Rome Ciampino pick-up points

Ciampino has one small passenger terminal, so every pick-up point is a few minutes' walk from baggage reclaim. Two things are worth knowing before you land: the white taxis wait outside arrivals for a fixed fare into Rome, and every bus and coach leaves from the stops across the road, opposite international departures. Here is each pick-up point, as Aeroporti di Roma and the operators state it.

The 30-second version

Walk out of arrivals to the taxi rank outside: white cars only, €40 fixed to anywhere inside the Aurelian Walls. A booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall. For the coaches to Termini, the Airlink to Ciampino station and the city buses to the Metro, cross to the stops opposite international departures. A friend collecting you should use the P3 car park, 200 metres from the terminal, where the first 15 minutes are free.

Being picked up by a friend: where to wait and what it costs

Yes, for 15 minutes. The airport's easy Parking P3 car park, about 110 open-air spaces 200 metres from the terminal, is free for the first 15 minutes and is meant for stays of up to an hour; after that it is charged at the rates posted at the entrance. Your friend pays at the automatic machines opposite departures or at the easy Parking desk in the arrivals hall, open 07:00–23:00. Outside those hours, the call button on the machines and barriers reaches the 24-hour service. Ciampino is small, so it takes only a few minutes to walk from reclaim to P3; have your friend wait there rather than at the kerb.

Meeting a pre-booked driver

A car with driver, known as NCC, has to be booked ahead, unlike a taxi from the rank, and the driver meets you in the arrivals hall or at a point you agree. Agree the price, the meeting point and how you will recognise the car when you book. Anyone who approaches you in the hall offering a lift is not your driver and may not have a licence.

Late at night

Ciampino takes no commercial flights between 23:00 and 06:00, and the arrivals terminal closes from midnight to 06:00. For a late landing the taxi rank is the simplest answer: €40 to the centre, typically 31–39 minutes to our hotels. Check the coach companies' last departures before you fly, and if you are travelling with children, book a driver who tracks the flight.

Accessible pick-up

ADR Assistance looks after travellers with reduced mobility from the aircraft seat to the kerb, free of charge; request it through your airline at least 48 hours before you fly. The terminal is compact, so the walk to the taxi rank or P3 is short. Free courtesy pushchairs wait near the terminal access ramp for families heading to the pushchair collection point by belt 4.
