Why this one
Palazzo Murat has 33 rooms in eight categories, split between the old palazzo and a newer wing, and every rate on sale for June 2027 includes breakfast. The newer wing holds the entry Classic Garden and City View rooms, 24 to 30 m² at garden level with a terrace over the garden and the village, and above them the Special Superior rooms, the same size, with the sea off to one side. The old palazzo holds the rooms with the sea in front, the antiques and the stairs. For one night on Tuesday 8 June 2027 the entry room was €1,338 for two, the Special Superior €1,750 and the Deluxe Sea View €2,200.
The Deluxe Sea View is the one to book because it is the first rung that gives you the palazzo and the sea together: a balcony over the water, the village and the garden, a four-poster bed and antique furniture, for €450 more than the Special Superior's side view. Above it, the Special Deluxe adds a corner position and two French balconies, which you stand at rather than sit on, for another €463, and the suites add space rather than a better view.
- Ask for
- The Special Deluxe Sea View if the budget stretches: the corner room the hotel calls the room of the King of Naples, about 30 m² with two French balconies over the sea, €463 a night above the Deluxe in June. And if stairs are a concern, tell the hotel when you book: the Deluxe rooms are on the second floor and there is no lift.
- Avoid
- The Standard Double Room, about 20 m², up two flights of stairs with a small terrace and no view. And any palazzo room if stairs are a problem: there is no lift, and the Deluxe rooms are on the second floor.
Suites against rooms
There are three suite categories, all in the old palazzo. The Superior Suite, about 45 m² on the first floor, has a living room with a sofa bed and a 30 m² terrace, but faces the village. The Suite with king size bed plus two extra single beds, about 52 m², has a balcony over the sea and the village and sleeps a family, up about 20 steps; it was €2,663 for two on Tuesday 22 June 2027. The Sea View Presidential Suite has two bedrooms and two bathrooms on two levels, about 45 m², with a 59 m² terrace over the sea, the village and the garden. The Superior and Presidential Suites are not yet on sale for 2027.

Our verdict
Positano from the inside: a family palazzo with a garden, a pool and the beach four minutes away, for those who would rather walk to the sea than look down on it. Check availability for the Deluxe Sea View.
