Paris after dark: the best evening from each of our ten hotels

Paris's best evenings are spread from the Eiffel Tower to the Latin Quarter, and the one to book depends on where you sleep. For each hotel in our Paris edit we chose the best evening nearby from our things-to-do list, routed the trip there, and set out the price with fees, the start times and the time you are back at the hotel.

The short answer

From five of our ten hotels the evening is a walk of 19 minutes or less, and from the other five a taxi of 6 to 16 minutes. The closest are Wine tasting at Les Caves du Louvre, 7 minutes on foot from Hôtel Madame Rêve, at €50, and Les Origines de Paris, 7 minutes from Le Grand Mazarin, at €29. The cheapest is Candlelight at Maison de l'Océan, from €19.95 with fees, and the one to book once is Candlelight in the Eiffel Tower's first-floor salon, a 14-minute walk from Shangri-La Paris, from €63.

Every evening here lasts about an hour. The wine tastings and the Seine walk end by about 19:15, the Candlelight concerts at 19:00 to 22:30, and the latest night in this guide, a 21:30 piano concert near Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris, has you back by about 22:45, well before the last Métro.

What only this guide tells you

Door to door, with the time you are back

Lists of things to do in Paris at night start from the monument. We started from the hotel. For each of our ten hotels we routed the trip on OpenStreetMap to the five venues of the three evenings in our Paris things-to-do list: the Salon Gustave Eiffel on the Eiffel Tower's first floor, Maison de l'Océan in the Latin Quarter and the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles on Boulevard des Invalides for Candlelight, the quay under Pont Louis-Philippe for Les Origines de Paris, and Rue de l'Arbre Sec for Les Caves du Louvre. We gave the walking time where it was under about 20 minutes and the taxi time without traffic where it was not. Then we read each show's dates, start times and length on Fever and added the trip home, so the table shows when you are back at the hotel, not only when the music starts.

The result is one evening per hotel. Five are walks of 7 to 19 minutes; the longest taxi, from Le Pigalle to the Latin Quarter, is 16 minutes. Even Hôtel Molitor Paris, at Auteuil on the western edge of the city, is 11 minutes by taxi from the Eiffel Tower.

The best evening from each hotel

What is there to do in Paris at night near my hotel?

One evening per hotel, chosen from our Paris things-to-do list for how close it is and how good the night is. Every price is the lowest ticket on Fever for that show with the booking fee included, read on 30 October 2026; Fever adds a 5 percent fee to Candlelight and 1 euro to Les Origines de Paris, and none to Les Caves du Louvre. The last column gives the end time of the session we would book and the time you are back at the hotel by the same route, without traffic or a drink afterwards. At the Eiffel Tower, count from the moment you are back on the ground.

The walks are the short ones: 7 minutes from Hôtel Madame Rêve to Les Caves du Louvre and from Le Grand Mazarin to the Seine quay, 14 minutes from Shangri-La Paris to the Eiffel Tower and from Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris to the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles, and 19 minutes from Grands Boulevards Experimental to Les Caves du Louvre.

The best evening near each of our Paris hotels, prices read 30 October 2026. Travel times are routed on OpenStreetMap from the hotel to the venue on 31 October 2026: walking where it takes about 20 minutes or less, otherwise by car without traffic. In the evening rush traffic adds to the taxi times, and the Métro is often as quick. Prices are the lowest ticket on Fever for that show, with Fever's booking fee included, as read on 30 October 2026; they change by date and zone, and the lowest zone sells out first. End times are the start plus the length Fever gives, about 60 minutes for every evening here; back-at-the-hotel times add the same trip in reverse. Dates on sale on 30 October 2026: the Eiffel Tower Hans Zimmer programme 7 November 2026 to 20 February 2027, the Eiffel Tower Queen 6 November 2026 to 27 February 2027, the Eiffel Tower Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons 31 October 2026 to 25 February 2027; Joe Hisaishi at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles on four dates from 6 November 2026 to 29 January 2027, Ludovico Einaudi there 5 November 2026 to 30 January 2027; at Maison de l'Océan, Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons 31 October 2026 to 21 March 2027 and Queen 6 November 2026 to 20 February 2027; Les Origines de Paris to 31 December 2026; Les Caves du Louvre to 30 April 2027.

The Concorde and the Faubourg: Hôtel de Crillon and Le Bristol Paris

What is the best evening near the Crillon or Le Bristol?

