ARTE MUSEUM in New York

4.7/5

About 14,100 reviews on Fever

About 50,000 square feet of projected waves, roses, forests and a New York room at Chelsea Piers, made by d'strict and sold on Fever. Go Monday to Thursday: adults 39.99 dollars, children, residents and seniors 29.99, no booking fee on 29 October 2026.

  • Duration: 1 hourStart times show in the calendar

ARTE MUSEUM is a walk-through exhibition of digital art on a very large scale. It is made by d'strict, the Korean design company behind the ARTE MUSEUM venues in Asia, Dubai and Las Vegas, and it opened at Chelsea Piers on 1 September 2025 in a space Fever's newsroom puts at 50,000 square feet, twice the size of the Las Vegas one. There are no time slots: your ticket is for a day, and you can arrive any time from 10:00 until last entry at 19:30. You leave bags in the free lockers in the lobby, use the restroom in the shop first (there is none inside the halls), and follow the arrows from room to room.

The theme is what the museum calls Eternal Nature. Its exhibition page lists the works in order: Waterfall Infinite, a room of screens and mirrors where the water falls on every side; three flower rooms, Roses and Little Wings, Hibiscus Seed and Rose Odyssey; Night Being, a dark beach where whales and turtles move through the stars; a single enormous wave behind glass; Milky Way, made with paper art; a forest; Sun; dara; Tornado; and Beach Aurora. Each room has its own soundtrack by the composer Young-gyu Jang and its own scent, made by a perfumer from Grasse. Fever says to allow about 60 minutes; the museum says most people spend about that, and you may stay as long as you like.

Three rooms are different in kind. Live Sketchbook gives you a paper animal to colour, which is scanned and set loose in a projected jungle. New York Is Art is the room made for this city, with the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge on screens all round a mirrored floor. And the museum lists a room made with the Musée d'Orsay, in which paintings by Monet, Van Gogh and others from the Paris collection are turned into moving light. The visit ends at ARTE CAFE, where a symbol you choose appears on the table around your cup and drifts across a projected New York; one drink is included with the GA + Arte Cafe ticket.

Photography is welcome everywhere, without flash, and the reviews make clear that most people come away with a camera roll full of pictures. Children under 12 must stay with an adult, under-4s go free, and food and drink, even water, stay outside the halls.

Why this one

This is the most-reviewed immersive room in New York on Fever, 4.7 from about 14,100 reviews on 29 October 2026, and the one to choose if you want art that surrounds you for an hour without a story or a show time. Its closest rival is Mercer Labs at 21 Dey Street in the Financial District, a few minutes from The Beekman: fifteen rooms built more around technology, with a hologram of 500,000 hanging LED lights, a 4DSOUND room you feel through the floor and robot arms you can play. It held 4.17 from 704 reviews on Fever that day, from 37.80 dollars with a 10 percent Halloween offer (42 dollars without it), and Fever says to allow 60 to 90 minutes. Choose Mercer Labs for sound and machines; choose ARTE MUSEUM for scale, nature and a cheaper weekday ticket. LUMINISCENCE at St. Patrick's Cathedral is another kind of thing again, a seated 45-minute projection show on the cathedral walls (4.57 from 2,254 reviews, from 35.54 dollars on Fever that day).

Buying on Fever costs the same as buying direct. The museum's own ticket page lists the same prices as Fever, it says online and on-site prices are identical, and its Buy Tickets button opens this Fever listing; walk-ins are welcome at the front desk too. If you would rather sit for an hour of music than walk, see our Candlelight concerts page; for something stranger by candlelight, see Catacombs by Candlelight, and for art you explore by touch rather than sight, Sculpture Without Sight.

Complaints

    The catch

    1. Weekends cost more

Prices change by day: an adult ticket was 39.99 dollars Monday to Thursday, 49.99 on Friday and Sunday and 54.99 on Saturday and public holidays on 29 October 2026, and Thanksgiving and Veterans Day were priced as weekend days.

What to do. Book a Monday to Thursday if you can; the rooms are also calmer then.

    2. Last entry is 19:30

The museum stays open until 21:00, but the doors close to new visitors at 19:30, and ARTE CAFE closes 30 minutes before the museum.

What to do. Arrive by 18:30 to have a full hour and time for the cafe.

    3. Nothing to eat or drink inside

Food and drink, water, gum and sweets included, are not allowed in the exhibition halls, and the only restroom is in the shop before you go in.

What to do. Eat beforehand, use the restroom in the shop, and save the drink for ARTE CAFE at the end.

    4. Dark rooms and mirrors

The museum asks visitors to walk, not run, near mirrored walls and in dim areas, and suggests a companion for anyone uneasy in low light. A Mommy Poppins review in January 2026 said some mirrored rooms did not allow strollers.

What to do. Hold small children's hands, and ask at the desk about pushchairs before you go in.

    5. Bring a card, not cash

The museum is cashless; it takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

What to do. Keep a card or phone ready for the cafe and the shop.

    Questions people ask

Good questions about ARTE MUSEUM in New York

How long does ARTE MUSEUM New York take?

About 60 minutes, by Fever's and the museum's reckoning, and longer if you linger or stop at ARTE CAFE for about 15 minutes more. There is no time limit once you are in.

How much are ARTE MUSEUM NYC tickets?

On 29 October 2026 Fever sold adult tickets at 39.99 dollars Monday to Thursday, 49.99 on Friday and Sunday and 54.99 on Saturday and public holidays, with no booking fee. Children 4 to 12, seniors and NY or NJ residents pay 10 dollars less, and under-4s go free.

What is inside ARTE MUSEUM New York?

A sequence of projected rooms on the theme of nature: Waterfall Infinite, three flower rooms, a night beach, a giant wave, a forest, Milky Way, Tornado and Beach Aurora. There is also Live Sketchbook, where your own drawing comes to life, a New York room and a room made with the Musée d'Orsay.

When is the best time to visit ARTE MUSEUM?

Monday to Thursday: tickets are 10 to 15 dollars cheaper than at weekends, and a Mommy Poppins review recommends weekdays because some rooms are small. Arrive by 18:30 to give yourself an hour before last entry at 19:30.

Is ARTE MUSEUM good for kids?

Yes for most school-age children: all ages are welcome, under-4s are free and the drawing room is made for them. The rooms are dark, mirrored and in places loud, so very young children may find it a lot, and under-12s must stay with an adult.

Is ARTE MUSEUM or Mercer Labs better?

They suit different tastes. ARTE MUSEUM is larger and built around nature, 4.7 from about 14,100 reviews on Fever on 29 October 2026; Mercer Labs in the Financial District leans on sound and technology, 4.17 from 704 reviews.

Is it cheaper to buy ARTE MUSEUM tickets at the door?

No. The museum says online and on-site prices are identical, and its own Buy Tickets button opens the Fever listing.
