The Galdós lounge was rebuilt and expanded by Aena to about 1,300 m², and it shows. Floor-to-ceiling glass, warm wood and soft armchairs face the ocean, and outside is a 400 m² terrace with loungers where you can catch the last of the Canary sun before the flight home.
Guests keep coming back to the food: a self-service spread of hot and cold dishes, pastries and cakes, restocked through the day, so you can have as little or as much as you like, with wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee alongside. Aena adds kosher, halal, gluten-free and special-diet options.
There is a small play area for young children, work areas with power for laptops, and a quiet relaxation zone, so the whole family finds a corner.

Why this lounge
Galdós is the only lounge at Gran Canaria Airport. The airport's one Priority Pass alternative is a restaurant credit at a sports bar, so for a terrace, a buffet and a quiet seat, this is it.
It also serves every departure, Schengen or not, so UK passengers use the same lounge as everyone else, and it is close to the Zone C gates. This pass lets you book ahead with free cancellation up to 24 hours before and the option to pay later.

Before you book
Passport control comes after the lounge
The lounge is after security but before passport control, so on a UK or other non-Schengen flight there is still a queue between you and the gate.
What to do. Leave the lounge in good time, and use the departure screens to judge when to go.
Aena's limit is three hours
The listing describes access for 4 hours before your flight, but Aena's own rule for the lounge is up to three hours immediately before your scheduled departure; Priority Pass allows four only for transit passengers.
What to do. Plan to arrive within three hours of departure so you are not asked to wait at the desk.
