Where to eat at and around Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor

There is no village at Formentor, only the beach and the road out, so the hotel's four restaurants do most of the work. Mel serves breakfast from 7:30 to 11:00 and Mediterranean dinners from 18:30 to 22:30; Shima cooks Nikkei at dinner only, with an omakase at 150 euros on its 2026 menu; Quiosc serves lunch by the pool from 12:30 to 17:00; and Llum i Sal on the sand does grilled fish and rice at lunch from 1 May and at dinner from 15 May to 30 September. Cercle is the bar and Crocant the ice-cream counter. On foot there is only the beach, with a pizzeria and a self-service bar at its public end, ten to fifteen minutes' walk away, so you will want a car or a taxi: Port de Pollença is 19 to 20 minutes away and Pollença's old town 28, and everything below is in the Port.

Bakery and café for ensaïmadas · €

A bakery, pastry shop and café on the corner of Roger de Flor and Tramuntana in Port de Pollença, open every day from 7:00 to 21:00. Come in the morning for ensaïmadas, the spiral of lard-enriched pastry that only Mallorca makes, with a coffee on the terrace, or at lunchtime for a pa amb oli, the island's bread with oil and tomato. The cakes are made in the house, the prices are neighbourhood prices and everything can be taken away, which makes it the breakfast to collect on the way to a day out.

    Mallorcan cooking in a 1962 celler · €€

A family house since Joan Gual opened it in 1962, now in its fourth generation, in an old celler with the wine casks still in the room, and a Repsol Solete in 2024. The kitchen burns wood: order the roast porcella or the Mallorcan lamb shoulder, both 17.75 euros, a frit mallorquí or tongue with Llubí capers; paella is 13.50 a head for two or more, and the soupy arròs brut needs ordering ahead. Breakfasts from 9:00 to 11:00, then lunch and dinner from 13:00 to 22:30; closed on Monday. Book.

A café and bistro on the front by the harbour for 25 years, open every day from 8:00 to 23:30, which makes it the answer on a Monday, when Celler La Parra and Terrae are closed. Mornings run on specialty coffee, homemade cakes, toasts and pancakes; later the long menu goes from little Mallorcan cocas with sobrasada at 4.95 euros to tartares, ceviche and club sandwiches, and the wine list runs to more than a hundred, many of them by the glass. Walk in for coffee; book for dinner.

Our verdict

The Formentor name, the sand and Four Seasons service in one place, at a price that leaves no room for half measures. Pay for the Grand Sea-View Room and plan to stay put.
