Palma de Mallorca Airport lounges

Palma has one terminal and four boarding modules, and Aena runs every lounge in it. Four are open: Valldemossa in the central airside hall, Llevant in Module A for non-Schengen flights, Mediterráneo in Module C and Mestral in Module B. A fifth, Formentor in Module D, is closed for refurbishment. All four sell entry on Aena's VIP site for a stay of up to three hours, and three of them are on Priority Pass. Below is each one with Aena's price, hours and what it actually has, so you can pick by module rather than by name.

The short answer

Flying to the UK or anywhere outside Schengen, go to Llevant in Module A: you are already past passport control and opposite gates A20 and A21. On a Schengen flight, Valldemossa on Floor 4 is the central choice with a terrace, showers and a children's area, or Mediterráneo if your gate is in Module C. Mestral in Module B is the simpler lounge, worth it only for a B gate and a long wait.

Hours: 08:00 to 22:00 for Priority Pass

  • Sit-down meals and drinks

A sports bar, not a lounge, but a fair use of a Priority Pass visit before a UK flight if Llevant is busy or you would rather eat a proper meal.

Best for Priority Pass members on a non-Schengen flight who want food more than a quiet seat.

Is a lounge worth it at Palma?

At €48.00 for an adult, a lounge pays its way on a wait of two or three hours. The lounges have food and drink, seats and, in all but Mestral, showers, and the price covers up to three hours before your scheduled departure. Aena's VIP site adds that if your flight is delayed, the stay can run on by the length of the delay.

It is less worth it on a short wait or a late-evening flight: Mestral closes at 22:00, and Priority Pass lists 22:00 for Valldemossa and Mediterráneo too. Pair the lounge with Aena's Fast Lane at security, €11.10 a person and open 24 hours, and you can arrive later and still have time to sit down.

Which lounge for which module

Palma's gates sit in four modules reached from the central hall, so choose the lounge by module. Non-Schengen flights, the UK's included, board in Module A after passport control: that means Llevant, and Llevant only, because it is the one lounge on that side of the border. Schengen flights can use Valldemossa, Mediterráneo or Mestral. Valldemossa sits in the central hall on Floor 4, a sensible base if the gate has not been announced; Mediterráneo serves Module C and Mestral Module B. The Formentor lounge in Module D is closed for refurbishment, so a D gate means a walk from Mediterráneo or Valldemossa.

Lounges for families

Yes, and Aena prices them sensibly. Children aged 0 to 5 go in free, those aged 6 to 10 pay €22.20 (€24.55 at Llevant), and from 11 they pay the adult price. Valldemossa, Llevant and Mediterráneo each list a children's area and a nursing room, which makes them the three to choose with small children; Mestral lists neither. Children aged 0 to 5 also go through the Fast Lane free.

With Priority Pass

Priority Pass lists Llevant, Valldemossa and Mediterráneo, plus the O'Learys bar in Module A, where a visit becomes €23 off the bill per person. Mestral is not on its list. Priority Pass also gives shorter hours than Aena for two of them: 05:00 to 22:00 at Valldemossa and 05:30 to 22:00 at Mediterráneo, so a member on a late flight should plan on Llevant, which it lists until midnight, or on paying at the door with Aena.

Booking and the small print

Buy on Aena's VIP site, where you give your flight date, time and number. A ticket is for the named lounge only and stays valid for three months from purchase. The stay is up to three hours immediately before your scheduled departure. Aena asks passengers to buy its VIP services only through its own channels.
