Las Vegas resort fees: what every Strip hotel really costs a night

Las Vegas hotels advertise a room rate, then add a nightly resort fee and the room tax. We priced 40 hotels, every big resort on the Strip plus Circa downtown and Red Rock in Summerlin, on the same Tuesday and Saturday, and set the advertised rate beside what the night really costs.

The short answer

On Tuesday 23 February 2027, for one room and two adults, Expedia advertised Excalibur at $6 a night and The LINQ, Flamingo and Harrah's at $7. With the resort fee and the 13.38% room tax, those nights came to $58, $64, $65 and $65, and the fee was 87% to 88% of each bill. On the Strip the fee sits in five bands before tax: $45, $49.95, $50, $54.95 and $55, which is $51.02 to $62.36 a night once taxed.

The all-in cheapest on the Strip was Excalibur at $58 on the Tuesday and Circus Circus at $143 on Saturday 6 March. At the top end, Bellagio was $372 all-in on the Tuesday, and on the Saturday Waldorf Astoria was $569, $174 less than its own Tuesday.

Where we would stay in Las Vegas

What only this guide tells you

The advertised rate and the real price, side by side, for 40 hotels

Every Las Vegas price you see first leaves something out. We took the same two nights, Tuesday 23 February and Saturday 6 March 2027, and read Expedia's advertised nightly rate and its total with taxes and fees for 40 hotels: every big resort on the Strip, its separately sold towers, Trump International and Casino Royale, plus Circa downtown and Red Rock in Summerlin. Then we matched each total to the resort fee line in Expedia's own policies and to the hotels' own fee and parking pages.

The gap between the two numbers is the fee plus the tax: $52 at Excalibur on the Tuesday and up to $155 at the Four Seasons on the Saturday. Only Casino Royale, with no resort fee, added just the tax. Parking is the second fee, and it is not in any total: $20 a day to self-park at MGM, Caesars and Venetian hotels, free to self-park at Wynn, Fontainebleau, Treasure Island, SAHARA and Red Rock.

The resort fee at every Strip hotel

How much is the resort fee in Las Vegas?

Hotel groups set one fee for each tier of hotel, so the Strip sorts into a few bands. MGM charges $45 at Luxor, Excalibur and New York-New York, $50 at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and Park MGM, and $55 at Bellagio, ARIA, Vdara and The Cosmopolitan. Caesars Entertainment charges $49.95 at its value hotels and $54.95 at Caesars Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood and The Vanderpump. Almost every other resort at the top end is $55: The Venetian and The Palazzo, Wynn and Encore, Fontainebleau, the three Resorts World hotels, the Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria.

The room tax applies to the fee as well as the room, so a $55 fee is $62.36 a night on the Strip. Downtown and in Summerlin the tax is 13%: Circa's $50 fee is $56.50 and Red Rock's $55 is $62.15. The lowest fee we found was Trump International's $39, and Casino Royale charges none.

What the fee buys is mostly the same: Wi-Fi, calls, the gym and boarding-pass printing. A few buy more. Wynn and Fontainebleau include self-parking, Circa gives two Stadium Swim passes a room each night, and the Four Seasons fee takes in Mandalay Bay's pools.

What a Tuesday night really costs

How much does a Las Vegas hotel cost with the resort fee?

On a quiet Tuesday in February the cheapest rooms are cheap enough for the fee to be most of the bill. Ten hotels came in under $100 all-in for the night: Excalibur ($58), Luxor ($61), The LINQ and Circus Circus ($64), Flamingo and Harrah's ($65), The STRAT ($78), Planet Hollywood ($85), New York-New York ($91) and SAHARA ($97). At the six cheapest, the fee with its tax was 80% to 88% of the bill.

Further up, the fee fades into the price. At Bellagio, $273 advertised became $372, and the fee was 17% of it. Of the resorts that charge the full $55, Vdara was the cheapest that night at $306, then the Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World at $345, ARIA at $364 and Bellagio at $372. Caesars Palace was $295.

SAHARA, at the north end, is the value in our own edit: $31 advertised, $97 all-in, with self-parking and valet free on top.

What a Saturday night really costs

Are Las Vegas hotels more expensive at the weekend?

On Saturday 6 March 2027 the cheap end rose most: Excalibur went from $58 to $180, New York-New York from $91 to $352 and SAHARA from $97 to $306. The big resorts rose less: ARIA from $364 to $467, Bellagio from $372 to $640. The fee stays the same, so it shrinks as a share: at Excalibur it fell from 88% of the bill to 28%. The cheapest all-in on the Strip was Circus Circus at $143, then Excalibur and The LINQ at $180 and Casino Royale, with no fee, at $193.

A few hotels at the top end went the other way. Waldorf Astoria was $569 on the Saturday against $743 on the Tuesday, The Palazzo $399.50 a night against $444, and Red Rock $417 against $433. If your dates include a weekend, price the luxury hotels before you rule them out: on this Saturday The Palazzo, the Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World ($401), Vdara ($416) and Red Rock all cost about $400 all-in, against $640 at Bellagio.

Parking: the second fee

Is parking free at Las Vegas hotels?

Not at most of the Strip, and no Expedia total includes it. MGM's hotels charge registered guests $20 a day to self-park and $40 for valet, the same every day, and The Venetian and The Palazzo charge the same. Caesars Palace charges $20 to self-park and $50 for valet, and Las Vegas Advisor's October 2025 table gives the same $20 at the other Caesars hotels, with valet at $40 ($50 at Nobu). Resorts World charges $21 to self-park.