From Hôtel de Crillon, the evening is the Eiffel Tower, 6 minutes away by taxi across the river. Candlelight in the Salon Gustave Eiffel puts a string quartet among the candles in a glass-walled room on the tower's first floor, about 57 metres above the Champ de Mars, with Paris outside the glass, and the lift ride up is in the ticket. We would book Candlelight: Tribute to Hans Zimmer, 4.6 from 327 reviews on Fever, from €70.35 with fees in Zone C. It plays at 18:00 or 20:30 on eleven dates from 7 November 2026 to 20 February 2027, among them Saturday 21 November, Saturday 26 December and Saturday 2 January at 20:30. For a 20:30 concert, be at the foot of the tower by 19:30 for the reserved lift; the music ends at 21:30, and once you are down the taxi back takes 6 minutes. Bar Les Ambassadeurs, under the hotel's arcades, is open until 1am without reservations.

From Le Bristol Paris, book the piano. The Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles on Boulevard des Invalides is 9 minutes by taxi, and Candlelight: the best of Joe Hisaishi is an hour of Joe Hisaishi's film music on solo piano, 4.7 from 468 reviews, from €39.38 with fees. It plays at 19:30 on Friday 6 November, Saturday 14 November, Friday 11 December 2026 and Friday 29 January 2027, so you are back at the hotel by about 20:40. That leaves the evening open: Le Melville, the jazz club four minutes' walk away on Rue Jean Mermoz, starts its live sets at 20:30 or 21:00 and stays open until 2am, Tuesday to Saturday. If it has to be the tower, the Salon Gustave Eiffel is 7 minutes from Le Bristol by taxi.

  1. Be at the tower an hour earlyFever asks you to be at the foot of the Eiffel Tower at least an hour before the concert, to pass the security checks and reach Entrance 2, near Avenue de la Bourdonnais, for the lift reserved for Candlelight: 17:00 for an 18:00 concert and 19:30 for 20:30. Anyone who misses the lift misses the concert.
  2. Take a seat early at the pianoSeats at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles are by zone, not numbered. Doors open 30 minutes before, and nobody is let in once the music starts.

The Louvre and the Grands Boulevards: Hôtel Madame Rêve and Grands Boulevards Experimental

What is the best evening near Les Halles or the Grands Boulevards?

From Hôtel Madame Rêve, walk 7 minutes to Les Caves du Louvre on Rue de l'Arbre Sec, a street from the Louvre and beside La Samaritaine. A sommelier takes you through the vaulted cellars of an 18th-century house built for one of Louis XV's wine merchants, and pours three premium French wines along the way, in English or French. It is €50 on Fever with no booking fee, the same as on the operator's own site, rated 4.5 from 1,205 reviews, and for adults with ID. On 30 October 2026 the English sessions ran from 14:00 to 18:15; take the last of the day, out at about 19:15 and back at the hotel by 19:20, for dinner at La Plume from 19:00 or a cocktail at ROOF, the hotel's planted garden on the roof, open until 1am all year.

Grands Boulevards Experimental is 19 minutes' walk from the same cellars, or 9 minutes by taxi. After the 18:15 tasting you are back by about 19:35, in time for The Shed, the small planted bar on the roof, open every evening from 5pm to 11pm, or The Shell on the ground floor, which opens from October to March, Monday to Saturday, until 1am.

  2. Eat afterwardsThe tasting is three wines without food, and the cellars are underground, with no step-free access, Fever says. Book dinner for 19:30 near the Louvre or back at your hotel.

The Marais: Le Grand Mazarin and Le Pavillon de la Reine

What is the best evening near the Marais?

Le Grand Mazarin is 7 minutes on foot from the quay under Pont Louis-Philippe, where Les Origines de Paris begins. A guide walks a group of up to 15 along 1.2 kilometres of the right-bank quays, and at each stop you raise a virtual reality viewer and see the same spot as it was: Gallo-Roman Lutetia, the Viking siege of 885, the building of Notre-Dame, the flood of 1910. It holds 4.8 from 4,130 reviews on Fever, the most-reviewed virtual reality experience among the Fever Paris listings we read, at €29 for adults and €20 for children of 8 to 15, with the fee. Sessions run Wednesday to Sunday and the last leaves at 17:30, which from mid-November to the end of December is after sunset: in Paris the sun set at 17:10 on 15 November and 16:54 on 15 December 2025, by Open-Meteo's records. The walk ends at about 18:30, you are back at the hotel by 18:35, and Le Bar de Boubalé is open from 5pm to 2am, with DJs from Thursday to Saturday.

