Lanzarote airport lounges

César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport has one lounge: Aena's Guacimeta VIP lounge, airside in Terminal 1, opposite gates 1 and 2 and next to the shops and restaurants. Anyone flying from Terminal 1 can buy their way in, Priority Pass members get in on their card, and it serves Schengen and non-Schengen flights alike. Terminal 2, for inter-island flights, has none. Here is what the lounge costs, what you get, and how to make the most of it.

The short answer

Book the Guacimeta VIP lounge if you fly from Terminal 1 with an hour or more to spare: €45.95 for adults on Aena's VIP site, €21.25 for children aged 6 to 10 and free for under-6s, open from 06:00 to 22:00 or until the last scheduled flight. Priority Pass members get in free on their card. From Terminal 2 there is no lounge, so pick a seat by the gate.

Is the Guacimeta lounge worth it?

At €45.95 for up to three hours, it pays its way when you have time to use it. Aena lays on catering, with kosher, halal, gluten-free and special-diet options, and Priority Pass lists standard alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. Add wi-fi, power, flight information screens, a rest area and a terrace, and it beats a café table on a busy afternoon.

The sums are simple. A meal and a drink each at the airside cafés add up quickly for two people, and the lounge adds a quiet seat and fresh air. For a family of two adults and two children aged 6 to 10, the bill is €134.40; under-6s are free.

The lounge opens at 06:00. For an earlier flight, the Fast Lane opens at 05:00 and La Isla Gourmet, on Floor 1, at 06:00.

Flying from Terminal 2

No. Terminal 2 handles inter-island flights and has its own security checkpoint on Floor 0, and Aena lists no lounge there; the Guacimeta lounge is in Terminal 1's boarding area. Caffè di Fiore is the café in Terminal 2, and Aena provides comfortable seating areas in the departure lounges of both terminals.

With Priority Pass, and the Fast Lane

Yes. Priority Pass lists the Guacimeta lounge in Terminal 1, after security on the 2nd floor near gates 1 and 2. Members need a boarding pass for same-day travel, can enter from three hours before a scheduled departure and stay up to three hours. Children under 5 go in free on Priority Pass (on Aena's own prices it is under-6s), and under-18s must be with an adult. Priority Pass lists closing times that vary by day, from 22:15 to 23:25.

Priority Pass also lists the Fast Lane in Terminal 1 for its members; check that your membership includes it. Otherwise Aena sells the Fast Lane for €11.10, from 05:00 until the last departure, on Floor 1. It is included for business-class passengers and some airline loyalty cards, which may also open the lounge, so check your airline's list before you pay.

Lounges with children

It works well. Under-6s go in free on Aena's prices, children aged 6 to 10 pay €21.25 and children aged 11 and over pay the adult price. The terrace gives children space before a few hours in a seat, and the catering means no queue at a café. Children aged 0 to 5 also go through the Fast Lane free with an adult who has a pass.

Without a lounge: the terraces

Terminal 1 has open-air terraces on Floor 1, airside, so you can wait in the sunshine without paying for the lounge; the smoking terrace is at the northern end of the departures hall. Dehesa Santamaría, for ham and tapas, and Wok Street, cooking to order, are the best food nearby, and there are free drinking fountains by gates 3–4 and 11–12.
