Which room to book at Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor
The Grand Sea-View Room. It shares the third and fourth floors, and the view of the bay over the pines, with the smaller Sea-View Room, and adds about ten square metres, a sofa bed that takes a child and loungers on its covered terrace, for 110 euros a night more. Apart from the Sea-View Room, every other room looks at the gardens, the pines or, from the second floor, a partial view of the sea; everything dearer is a suite.

Why this one
The hotel sells 19 categories, and at this end of the ladder the view is decided by the floor. All 110 rooms and suites face the bay side of the building and have a terrace, but only the sea-view rooms and suites, all on the third and fourth floors, look over the pines to the sea. The Pine-View Room, the 40 m² entry level on the second to fourth floors, was 1,829 euros for Tuesday 11 May 2027 and looks at the gardens and pines. The Grand Pine-View Room, 110 euros more, is 51 m² on the second floor with a partial sea view. The Sea-View Room, at 2,300 euros, is the entry room's size with the bay in front, and the Grand Sea-View Room, at 2,410, shares those floors and that view at about 50 m², with a sofa bed that takes a child and loungers on the terrace. That last step, 110 euros, buys the most for the least on the whole ladder.
Above the rooms, the suites divide by view and by pool. The Sea-View Suite, at 3,292 euros, was the cheapest suite on sale, 11 euros under the Pine-View Suite, which looks at the gardens; the Grand Pine-View Suite and the Garden-View Suite with Plunge Pool were 3,575 and 3,685. Then the ladder jumps: the Grand Sea-View Suite and the Grand Pine-View Suite with Plunge Pool were 6,273 and 6,383, nearly twice their neighbours. The Formentor Suite, the Royal Suite and the five suites with two or three bedrooms are booked by telephone and carry no price here.
- Ask for
- Check that the confirmation says Grand Sea-View and not Grand Pine-View: the two have the same size and bedding, but the Grand Pine-View is on the second floor facing the pines. Ask for the fourth floor, the top one. Children up to 18 stay in their parents' room at no extra charge, space permitting; with two children, ask for connecting rooms, which the hotel offers, or look at the two-bedroom suites.
- Avoid
- The Pine-View Room if the sea is the point, and the Garden-View Room with Plunge Pool, which costs more than the Sea-View Room, sits at garden level and looks at the garden. With a child older than an infant, skip the Pine-View and Sea-View Rooms: neither takes one.
Suites against rooms
Two suites are worth singling out. The Sea-View Suite, 51 to 59 m² on the third and fourth floors, was 3,292 euros for the May night, the cheapest suite on sale and 882 euros above the Grand Sea-View Room, for a separate living room, a powder room and a double-length covered terrace facing the sea. The other is the Garden-View Suite with Plunge Pool, 81 to 97 m² on the first floor, with a plunge pool, a terrace with a table for four and its own way out to the gardens and the pool, at 3,685: for a family with a young child it trades the view for a pool and a garden door.

The Formentor name, the sand and Four Seasons service in one place, at a price that leaves no room for half measures. Pay for the Grand Sea-View Room and plan to stay put.
