A hammam is Morocco's steam bath, and the scrub is the point of it. You sit in the warm, wet room until the skin softens, an attendant covers you in black soap, the olive-based paste of the Moroccan bath, and then works it off with a kessa, the coarse mitt that takes the dead skin with it. Rinse, and you come out pink and clean in a way a shower never manages. This package adds a massage and does the logistics for you.

A driver collects you from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and takes you to the spa by van. The listing includes the hammam with eucalyptus black soap and the kessa scrub, an orange blossom cleanse, organic shampoo and natural hammam products, then a relaxing massage with natural oils, which the listing says uses aromatic argan oil. Towels, bathrobes, spa sandals, disposable underwear, drinking water, mint tea and wi-fi are included. Afterwards the driver takes you back. The whole thing takes about two hours, transfers included, and the spa is not named on the listing.

Bookings are for small groups, limited to 10, and the driver speaks English, French and Arabic. It is sold by Click Excursions, a Marrakech travel agency and tour operator. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead, you can reserve and pay later, and on GetYourGuide on 31 October 2026 it cost from 55.69 euros, with a struck-through 79.57. It can be booked up to an hour before the start.

It is the easy way in. A public hammam in the Medina is the real neighbourhood bath, and Lonely Planet puts its entry at about 10 dirhams with a scrub for 50 to 100, but you bring your own towel, soap, mat and change of underwear and find your own way through it. The hotel spas of the Medina are the other end of the scale. This sits in between, with someone to fetch you.

Why this one

Of the hammam packages on GetYourGuide on 31 October 2026, this one has the most reviews by far, about 3,700, with a 4.6 rating, and GetYourGuide's scores of 4.8 for the driver and the transport. Guests praise the massage most of all, and the pickup. The cheaper Traditional Hammam Experience with Massage, 37.66 euros for an hour and a half, rates 4.0 from about 1,800 reviews and has no pickup in its listing. The Women Hammam and Massage Experience with Transfer, 47.20 euros for three hours, rates 4.5 from about 760 reviews and suits women who want a women-only spa. Authentic Moroccan Hammam with a 1-Hour Massage, at 73.63 euros, rates 4.5 from about 170 reviews and adds a ghassoul clay mask and a full hour's massage in a private group.

If you want the steam without the car, the public hammams are a fraction of the price and a slice of daily life, and the spa in your own hotel saves the trip. For a quiet two hours between the Medina and the Street food tour of the Medina by night, this is the simple option. Pair it with the Moroccan cooking class with a local chef, or with Jardin Majorelle, with a timed entry ticket, on a hot afternoon.

Good for

  • A first hammam, with no guesswork
  • Couples and friends who want a quiet two hours
  • Tired legs after a day in the souks

Not for

  • Anyone after a public neighbourhood bathhouse
  • Anyone who wants to choose a named, historic spa
  • Anyone who wants a full hour of massage

When to go

What a Marrakech afternoon is like month by month at 15:00, modelled for Jemaa el-Fna from five years of historical weather (2021 to 2025). The hammam is indoors, so this is about the day around it: a cool place to go on a hot afternoon, and a dry one on a wet day.

A plan for the wet days and the hottest afternoons

In the weather data we looked at, March has rain on 25% of days, December 21% and February 18%, the wettest months of the year. In July and August the median at 15:00 is 39.4°C and 38.4°C. Both are good times to spend two hours in a spa.

From our Marrakech hotels

Drive times are routed to central Marrakech, by the Koutoubia, where GetYourGuide pins the tour; the spa itself is not named on the listing. The driver collects from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, which covers our five Medina hotels and the two in Hivernage. Cars cannot reach most riad doors in the Medina, so expect to meet the driver at the nearest gate or square. From the Palmeraie, the Route d'Amizmiz or the Agafay desert, ask the operator through GetYourGuide before you book.

What guests keep saying

Recurring themes in the tour’s reviews, in our words, never quoted.

Praised

  • A massage that guests describe as properly relaxing, the part most often singled out
  • A punctual, friendly driver and an easy pickup, scored 4.8 on GetYourGuide
  • A clean, calm spa and mint tea at the end

Complaints

  • The hammam part varies: some guests found it quick or not very steamy beside the massage

The catch

  1. It is a modern spa, not an old bathhouse

The listing does not name the spa, and guests describe a clean, quiet day spa rather than a centuries-old public hammam. That is what makes it easy for a first timer.

What to do. For the neighbourhood experience, go to a public hammam with your own kit; for the ease, book this.

  2. Riad pickups start at the nearest street

The listing promises pickup from your hotel or riad, but cars cannot reach most riad doors in the Medina.

What to do. Give your exact address when you book and ask your riad where the driver should wait; allow a few minutes to walk there.

  3. You leave with oiled hair

The massage uses natural oils, and some guests went back to their hotel with oil still in their hair.

What to do. Bring a spare set of underwear, a hair tie and a comb, and plan the spa for the end of the day.

  4. Say what you want from the scrub

The steam and the scrub are the heart of a hammam, and guests who got the most from it asked for a thorough scrub and a warm room.

What to do. Ask for a firm or a gentle scrub, and say if the room is not warm enough.
