This is the classical programme of the set. The Four Seasons is four violin concertos, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, composed around 1718 to 1723 and published in Amsterdam in 1725, according to Wikipedia. Vivaldi printed each with a sonnet describing what the music paints: birdsong, a summer storm, hunting parties, frozen landscapes and a winter fire. Each concerto has three movements, fast, slow, fast, so the hour has a clear shape even for a first listen.
