Why this one

The Standard Room is 300 sq ft (28 m²) with two queen beds for up to four, and everyone sleeps, dresses and unpacks in the one room. The Family Suite adds 130 sq ft (12 m²) and, more usefully, splits the space: the queen beds sit behind a sliding partition, and the living room has the full-size sofa bed and the kitchenette, with a mini fridge, a microwave and a sink. The bathroom is in compartments, a bath-and-shower room, a vanity and a separate toilet, so that three can get ready at once. It sleeps six, against four in the Standard Room.

All four versions of the suite are 430 sq ft (40 m²). Exterior Entry suites are in the motel-style wings around the Cabana Courtyard, with the door on an outdoor walkway and the window in the living room; Interior Entry suites open off a hallway in the wings by the Lazy River Courtyard, bedroom first. On the February Tuesday the Interior Entry cost $44 more, but on Tuesdays in December and January the gap was $5 to $6, so compare both for your dates. Poolside adds $5 to $11 for a courtyard view. In any room, each adult beyond two adds $20 a night.

Ask for the Castaway wing, the motel-style wing beside the lobby building, which is the closest to the lobby, the bus stop and the walking path to the parks.
Avoid
The Volcano Bay View rooms and suites between late October and April: the park is closed from 26 October 2026 to on or before 1 April 2027, and the hotel warns that their views may be obstructed or altered. The Poolside versions too if the children go to bed early, because the courtyards host poolside movies and activities into the evening.

Suites against rooms

Beyond the Family Suites, the one larger category is the Volcano Bay View 2-Bedroom Suite, 20 of them in the 2017 towers: 772 sq ft (72 m²) with a queen bedroom, a second bedroom with two full beds, a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchenette and two bathrooms, for up to eight. It was $522 on the February Tuesday. Outside the Volcano Bay closure it is the room for two families or a group of adults; inside it, the view is of a closed park.
