The take on Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity
Salobre rises over Salobre Golf, an estate of villas, fairways and volcanic ravines in the hills north-west of Maspalomas. It opened in 2006, has been independent since 2018 under Grupo Satocán's hotel arm, and is built around two courses: Roland Favré's Old Course of 1999, 18 holes and host of the 2006 Spanish PGA, and Ron Kirby's New Course of 2008, cut into the ravines, a nine for now and due back to 18 holes in winter 2026/27. The gardens hold 227 palms of 32 species and more than 500 aloes.
More than 300 rooms and suites fill a hillside building that climbs to an 11th floor, and most look over the golf course to the mountains rather than at the sea. The entry Double Deluxe is a generous 42 m² with a furnished terrace or balcony, a bath, a rain shower and a king or twin set-up two metres square. On the 6th to 10th floors the same room is sold as the Double Deluxe Superior, and the 11th floor has its own category. Above come Junior Suites of 84 m² with a kitchenette, Deluxe Suites of 77 m² with an oval bath, and a panoramic suite with a 60 m² private roof terrace and jacuzzi.
The spa is why it is in this edit. Be Aloe is built around aloe vera and Canarian products: inside, a Finnish sauna at 80°C, bithermal showers, an oxygen-therapy cabin, heated seats and an ice fountain; outside, a Vitality pool with jets, bubble beds and a waterfall facing the course and the mountains. It opens daily from 11:00 to 19:00, with limited access for under-16s; a three-hour circuit on its own is €35, a 50-minute anti-stress massage €85 and the 90-minute Aloe Experience €139. At the resort's highest point, which the hotel numbers its 11th floor, the Sunset terrace has an adults-only infinity pool (16 and over) and Bali beds, looking down the ravines to the sea and the dunes. There is also a 24-hour gym, yoga, aquagym and Tempo, a sleep programme backed by Hospitales San Roque.
The trade is the setting. This is a hillside resort with no beach and little to walk to beyond a supermarket and an Italian restaurant at the estate entrance, so the coast means the hotel's daily shuttle to Maspalomas beach, a 15-minute drive or taxis, which add up. Spa entry is not in every rate, so check yours or book the Double Deluxe with daily spa access. Book it for a quiet week of sun, treatments and golf, with a car for the mountains, and skip it if you want to stroll out to the sand or to a choice of restaurants.

Where Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity is, and getting there
The hotel stands inside the Salobre Golf estate on Calle Swing, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, on the dry, sunny southern side of the island, about 7 km in a straight line from the Faro de Maspalomas. The estate has a Spar supermarket at its entrance, a 19-minute walk from the hotel door, and the hotel's Italian restaurant, Casa Salobre, a minute beyond it; outside the estate, everything is a drive. Off-peak, Meloneras beach is 15 minutes by car, the lighthouse and the Dunas de Maspalomas nature reserve 17, Puerto de Mogán 29, Vegueta in Las Palmas 51 and Agaete 85. The Roque Nublo trail's car park at La Goleta is closed, so drivers park at Cruz de Los Llanos and take Global line 18. Gran Canaria Airport is 34 minutes. There is no practical bus: the nearest Global stop is 1.7 km away as the crow flies and served by one local line. The hotel runs a daily shuttle to Maspalomas beach, and there is an underground car park with electric charging. It is quiet at night.