If you would rather make a night of it, Maison de l'Océan is 8 minutes by taxi from Le Grand Mazarin, so the Seine walk at 17:30, dinner in the Marais and a 21:00 Candlelight concert fit into one evening.

From Le Pavillon de la Reine, take a taxi 11 minutes to Maison de l'Océan, in the Latin Quarter, for Candlelight: Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons. It shares the top rating of the 24 Paris Candlelight programmes on our list, 4.8 from 1,839 reviews, and seats start at €19.95 with fees in Zone D, the cheapest evening in this guide. The concerts are in the Grand Amphithéâtre of the Institut océanographique, a listed brick and stone palace finished in 1911, mostly at 21:00: Saturday 14 November, Friday 27 November and Sunday 13 December 2026 among them. The music ends at 22:00 and you are back at the hotel by about 22:10, while the fireplace lounge is still the bar, until midnight. Les Origines de Paris is a 15-minute walk from the Place des Vosges, for an earlier start.

  1. Be early at the bridgeThe group leaves on time, and Timescope's FAQ says a late arrival can lose the ticket. The steps down to the quay are easy to miss, so aim to be under Pont Louis-Philippe 10 minutes before. It is outdoors: in light rain the walk goes ahead, with ponchos to hand.
  2. Book a seat you can see fromZone D at Maison de l'Océan is the back and top of the amphitheatre. The step up to Zone C or B costs about €10 to €17, and Fever opens the doors 45 minutes before this programme.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés: Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris

What is the best evening near Saint-Germain-des-Prés?

Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris is a 14-minute walk from the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles, the national school for blind young people, in a building finished in 1844 that holds most of Fever's piano evenings in Paris. Book Candlelight: Tribute to Ludovico Einaudi, the most-reviewed of them, 4.7 from 1,581 reviews, from €39.38 with fees. It plays at 19:30 on Thursday 5 November, Thursday 3 December 2026 and Saturday 23 January 2027, and at 21:30 on five more dates, among them Friday 11 December and Saturday 16 January. The 21:30 concerts are the latest evening in this guide: out at 22:30, back at the hotel by about 22:45, and Bar Joséphine, under its restored frescoes, is open until 1am, with live music from Thursday to Saturday.

For the bigger room, Maison de l'Océan is 6 minutes by taxi, and the Eiffel Tower 9.

Trocadéro and Auteuil: Shangri-La Paris and Hôtel Molitor Paris

What is the best evening near the Trocadéro or Auteuil?

Shangri-La Paris is the hotel for Candlelight at the Eiffel Tower: 14 minutes on foot to the foot of the tower. Book Candlelight Signature: Tribute to Queen, the most-reviewed of the Eiffel Tower programmes, 4.7 from 601 reviews, from €63 with fees in Zone C on 6 November, the lowest price at the tower on our list. A string quartet plays 12 Queen songs, from I Want to Break Free to Bohemian Rhapsody, for about an hour. It plays at 18:00 on Friday 6 November, Friday 4 December 2026 and Saturday 23 January 2027, and at 20:30 on Friday 20 November, Saturday 12 December and Saturday 9 January, with two more dates in February. For an 18:00 concert, leave the hotel at about 16:45 to be at the tower for the 17:00 lift; you are back 14 minutes after you come down, in time for Le Bar Botaniste, open from 6pm to 1am.

From Hôtel Molitor Paris, at Auteuil, the Eiffel Tower is 11 minutes by taxi, the nearest evening on our list. Book Candlelight Premium: Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons in the Salon Gustave Eiffel, 4.7 from 149 reviews, from €70.35 with fees. The 18:00 concerts, on Saturday 14 November, Saturday 21 November, Friday 11 December 2026 and Friday 12 February 2027, end at 19:00 and have you back at the hotel soon after, while the Bar Bikini terrace over the outdoor pool is still open: its page gives 10am to 9pm. Line 9 runs from Trocadéro, one of the tower's stations, to Michel-Ange-Molitor, ten minutes' walk from the hotel.

  1. Keep bags smallEveryone passes the Eiffel Tower's security checks before the Candlelight lift. Fever says the Salon Gustave Eiffel cannot take wheelchair users; Maison de l'Océan, with a ramp, is the step-free choice.

