Mallorca with children comes down to the sand, the club and the drive. Of our ten, only Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor has sand below its garden. From Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, Canyamel's family beach is four minutes by car or a 25-minute walk down, and from Deià the sea is a pebble cove. None of the other seven has a kids' club, and four of them take only adults or no one under 14 or 16. Four Seasons and Cap Vermell are each 71 minutes from Palma airport, so both suit a week of staying put rather than touring; La Residencia is 45.
The season decides the rest. Four Seasons opens from mid-March and Cap Vermell from late March, and both close at the end of October. La Residencia stays open until mid-November, but its Smile Club runs from May to September, so outside those months it is a village hotel rather than a family resort. From mid-November to mid-March all three are closed.
The one hotel of our ten with sand at the foot of the garden. The old steps drop through the pines to Platja de Formentor, nearly a kilometre of public beach with a Blue Flag for 2026, where guests have the hotel's serviced loungers and Llum i Sal, its beach restaurant, for grilled fish and rice. Up in the garden, the family pool's children's area sits among three old olive trees, and parents have a separate adults-only pool.
Kids For All Seasons takes 4 to 12-year-olds free of charge, from 10:00 to 17:00 every day, and teenagers of 13 to 17 have their own room with games consoles until 21:00. Children up to 18 stay in their parents' room at no extra charge, space permitting, and the hotel offers connecting rooms.

Grand Sea-View Room
50 m²€2,410 a night
About 50 m² on the top two floors with the bay in front, and its sofa bed takes a child, which the smaller Sea-View and Pine-View Rooms do not.
A resort built like a hill village, with lanes and a square, and a kids' club that is free for 4 to 11-year-olds and open every day: 08:00 to 19:00 on weekdays, 10:30 to 18:30 at weekends. The animation team runs outdoor games and games in the pools daily, and in July and August the programme spreads across the hotel. That leaves time for Serenitas Spa and its rose quartz sauna.
Space is the other reason. The Family Room is two connecting rooms for two adults and up to four children, and every junior suite, 53 m² with a terrace, takes two adults and one child. Canyamel beach, which the Govern's tourism site calls ideal for families, is four minutes away by car, as are the Coves d'Artà. Voro admits no one under 16, so keep the two-star dinner for a grown-ups' night.

Family Room
Two connecting rooms, king or twins, for two adults with up to four children; a junior suite takes one child at most.
Deià is the draw: the village church is five minutes' walk from the door, and the village's bars, cafés and restaurants are three to five minutes away on foot, so a family can eat out without the car. From May to September the hotel's Smile Club runs activities for 4 to 12-year-olds, there are outdoor pools for the afternoons, and the hotel's donkeys set the pace on walks up through the olive terraces to an old stone shepherd's hut above the sea.
Most rooms and suites take a rollaway bed or a sofa bed for a child, and a Deluxe Junior Suite can connect to an Exclusive Suite for a bigger family. The hotel is built into the hillside, with steps between its buildings and a lift to every level, so with a pushchair ask how your room is reached from reception.

Deluxe Junior Suite
50 to 55 m²€2,655 a night
It sleeps two adults and a child, with a sofa, a dining table for three and its own tiled terrace over Deià, and it can connect to an Exclusive Suite.
Es Princep is open all year in Palma's old town, offers cots, pushchairs and babysitting, and the city beach at Can Pere Antoni is 9 minutes on foot: a family city break for the months when the resorts are closed.
Castell Son Claret welcomes children: its largest suite, the Castell Suite, has a second room for a child, for play or a desk, and Olivera has a children's menu and high chairs. Peguera's beaches are 15 minutes by car.
From about €655 a night
Questions people ask
Good questions about Mallorca
Which hotels in Mallorca have a kids' club?
Three of our ten. At Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor, Kids For All Seasons is free for 4 to 12-year-olds from 10:00 to 17:00 every day, and teenagers of 13 to 17 have their own room until 21:00. Cap Vermell Grand Hotel's club is free for 4 to 11-year-olds, from 08:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and 10:30 to 18:30 at weekends. La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel runs its Smile Club for 4 to 12-year-olds from May to September. None of our other seven has a kids' club.
Which family hotels in Mallorca are open in October and November?
Do any Mallorca family hotels have a private beach?
No: in Spain every beach is public by law. Of our ten, Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is the one on a beach: Platja de Formentor, a public beach, lies at the foot of its garden steps, and the hotel keeps serviced loungers for its guests on the sand. Day visitors share it in summer, so use the loungers or the pools at midday and the open sand early and late. Canyamel beach is a 25-minute walk or four minutes by car from Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, and Cala Deià, a pebble cove, is about 26 minutes downhill from La Residencia, with a summer shuttle.
Where is the best beach in Mallorca for young children?
The bay of Alcúdia, in the north: more than 3 km of fine sand and shallow, clear water, with lifeguards along several stretches and Blue Flags at Alcúdia and Muro for 2026. None of our ten is on that bay, but Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is 32 minutes away by road, with Platja de Formentor below its garden. On the east coast, the Govern's tourism site calls Canyamel's beach ideal for families, four minutes by car from Cap Vermell Grand Hotel.
Do children pay the tourist tax in Mallorca?
No. The Balearic sustainable tourism tax is charged per person per night, but children under 16 pay nothing. Adults at the three hotels on this list, all five-star, pay 4 euros a night plus VAT from May to October, and 75 per cent less from November to April. The hotel collects it during the stay, on top of the room rate, so a family of two adults and two young children pays only for the adults.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
