Porto airport pick-up points: taxi, Uber and Bolt, Kiss & Fly, Metro and buses
Porto's airport has one terminal, so every pick-up starts from the same arrivals hall on the ground floor. Friends stop free for up to ten minutes at the arrivals kerb, taxis wait at the rank around the clock, Uber and Bolt send you to the point shown in the app, and Metro line E leaves from the station at the terminal. Here is where each one is and what to know, from ANA, Metro do Porto, STCP and the ride-hailing apps themselves.
The 30-second version
Walk out of baggage reclaim into the arrivals hall on the ground floor. For a taxi, go to the rank outside arrivals; for Uber or Bolt, follow the in-app directions and the ride-hailing signs to the pick-up point the app assigns. A friend collecting you can stop free for ten minutes at the Kiss & Fly on the arrivals kerb, ground floor, without leaving the car, or park in P0 or P1 to meet you inside. For the city, Metro line E runs from Aeroporto station at the terminal until 00:42.

Main terminal
- Taxi
The taxi rank outside the terminal, at the arrivals level
Leave the arrivals hall for the rank outside. Taxis wait there 24 hours a day and generally take up to four passengers; for a larger car, order one by phone in advance. Fares are on the meter, with any tolls added, and a supplement is charged for luggage larger than 55 x 35 x 20 cm. Typical times are 20 to 30 minutes to our city hotels.
- Uber and ride apps
The pick-up point shown in the Uber or Bolt app, signed for ride-hailing
Request the ride once you have your bags, then open the app's directions to the pick-up point and follow them; both Uber and Bolt say the point may change and may not be at the nearest exit, and that ride-hailing signs may be posted in the terminal. Check the plate, car and driver in the app before you get in. Tolls can be added to the fare.
- Pre-booked driver
Arrivals hall, ground floor, after the exit from baggage reclaim
A pre-booked driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Kiss & Fly is only for drivers who stay in their car, so a driver who comes in to meet you parks in the airport car parks: allow a short walk to the car.
- Friends collecting you
Kiss & Fly, the arrivals kerb, ground floor
Free for up to ten minutes for a driver who stays in the car. Within any 24 hours you can use it free twice, in non-consecutive ten-minute stops; a third use, or a longer stop, is charged as parking. Have the passenger call when they have their bags, then drive in.
- Friends collecting you
Car parks P0 (Premium) and P1 (Terminal), beside the terminal
For a friend who wants to meet you inside, P0 sits beside the terminal and P1 a short walk away, both run by ANA. The airport says its car parks are the only ones inside the airport and have space at any hour. Parking spaces for drivers with a reduced mobility badge are near the exits in every car park.
- Metro
Aeroporto station, end of line E (violet), at the terminal
The station is at the terminal. Buy a rechargeable Andante card for €0.60 and load a Z4 ticket at €2.30, valid with changes for 1 hour 15 minutes. Trains run to Trindade in 27 to 32 minutes, about every 15 minutes through the day; the first leaves at 06:06 on weekdays, 05:58 on Saturdays and 05:57 on Sundays, and the last at 00:42 every day.
- Bus
The STCP airport stop, served by lines 601, 602, 604 and the 3M night bus
Line 601 runs to Cordoaria via Marshopping and 602 to Cordoaria via Padrão de Moreira, each about every 25 minutes from 05:30 to 00:30. Line 604 runs to Hospital de São João via Crestins about every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 21:00. The 3M night bus runs hourly to Avenida dos Aliados between 00:30 and 05:30. Tickets cost €2.50 on board.
- Coach
The coach operators' airport stops; getBUS has a counter in the terminal
getBUS runs direct to Braga, Guimarães, Amarante, Chaves, Vila Real and Campanhã in Porto, with its counter open 09:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 18:00 daily. Rede Expressos and FlixBus link the airport with towns across Portugal, and Autna runs to Valença and Vigo, four times on weekdays and twice at weekends. Check the stop on your ticket.
- Car hire
Rental desks in the terminal, before security; cars just outside
Avis and Budget open 07:00 to 24:00, Europcar 06:30 to 24:00, Goldcar 07:00 to 23:00, Guerin 07:00 to 24:00, Hertz 06:00 to 24:00 and Sixt 07:00 to 24:00. The airport says your car waits just outside the terminal.
Being picked up by a friend: where to wait and what it costs
Not for a short stop. The Kiss & Fly at the arrivals kerb on the ground floor is free for up to ten minutes, as long as the driver stays in the car. Within any 24 hours a car can stop free twice, in two separate ten-minute periods; from the third use, or once a stop runs over ten minutes, it is charged as parking at the airport's rates. Drop-offs work the same way at the departures kerb on the third floor.
The trick is timing. Ask your friend to wait off the airport until you call with your bags, then drive in. If they would rather meet you in the hall, they should use P0 or P1, the car parks closest to the terminal, and pay for the time they stay. The airport publishes its current parking rates on its website and at the car park entrances.

Meeting a pre-booked driver
In the arrivals hall on the ground floor, as you come out of baggage reclaim. A pre-booked driver waits there with your name, so there is no need to hunt for a car on the kerb. This is the sensible way to the Douro Valley, typically 85 to 114 minutes by road to our three valley hotels, and to Rua das Flores, where Casa da Companhia says only official taxis and licensed transfers may drive to the door and Uber and Bolt may not.
Late at night
The last Metro leaves at 00:42 every day. After that, STCP's 3M night bus leaves hourly for Avenida dos Aliados between 00:30 and 05:30 at €2.50 on board, and taxis wait at the rank around the clock. Most car hire desks close at midnight, Goldcar at 23:00, so a late landing with a rental needs a word with the company first. Uber warns that drivers can take longer to arrive for early and late flights.
Accessible pick-up
The airport's free MyWay service takes passengers with reduced mobility from the aircraft seat through the terminal. Book it with your airline at least 48 hours before the flight. MyWay call points are on level 0, where arrivals and the kerb are, on level 3, and on levels -1 and -2 of the car park, so a friend parking there can call for help. Drivers with a reduced mobility badge have marked spaces near the exits in every car park.
