Which room to book at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel

The Premier Room. It is the first category with both the Madison Avenue outlook and a soaking tub, and at 450 sq ft (42 m²) it is a quarter bigger than the entry room, for $350 a night more. Below it you choose between a quiet courtyard and a small room on the avenue; above it the suites begin, and the park view does not start until the Central Park Suite.

Why this one

The four cheapest rooms are all 360 to 375 sq ft (33 to 35 m²), and what separates them is the window. The Superior and the Deluxe King face the courtyard, which keeps them quiet and leaves them without a street outlook. The Deluxe Twins is sold with a city view and two single beds. The Madison Room gets the daylight and the avenue for $120 more than the Superior, but it is much the same size and has a shower only. The Premier Room is the step that changes the stay: 450 sq ft (42 m²) on the Madison Avenue side, floors 3 to 14, with a king bed and a separate soaking tub beside the rain shower. On a Tuesday in late January 2027 it was $1,650 against $1,300 for the Superior, and the gap stays at $350 a night through the year, from November 2026 to September 2027.

Above the Premier Room the ladder stops being about the window and starts being about space. The Executive King adds a separate lounge for $50 more but goes back to the courtyard. The Rosewood Suite, at $2,400, is the cheapest way into the tower, with a living room and Manhattan from floors 23 to 33. The park itself does not appear until the Central Park Suite at $6,500, because only that suite, the Empire Suite and the Presidential Suite are sold with a Central Park view.

Ask for
Ask for a Premier Room as high as the category goes. It runs from the 3rd to the 14th floor on the Madison Avenue side, so ask for one at the top of that range. Families who would rather have two rooms than a suite can ask for connecting rooms, which many of the standard rooms allow; cribs are free, and a rollaway is $75 a night in the rooms that take one.
Avoid
The Superior Room if daylight or a bath matters to you. The Deluxe King too, since it is 15 sq ft more than the Superior for $50 and looks at the same courtyard. And the Executive King unless you need its separate lounge, because it costs more than the Premier Room and still faces the courtyard. The Deluxe Twins Room suits two people who do not mind single beds.

Suites against rooms

Two suites are worth singling out. The Rosewood Suite, 600 sq ft (56 m²) on floors 23 to 33, is the cheapest way into the tower: $2,400 on a Tuesday in late January 2027, $750 a night over the Premier Room, for a separate living room and the city from high up. It is sold on Manhattan views, not the park, so do not book it for Central Park.

The Carlyle Suite is the corner one: 800 sq ft (74 m²) over Madison Avenue and 76th Street, with hardwood floors and a large dressing area, low in the building on floors 3 to 12, at $3,200. It joins the rooms next to it to make two or three bedrooms, so a family can take the corner and add a room rather than move up to a two-bedroom suite. For the park itself, the Central Park Suite at $6,500 is the first and the cheapest way to get it.

Our verdict

Book it for Bemelmans, Café Carlyle and the Upper East Side on foot, and pay for a Premier Room so that you wake to Madison Avenue rather than the courtyard. Come in January or February, when the entry room costs about a third less than in October or November.
