priority Pass lists the Library, the Canopy and the Infinity, but not the Levity, so a Priority Pass holder on easyJet to the UK from Terminal 2 pays. Members also get restaurant credit at Chez Pipo in Terminal 1 and at a pizzeria in Terminal 2.

There are no separate airline lounges at Nice: business-class and frequent-flyer access is honoured in these same four rooms, and Air France names the Infinity as its lounge here. The airport's loyalty scheme, Club Airport Premier, takes 30% off lounge rates for Gold members and 40% for Platinum, for up to four companions as well.

Levity

Lounges for families

Children under three go free in all four lounges, and the Canopy, the Infinity and the Levity each list a changing table, high chairs and toys. Minors must be with an adult. For a family flying home to the UK, the Canopy in Terminal 1 and the Levity in Terminal 2 are the two to book; the Infinity's pool table is the treat on a Schengen flight.

When the lounge is full

Spaces are limited and online booking closes when a lounge is full; the Infinity in particular stops online sales in busy slots. The airport says to come to the lounge entrance anyway, where passes are sold by debit card, Visa, Mastercard or American Express if there is room. In summer, book the lounge when you book the flight.
