Tenerife North Airport pick-up points
Tenerife North is small and easy, with one terminal and arrivals on the ground floor. The one thing to know is the floor: taxis and car hire are on Floor 0, by arrivals, but the TITSA buses leave from the bus parking on Floor -1, one level down. Here is each pick-up point as Aena and the operators state it, and how to reach it.
The 30-second version
Out of baggage reclaim on Floor 0, the signed taxi rank is outside arrivals and the car hire desks are on the same floor. For line 30 to Puerto de la Cruz, line 20 to La Laguna and Santa Cruz, or the 343 to Tenerife South, go down to the bus parking on Floor -1. A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall. A friend collecting you gets 10 minutes free in the Express car park, less than a minute from the terminal.

Follow the taxi signs out of arrivals. Aena advises taking a taxi only from the signed rank and ignoring drivers offering rides anywhere else; ask for a receipt in case of a complaint. Fares are on the Canary interurban meter: €3.85 for the first 1.5 km and €1.35 a km by day, €4.25 and €1.55 at night, on Sundays and holidays, plus €2.10 from the airport. That is about €38 by day to Hotel Botánico. To book one, Radio Taxi Laguna is on +34 922 255 010.

Go down one floor from arrivals. Line 30 runs to Puerto de la Cruz, stopping at Jardín Botánico in 23 to 28 minutes, with 19 departures on weekdays from 07:30 to 23:20 and 14 at weekends; Aena's guide fare is €4.75. Line 20 runs to La Laguna and Santa Cruz for €2.65, line 104 to Tacoronte, La Laguna, Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz, and the 343 to Tenerife South four times a day.

A private transfer driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign. Most flights here are domestic, with no passport queue, so you can be through in minutes; give the driver your flight number so they are there when you are.

Cicar, Europcar, Goldcar-InterRent, Hertz, Sixt and TopCar all have desks on Floor 0, by arrivals. With Teide, La Orotava, Masca and Teno all drives from our northern hotels, most guests landing here want a car.

Being picked up by a friend: where to wait and what it costs
Yes, for 10 minutes, in the Express car park, which has 46 spaces under a minute from the terminal with covered access. Leave within 10 minutes and you drive to the exit without validating the ticket. Stay longer and you pay for the whole time from when you parked, at the current rate, and after the 2-hour maximum the daily maximum is charged and the car may be towed. For a delayed flight, the general car park, a minute from the terminal and open 24 hours, is the better place to wait. Most arrivals here are domestic with no passport control, so a friend can time it closely.

Meeting a pre-booked driver
A private transfer driver meets you in the arrivals hall on Floor 0 with your name on a sign, and tracks the flight if it is late. It is our pick for Hotel San Roque in Garachico, 47 minutes away with no direct bus, and for anyone landing here but staying in the south, about an hour's drive.
Late at night
The last weekday line 30 bus to Puerto de la Cruz leaves at 23:20. After that, take a taxi from the rank on Floor 0: from 22:00 to 06:00 the higher night meter applies, €4.25 for the first 1.5 km and €1.55 a km, plus €2.10 from the airport. Montecelio, in the arrivals hall, serves coffee until 23:00 if you are waiting for someone.
Accessible pick-up
Aena's Sin Barreras assistance service, free of charge, meets passengers with reduced mobility at a meeting point or on board and helps them through the airport; request it with your airline or Aena at least 48 hours before you fly. The Express and general car parks both have spaces adapted for people with reduced mobility, and the arrivals hall is on the ground floor.