Several hotels put parking inside the price. Self-parking is part of the resort fee at Wynn and Encore, for up to two cars, and at Fontainebleau. Treasure Island says self-parking and valet are always free for its hotel guests, Trump International's valet is free, and SAHARA and Red Rock charge nothing for either. With a car for three nights, free self-parking saves $60 against an MGM, Caesars or Venetian hotel, and free valet at Treasure Island, SAHARA or Red Rock saves $120 against a $40 valet.

How to pay less for a night in Las Vegas

How do you avoid resort fees in Las Vegas?

The fee is charged on every night at almost every hotel, whoever you book with. These are the ways round it, or round the cost around it, that the hotels publish themselves.

The curved bronze tower of Wynn Las Vegas behind the fountains and trees of its lake
  1. Compare the all-in, never the advertised rateExpedia's total with taxes and fees already includes the resort fee, so it is the number to compare. On our Tuesday, a $35 room at New York-New York was $91 all-in and a $100 room at Casino Royale, with no fee, was $113: the cheaper-looking room was not $65 cheaper, it was $22 cheaper.
  2. Come midweekThe fee is the same every night, but the room is not. Excalibur was $58 all-in on Tuesday 23 February and $180 on Saturday 6 March; SAHARA $97 and $306; Bellagio $372 and $640.
  3. Casino Royale charges no resort feeBest Western Plus Casino Royale, opposite The Venetian on the Center Strip, showed no resort fee on Expedia: $113 all-in on our Tuesday and $193 on the Saturday, with free self-parking.
  4. Trump International's fee is the lowest we found$39 plus tax, and it includes a $25 credit towards a spa or salon treatment; valet parking is free. It sits just off the Strip behind the Fashion Show mall, and was $194 all-in on our Tuesday.
  5. Treasure Island makes the fee optional for membersIts TV Ad Special, for MyTI Guestbook and ALL Accor members, sells rooms from $69 with an optional resort fee, booked direct with the hotel. Parking, self and valet, is always free for its hotel guests.
  6. Loyalty waivers need status, and MGM's need a direct bookingMGM waives the fee for MGM Rewards Gold, Platinum and NOIR members on up to two rooms a trip, but only when the room is booked direct with MGM under the member's name, so not through Expedia. Caesars Rewards Diamond members and above pay no resort fees on hotel stays.
  7. If you are driving, pick a hotel where parking is freeWynn and Encore and Fontainebleau include self-parking in the fee; Treasure Island, SAHARA and Red Rock charge nothing for self-parking or valet. At an MGM, Caesars or Venetian hotel, three nights of self-parking add $60.

How we priced it

The editor read every price on Expedia.com on 27 October 2026, for one room and two adults, on two nights chosen to avoid the big conventions: Tuesday 23 February 2027, clear of the February trade shows we checked, and Saturday 6 March 2027, after the WVC veterinary conference at Mandalay Bay closes on 3 March. For each hotel we took the cheapest room by total, Expedia's advertised nightly rate and its total with taxes and fees, and the resort fee line from the policies on the same listing.

Every total checks against the arithmetic: room rate plus 13.38% tax (13% at Circa and Red Rock) plus the taxed fee, to within a dollar. The Venetian and The Palazzo would not sell one night, so we priced two and halved the total. Wynn and Encore show one shared list of rooms, so they share a row; the cheapest was an Encore Resort King on the Tuesday and a Wynn Resort King on the Saturday. Fees, inclusions and parking come from the hotels' own pages where they could be read on the same day.

Questions people ask

Good questions about Las Vegas resort fees: what every Strip hotel really costs a night

Is the resort fee mandatory in Las Vegas?

At almost every hotel, yes. It is charged per room on every night, whether you use what it covers or not: $45 to $55 before tax at the big Strip resorts. Of the 40 hotels we priced, only Casino Royale charged none; Treasure Island makes it optional on a members-only offer booked direct.

Does Expedia include the resort fee in the price?

The advertised nightly rate does not; the total with taxes and fees does. On Tuesday 23 February 2027 Bellagio was advertised at $273 and came to $372 with the $55 fee and the 13.38% tax. Some hotels collect the fee at check-in even on an Expedia booking; it is already counted in the total you saw, and parking and the refundable deposit come on top.

Which Las Vegas hotels have no resort fee?

On the Strip, Best Western Plus Casino Royale, opposite The Venetian: Expedia showed no fee, and it was $113 all-in on a Tuesday in February 2027. The lowest fee we found elsewhere was Trump International's, $39 plus tax.

Can you get the Las Vegas resort fee waived?

With status. MGM waives it for MGM Rewards Gold members and above on rooms booked direct with MGM in the member's name, and Caesars Rewards Diamond members and above pay no resort fees. Treasure Island makes it optional for MyTI Guestbook and ALL Accor members on its TV Ad Special.

Is parking free at Las Vegas hotels?

At MGM, Caesars and Venetian hotels it costs $20 a day to self-park and $40 or more for valet. It is free at Treasure Island, SAHARA and Red Rock, part of the resort fee at Wynn, Encore and Fontainebleau, and Trump International's valet is free.

How much is the hotel tax in Las Vegas?

13.38% on the Strip and 13% downtown and in Summerlin, and it applies to the resort fee as well as the room. A $55 fee is $62.36 a night on the Strip.

What is the cheapest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip with fees included?

On Tuesday 23 February 2027, Excalibur: $6 advertised, $58 with the fee and tax, for one room and two adults. On Saturday 6 March 2027 it was Circus Circus at $143.

What does the Las Vegas resort fee cover?

Mostly Wi-Fi, calls, the fitness centre and boarding-pass printing. A few fees buy more: self-parking at Wynn, Encore and Fontainebleau, Stadium Swim passes at Circa, Mandalay Bay's pools at the Four Seasons, and a $25 spa credit at Trump International.
