Why this one

La Villa des Orangers sells nine categories in 33 rooms and suites, and no two rooms are alike. The two entry rungs are the same size, about 20 m². The Deluxe Room is on the ground floor and opens onto a courtyard, with a bath and a shower; the Room with Terrace is on the first floor, with its own terrace above the bedroom, up an interior staircase.

The Room with Terrace is the one to book because the terrace is the thing Marrakech does best: a private roof over the Medina for breakfast in the sun or a drink at dusk. Inside, it is a compact room with a queen bed and a shower or a bath. If you want more room indoors, the Small Suite with Terrace, about 35 m² on the same floor, adds a living room and both a bath and a shower, and the Large Suite with Terrace, about 45 m², adds a study and a dressing room.

Ask for
A terrace that faces the Koutoubia or the Atlas, since only some of these terraces have that view. Say at booking whether you prefer a bath or a shower, as the Room with Terrace has one or both.
Avoid
The Deluxe Room if you want privacy outdoors, since it opens onto a courtyard on the ground floor; and any upper room or the Junior Duplex Suite if stairs are a problem, as there is no lift.

Suites against rooms

There are seven suite categories. The Junior Suite, about 28 m² on a patio or the garden, and the Junior Duplex Suite, about 35 m² on two levels, opening onto the main courtyard, have no terrace. The Small Suite with Terrace, about 35 m², and the Large Suite with Terrace, about 45 m², add a private terrace up an interior staircase. The Master Suite, about 100 m² on two storeys, has fireplaces in the living room and the bedroom and a balcony over the pool. The Family Suite, about 50 m², sleeps four, and the Private Riad, about 185 m² on three levels, has two suites and its own pool, heated in season.
