Where to eat at and around Fairmont Monte Carlo
You are on the seaward edge of Monte-Carlo, with the Place du Casino five minutes up the hill and Rue du Portier, the neighbourhood's back street, directly behind the hotel. Nobody needs a car here; everything below is between four and seven minutes on foot, and the walk back is uphill only if you went down to the casino. In the hotel, Nobu opens daily from 6pm to 11pm with a smart-casual code, Amù on the roof runs from 7am to 11pm, and the Lobby Lounge is open around the clock.

Italian institution, since 1946 · €€€
Four minutes up the same avenue as the hotel, the Carré d'Or institution that its own site dates to 1946: contemporary Italian cooking with Mediterranean leanings, a few doors from the casino. Inside it, in the former cigar lounge, is La Table d'Antonio Salvatore, five tables with one Michelin star in the 2026 guide, dinner only Tuesday to Saturday from 7pm to 10pm and a different price bracket. Book the main room for a long lunch; book the five tables weeks ahead.

Pulcinella
4 min walkCasual Italian trattoria, back street · €€
The street behind the hotel is where Monte-Carlo eats when it is not performing, and Pulcinella is its trattoria: Italian and Mediterranean cooking, with tables outside and prices the casino square has forgotten. Check the hours on the door when you walk past, which you will, because Rue du Portier is the short cut from the hotel to Larvotto beach.

Grand brasserie on the casino square · €€
The brasserie on the Place du Casino, which its own page dates back 150 years, with the terrace that faces the casino steps and the Hôtel de Paris. Its own page gives continuous service every day from 8am to 1am, which makes it the answer to breakfast when the hotel's is a queue, to lunch at four and to a plate of something after the casino. Brasserie classics rather than cooking to travel for; the square is the dish.

Gastronomic Chinese, Michelin selected · €€€
Riccardo Giraudi's Chinese restaurant, opened in 2014 on Avenue Princesse Grace facing the Grimaldi Forum, and listed in the 2026 Michelin guide at three euro signs rather than the four the starred rooms on this list carry. Its own site gives lunch daily from noon to 2.30pm and dinner from 7.30pm to 11pm, or 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday, open every day. Contemporary Chinese cooking on premium ingredients in a room designed to be looked at; book for dinner.

Starred rooftop grill, retractable roof · €€€€
On the eighth floor of the Hôtel de Paris, with a roof that slides open and a view down the coast to Italy: one Michelin star in the 2026 guide, skewer-grilled meat and seafood, king prawns from the Gulf of Genoa and the Grand Marnier soufflé that is the reason to book. Its own page gives lunch from 12.15pm to 1.15pm and dinner from 7.15pm to 9.15pm every day, with a jacket required at dinner and no shorts, caps or flip-flops at any hour.

Three Michelin stars, Hôtel de Paris · €€€€
Three stars in the 2026 guide, inside the Hôtel de Paris six minutes from your door. Ducasse's Mediterranean cooking, built on Riviera produce and what the restaurant's own page calls the cuisine of naturality, with Emmanuel Pilon running the kitchen. Its own page gives dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 7.30pm to 9.15pm and lunch Friday and Saturday only, with jackets required at dinner all year. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Starred counter dining, Yannick Alléno · €€€€
Alléno's counter in the Hermitage, one star in the 2026 guide, where you sit at the bar in front of the open kitchen or on a garden terrace over the harbour and the Rock. It is the least formal of the starred rooms near the hotel and the one to choose for lunch: its own page gives noon to 2.30pm and 7pm to 10.30pm daily, last orders at 2pm and 10pm, with no dress code published.

Breakfast
The hotel publishes no breakfast price, so budget for it as an extra unless your rate says otherwise. The hotel does not say clearly where the buffet is served: its dining page points to Amù on the roof, which opens at 7am, and the Lobby Lounge is open around the clock. Guests describe the buffet as large and worth the early start, and the queue at nine as the reason not to make it. The alternative is the Café de Paris, five minutes uphill and open from 8am, or a coffee and a pastry on Rue du Portier behind the hotel.
What to skip
The terraces with photographed menus on the casino square that are not the Café de Paris, and the beach-club restaurants along Larvotto in July, where the bed comes with a minimum spend and the food comes second. Everything above is closer, and most of it is cheaper.
