Rome Fiumicino pick-up points, by terminal
Fiumicino has two passenger terminals side by side, a railway station inside the airport and a bus station on the Terminal 3 arrivals level, so where you are collected depends on how you are leaving. The one rule that matters: only white taxis from the official ranks may pick up at the kerb, and anything booked in advance meets you at an agreed point. Here is every pick-up point, as Aeroporti di Roma and the operators state it.
The 30-second version
Walk out of arrivals at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 to the white taxi rank on the main road in front of the building: €55 fixed to anywhere inside the Aurelian Walls. A booked driver meets you at the point you agreed, in the area in front of the airport exit. For the Leonardo Express, follow the train signs to the station inside the airport; for coaches, follow the Bus Station signs to the Terminal 3 arrivals level. A friend collecting you gets 15 minutes free in the Kiss&Go area.

Terminal 1
- Taxi
Arrivals level, at the rank on the main road in front of Terminal 1
Leave the arrivals hall and follow the taxi signs to the rank outside. Official taxis are white, with a TAXI sign on the roof, the city's crest on the front doors and the licence number on the doors, at the back and inside. The fare to anywhere inside the Aurelian Walls is a fixed €55 per car, all supplements included. Ignore anyone in the hall offering a ride.
- Pre-booked driver
The meeting point agreed with the driver; chauffeur cars (NCC) wait in the area in front of the airport exit
Cars with driver, marked NCC and usually blue or grey, must be booked in advance and cannot use the taxi rank. Agree the time, the meeting point, the route and the price when you book, and how you will recognise the car.
- Uber and ride apps
The point the Uber app gives when you book
In Rome, Uber offers licensed taxis through itTaxi, with a maximum fare guaranteed for the trip, and Black cars with professional drivers. Uber states that the exact pick-up point depends on your terminal and shows it in the app; follow its directions and message the driver if you cannot find them.
- Train
Fiumicino Aeroporto station, inside the airport area
Follow the train signs, not the taxi signs, from arrivals. The Leonardo Express runs non-stop to Roma Termini in 32 minutes, every 15 minutes, 05:38–23:27, for €14; FL1 trains run to Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina for €8. Tap a contactless card at the gates or buy a ticket.
- Bus
COTRAL stop at Terminal 1
COTRAL's regional buses leave from the T1 stop, for Ostia, Rome and nearby towns. The private coaches to Termini leave from the Bus Station at Terminal 3 instead.
- Friends collecting you
Kiss&Go area in front of the terminal, or the T1 short-stay car park
A friend collecting you has 15 minutes free from the moment they pass the Kiss&Go entry gate, with paid extra time at the parking meters. The T1 short-stay car park is free for another 15 minutes once they leave the Kiss&Go area, then paid.
- Friends collecting you
Parking Line shuttle stop at Terminal 1 Arrivals, marked by a yellow totem
The free shuttle to the long-stay easy Parking car parks runs every 5 minutes, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
- Car hire
Desks in Office Tower 2; cars in the multistorey car park, Buildings A, B or C
Follow the rental car signs from arrivals through the pedestrian tunnels to Office Tower 2. You collect the car in the multistorey and return it to the same building. Car sharing cars are on the upper floor of the T1 short-stay car park, reached through the Terminal B car park entrance; register with the operator's app before you fly.
Terminal 3
- Taxi
Arrivals level, at the rank on the main road in front of Terminal 3
The same white taxis and the same €55 fixed fare as at Terminal 1. Another rank is on the secondary road in front of the railway station.
- Pre-booked driver
The meeting point agreed with the driver, in the area in front of the airport exit
As at Terminal 1: NCC cars are booked ahead and meet you where agreed. Long-haul and UK flights arrive here, after passport control and baggage reclaim, so give the driver your flight number rather than a time.
- Coach
Bus Station, Terminal 3 arrivals level: Terravision stand 18, SIT Bus Shuttle 16, T.A.M. 17, Rome Airport Bus 19
Follow the Bus Station signs inside the terminal. These coaches run to Roma Termini, and some to the Vatican area, Ostiense and Tiburtina; tickets are sold at the Bus Station offices, online or on board. Some run after midnight.
- Coach
Bus Station, stands 20–26, next to exit 6 of Terminal 3 Arrivals
Long-distance coaches to other Italian cities, including FlixBus and Itabus.
- Bus
Stop in front of Terminal 3
The Municipality of Fiumicino's local bus to Fiumicino town leaves from here.
- Hotel shuttle
Entrance 3 of Terminal 3 Arrivals, marked by a blue totem
The free Airport Line shuttle to the Hilton Garden Inn Rome Airport runs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Tuesday to Sunday, 09:30–18:30, every 30 minutes, it also stops at the Museum of Roman Ships. The Hilton Rome Airport needs no shuttle: it is under 10 minutes on foot through a covered tunnel with a moving walkway.
- Friends collecting you
Kiss&Go area in front of the terminal, or the T3 short-stay car park
The same rules as Terminal 1: 15 minutes free in Kiss&Go, then the short-stay car park free for another 15 minutes, then paid.
- Friends collecting you
Parking Line shuttle stop at Terminal 3 Arrivals, marked by a yellow totem
Every 5 minutes, around the clock, to the long-stay car parks.
Being picked up by a friend: where to wait and what it costs
Yes. The Kiss&Go area in front of Terminals 1 and 3 is free for 15 minutes, timed electronically from the moment the car passes the entry gate, which is enough if you are already at the kerb with your bags. After that your friend can pay at the meters for extra time, or move into the T1 or T3 short-stay car park, free for a further 15 minutes and then charged, or the P-Terminal multistorey car parks. Overstaying in Kiss&Go brings a fine.
For a long wait, the airport points drivers to the Lunga Sosta long-stay car park, outside the number-plate zone, with a free first period, rather than waiting on the motorway. Call your friend to the kerb once you have your bags.
- Kiss&Go
- 15 minutes free, then paid at the meters
- T1 and T3 short stay
- 15 more minutes free, then paid
- Waiting longer
- Lunga Sosta car park, free first period
Meeting a pre-booked driver
Taxis and cars with driver, known as NCC, follow different rules. Only taxis may wait at the rank; an NCC car must be booked ahead and meets you at the agreed point in front of the airport exit. Book with your flight number, agree the price in writing and ask how you will recognise the car, usually blue or grey. Anyone offering a car in the arrivals hall is not your driver and may not hold a licence.
Late at night
Taxis work around the clock at both ranks, still at the €55 fixed fare. The last Leonardo Express leaves at 23:27; after that it is a taxi, a booked driver or a coach from the Bus Station, which leaves you at Termini where you still need a taxi. A driver booked ahead waits however late the flight lands.
Accessible pick-up
ADR Assistance, the airport's own team, will take you from the aircraft to the kerb free of charge; ask your airline at least 48 hours before you fly. Spaces reserved for disabled passengers are right in front of the arrivals and departures levels, for stays of up to 2 hours; fill in the airport's form within 14 days of the stay to have it authorised. Porters can be booked online up to 24 hours ahead to carry bags from reclaim to the kerb.
