Where to eat at and around The Hollywood Roosevelt
The hotel keeps most of its eating and drinking under one roof: Gable, a contemporary California restaurant off the lobby that opened in August 2026 and serves dinner from Tuesday to Saturday; the Tropicana Pool Café, for breakfast and all-day dining on the deck; and four bars, the Lobby Bar, the Library Bar, the Pool Bar and The Spare Room, with its two vintage bowling lanes. Outside, the good meals are along Hollywood Boulevard, up the hill behind it and down on Sunset and La Brea, six of them within ten minutes on foot. The last two on this list are a short drive away, so you will want a car or a taxi for those.

Coffee bar and breakfast kitchen · $$
The nearest breakfast outside the hotel, a few minutes west along the boulevard: a patio café that roasts its own coffee and squeezes its own orange juice. Order the breakfast sandwich, two eggs over medium with Gruyère, bacon, tomato and avocado on sourdough, at about $14, or the chilaquiles with a fried egg at about $13, and a cortado. It opens at 8am every day and closes at 3pm on weekdays and 4pm at weekends, so it is a breakfast and lunch place and not an evening one. There is nothing to book.

Our verdict
Book The Hollywood Roosevelt to swim over a Hockney, step out onto the Walk of Fame and sleep in the hotel that hosted the first Academy Awards. Take a Cabana Garden King for the pool without the front row, and count the $37 fee and the $79 valet before you commit.
