Gran Canaria airport transfers

Gran Canaria has one airport, at Gando on the east coast, halfway between Las Palmas and the resorts of the south. Our ten hotels are 20 to 52 minutes from it by road. This page sets out every realistic way to each of them, with Global's bus times and fares, the official taxi meter and the typical drive to each door.

The short answer

For Las Palmas, a taxi takes 20 to 25 minutes and costs about €32 to €38 by day, or Global's line 60 runs every 30 minutes to San Telmo (€2.30) and Santa Catalina (€2.95). For Maspalomas, line 66 reaches the Faro de Maspalomas bus station in 40 minutes for €4.05, a short walk from three of our hotels, and a taxi takes 31 to 32 minutes for about €53. For Puerto de Mogán, Meloneras, late landings and families, a private transfer booked ahead is the easy answer; for Salobre and the Parador, hire a car.

  • LPAGran Canaria (LPA). The island's only airport, between Las Palmas and the south: Hotel Veintiuno is about 20 minutes away, the Maspalomas hotels 31 to 32 and the Parador at Cruz de Tejeda 52.

Every way in, timed and priced

Global line 60 to Las Palmas

LPA
Time
20 minutes to San Telmo, 30 to Santa Catalina; every 30 minutes from 06:15, then hourly to 23:15
Price
€2.30 to San Telmo, €2.95 to Santa Catalina, paid on board

Quick and cheap, and fine for light travellers: Bull Reina Isabel is about ten minutes' walk from Santa Catalina. With cases, the walk to Vegueta or Ciudad Jardín tips it towards a taxi.

LPA
Time
40 minutes; hourly at half past, 07:30 to 20:30
Price
€4.05 to the Faro de Maspalomas, €3.50 to Playa del Inglés, paid on board

The good bus for our southern guests: Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia is 3 minutes' walk from the terminus, Hotel Faro 6 and Seaside Palm Beach 7. It stops at 20:30, so later flights need a taxi or a driver.

Global line 91 to Puerto de Mogán

LPA
Time
60 minutes; hourly at about 35 minutes past
Price
€6.80, paid on board

Direct along the south coast to Puerto de Mogán, near Cordial Mogán Playa. Good value, but an hour on a bus after a flight; with a family, a driver is the better start.

Metered taxi

LPA
Time
20 to 25 minutes to Las Palmas, 31 to 32 to Maspalomas and Meloneras, 43 to Puerto de Mogán
Price
Canary interurban meter: €3.85 flag fall and €1.35 a km from 06:00 to 22:00 (€4.25 and €1.55 at night and on holidays), plus €2.10 from the airport

Always at the rank on Floor 0. Fair value for Las Palmas at about €32 to €38 by day; by our reckoning, about €53 to the Maspalomas lighthouse and €77 to Puerto de Mogán.

Private transfer booked ahead

LPA
Time
The drive itself: 31 to 32 minutes to Maspalomas, 43 to Puerto de Mogán, 52 to Cruz de Tejeda

Essential for Salobre and the Parador at Cruz de Tejeda, and the way to see the mountains and the west from anywhere. Our car hire page has the deposits and the parking at each hotel.

Landing late, or with children and luggage

After 20:30 the direct bus south has gone, and line 60 to Las Palmas runs hourly until 23:15. The taxi rank on Floor 0 is the fallback, at night rates. A driver booked ahead follows your flight, so a delay costs nothing, and waits in the arrivals hall with your name, which makes the 31 to 43 minutes south an easy end to the day.

Going back to the airport

About 31 to 32 minutes by road from Maspalomas and Meloneras, 43 from Puerto de Mogán, 20 to 25 from Las Palmas and 52 from Cruz de Tejeda. Line 66 leaves the Faro de Maspalomas bus station hourly at half past, 06:30 to 19:30, and line 60 leaves Santa Catalina every 30 minutes from 05:15. Departures and check-in are on Floor 1.