Pigalle: Le Pigalle

What is the best evening near Pigalle?

Le Pigalle is the hotel for a late night rather than the hotel next to a venue: every evening on our list is 13 to 16 minutes away by taxi. So book the late concert and come home to the bar. Candlelight: A Tribute to Queen at Maison de l'Océan is 16 minutes by taxi, rated 4.7 from 3,522 reviews and from €19.95 with fees in Zone D on 6 and 21 November. It is the same 12-song set as at the Eiffel Tower, at 21:00 on Friday 6 November, Saturday 21 November 2026, Thursday 14 January, Friday 22 January, Saturday 6 February and Saturday 20 February 2027. Getting back late

What time is the last Métro in Paris?

Later than any evening in this guide ends. RATP's own help page says the last Métro trains reach the end of their line at about 1:15 from Sunday to Thursday and at about 2:15 on Friday and Saturday nights, and pass the central stations earlier, so check the RATP app for your station before a late night. After the last trains, Noctilien night buses run from about 00:30 to 5:30.

The simplest way back is to choose the evening that is a walk from your hotel. Five of our ten are walks of 19 minutes or less, and the latest finish in this guide, a 21:30 concert at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles, ends at 22:30, a 14-minute walk from the Lutetia. Every other hotel in this guide has a Métro station within five minutes' walk, except Hôtel Molitor Paris, ten minutes from Michel-Ange-Molitor.

Two evenings, two hotels

Should I split my Paris stay between two hotels?

If you have two nights, book the hotel to the evening rather than the other way round. The west of Paris has the Eiffel Tower and the Marais has the river, and one short move puts each evening on your doorstep.

One weekend that works on the dates on sale: on Friday 6 November 2026, stay at Shangri-La Paris, walk 14 minutes to the 17:00 lift for Candlelight Signature: Tribute to Queen at 18:00, from €63, and be back in Le Bar Botaniste before 19:30. On Saturday 7 November, move to Le Grand Mazarin, walk 7 minutes to the last Les Origines de Paris walk of the day, eat in the Marais, and take a taxi 8 minutes to Candlelight: Tribute to Hans Zimmer at Maison de l'Océan at 21:00, from €26.25 in Zone D that night, the most-reviewed Candlelight in Paris at 4.7 from 4,376 reviews. You are back by about 22:10, with Le Bar de Boubalé open until 2am.

Questions people ask

Good questions about Paris after dark: the best evening from each of our ten hotels

What are the best things to do in Paris at night?

From our hotels, the best evenings are Candlelight concerts in the Eiffel Tower's first-floor salon (from €63 with fees), at Maison de l'Océan in the Latin Quarter (from €19.95) and at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles (from €39.38), Wine tasting at Les Caves du Louvre (€50) and, at dusk in winter, Les Origines de Paris on the Seine quays (€29), prices read on Fever on 30 October 2026.

What can I do in Paris tonight without booking weeks ahead?

On 30 October 2026 Les Caves du Louvre had English sessions that afternoon from 14:00 to 18:15, and Les Origines de Paris runs Wednesday to Sunday until 17:30; both sell online on Fever. The hotel bars take walk-ins: Bar Les Ambassadeurs at Hôtel de Crillon from 5pm to 1am without reservations, and ROOF at Hôtel Madame Rêve until 1am, where booking a table is still wise at weekends.

What time is the last Métro in Paris?

RATP says the last Métro trains reach the end of their line at about 1:15 from Sunday to Thursday and at about 2:15 on Friday and Saturday nights, passing the central stations earlier, so check the RATP app for your station. Noctilien night buses run from about 00:30 to 5:30.

How late do Candlelight concerts in Paris finish?

About an hour after they start. Start times run from 18:00 to 21:30, so the latest ends at about 22:30.

Which Paris evening activities can children do?

Candlelight takes children from 8, with an adult if they are under 16, and Les Origines de Paris from 8, at €20 for ages 8 to 15. Les Caves du Louvre is for adults 18 and over, with ID.

Is Candlelight at the Eiffel Tower worth the extra?

For a first trip, we think so: from €63 with fees you hear the music in a glass salon on the tower's first floor, with the lift included. The same programmes cost from €19.95 at Maison de l'Océan, the better buy for a second Candlelight or a family.
