The day starts at Victoria Coach Station, 164 Buckingham Palace Road. Premium Tours, which runs the coach, says check in opens 15 minutes before departure and your gate is in your booking confirmation. The ride to Leavesden, north west of London near Watford, takes 1 to 1.5 hours, the operator says, in an air-conditioned coach. Your Studio Tour ticket is included, so there is nothing to buy or collect on arrival.

Then you have about 4 hours inside. The studio's own figure for an average visit is about three and a half hours, so the time fits. Warner Bros. describes the tour as two soundstages and a backlot of original sets, props, costumes, animatronic creatures and special effects. The route takes in the Great Hall, Dumbledore's office, the Gryffindor common room, the Forbidden Forest, Platform 9¾ with the Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and the large model of Hogwarts Castle. You can ride a broomstick in front of a green screen, and Butterbeer is sold at the Butterbeer Bar halfway round. There is no guide: you go at your own pace, and the studio's Digital Guide, in nine languages, is extra.

The coach brings you back to central London after 1 to 1.5 hours, finishing near Victoria railway station, the operator says. The whole day takes about 7 hours. For the 13:45 slot, Premium Tours also picks up at Marble Arch, outside a hotel's main entrance, with the coach leaving at 14:00; your confirmation names the hotel.

The studio dresses its sets for the seasons. Hogwarts in the Snow puts the Great Hall in its Christmas decorations and covers the castle model in snow, made the way the film crews made it: 14 November 2026 to 17 January 2027, and again from 13 November 2027, on the studio's own site.

Why this one

On 7 November 2026 this was the most-reviewed Studio Tour package with transport on GetYourGuide: rated 4.7 from about 28,400 reviews, from 109.03 euros. Premium Tours is on Warner Bros.' own list of approved travel partners. Its closest rivals cost about the same. The Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour and Branded Bus was rated 4.7 from about 20,200 reviews at 110.23 euros, on a Studio Tour branded bus with a film on board (Warner Bros.' own ticket and transfer package, from £94, uses Golden Tours' branded double-deckers); the Studio Tour London with Transfers from near Russell Square 4.7 from about 13,500 at 108.36 euros; the Studio Tour from King's Cross 4.7 from about 6,800 at 110.23 euros; and the Studio Harry Potter Tour with Transfers 4.6 from about 11,400 at 118.62 euros. Book this one if Victoria or Pimlico is handy for you, or if the 13:45 Marble Arch pickup suits your day.

If you would rather go by train, buy direct. Warner Bros. sells timed tickets at £58.50 for an adult and £47 for a child aged 5 to 15 in 2026, a family ticket (two adults and two children, or one and three) at £188, and under 4s go free. Direct trains from London Euston reach Watford Junction in about 20 minutes, Oyster cards are valid, and the studio's electric shuttle bus, included in your ticket, takes about 15 minutes from there. That costs less, lets you pick your own entry time and stay as long as you like, and suits families near Euston and King's Cross. The coach suits anyone who wants one booking, a seat from central London and no changes. For a shorter outing in town, our River Thames cruise from Westminster to Greenwich or Tower of London and Crown Jewels tickets fill half a day.

Good for

  • Harry Potter fans of every age, from children to grown-ups who grew up with the films
  • Families who want the ticket and the transport sorted in one booking
  • Visitors staying near Victoria, Pimlico or Marble Arch

Not for

  • Anyone who wants more than about 4 hours inside: go by train and stay as long as you like
  • Budget travellers: the direct ticket plus a train fare costs less
  • People hoping for Windsor: this day goes to the studio only

Winter at Hogwarts

Each winter the studio runs Hogwarts in the Snow: the Great Hall in its Christmas decorations and the castle model under snow. On the studio's site it runs from 14 November 2026 to 17 January 2027 and from 13 November 2027 to 16 January 2028. It is the busiest season, so book well ahead, and bring a coat for the backlot: the median at noon in December is 7.6°C.

From our London hotels

Times are routed from each hotel in our London edit to Victoria Coach Station, 164 Buckingham Palace Road, where the coach leaves: on foot from Artist Residence London in Pimlico, a 5-minute walk, and as taxi times without traffic from the rest; in the morning traffic adds to them, and the Tube is often as quick. Victoria station (Victoria, District and Circle lines) is about 500 metres away. There is no hotel pickup: the only other boarding point is Marble Arch, for the 13:45 slot.

Complaints

    The catch

    1. Book early, especially in winter

The studio caps visitors in each time slot, holds no tickets back for the day, and adds nobody once a slot is sold out.

What to do. Book as soon as your dates are fixed, especially for Hogwarts in the Snow and school holidays. If your date is gone here, check the other coach packages and the studio's own calendar.

    2. Find your gate at Victoria Coach Station

The coach leaves from a gate named in your booking confirmation, and check in opens 15 minutes before departure, the operator says.

What to do. Have your confirmation on your phone, arrive 20 to 30 minutes early and check the gate on arrival. Victoria station is about 500 metres away.

    3. Four hours goes quickly

The studio's average visit is about three and a half hours, and the coach back leaves at a fixed time.

What to do. Eat before you board or at the Backlot Café halfway round, and save the shop for the end. If you want all day inside, go by train instead.

    4. Add the Digital Guide if you like detail

There is no guide with this package. The studio's Digital Guide adds film clips and behind-the-scenes interviews, in nine languages, for £5.25 on arrival.

What to do. Pick one up at the Digital Guide desk in the lobby, or pre-book it for £4.75 if you buy a direct ticket.

    5. Pack light

Every visitor and bag is searched on entry, and large bags go through scanners. Knives, alcohol and pepper spray are banned.

What to do. Bring a small bag and leave coats in the free cloakroom; take a coat anyway for the outdoor backlot in winter.
