Where to eat at and around Hotel Santa Lucia
The hotel's own table is Garum, its à la carte restaurant: revisited Amalfi Coast dishes built on local fish, vegetarian cooking on request and wines from the Sammarco family's cellar, served every evening from 19:00 to 22:00 in a dining room for up to 100 or on a 40-seat terrace. Lunch is served only on Sundays and for events, half board is offered, and guests in swimwear or barefoot are not admitted. The bar pours the hotel's homemade limoncello, and from May to October the roof terrace bar serves drinks from 12:00 to 17:00. Outside, the centre of Minori is small and flat, which is rare on this coast: everything below is 2 to 4 minutes on foot from the door. The town is the home of 'ndunderi, its ricotta gnocchi, and the kitchens below put them on the menu. Many places shorten their hours or close in winter.

Family restaurant and pizzeria, since 1955 · €€
Opened in 1955 by Francesco Di Bianco and Annunziata Celio and run by the same family for three generations, in a lane of the old centre a few steps from the sea. In season the place to sit is the big terrace under an ivy pergola, among lemons and hand-made ceramics. Order the house's handmade pasta, scialatielli or Minori's 'ndunderi, the alici innamorate, the restaurant's signature anchovies, grilled octopus or seared red tuna, or a pizza from a long-risen dough the family has kept since the start. Lunch about 12:30 to 15:00 and dinner 18:30 to 22:30; closed on Mondays. Book for the terrace on summer evenings.

Seafood restaurant by the beach · €€
A family seafood restaurant a few dozen metres from the sea, with an open kitchen and homemade pasta. It is the easiest place nearby for the coast's set pieces: marinated Cetara anchovies (€13), stuffed fried anchovies with smoked provola (€16), scialatielli allo scoglio (€19), and 'ndunderi with buffalo ricotta, Tramonti provola and cherry tomatoes (€18), then the catch of the day or a mixed fish soup, priced by weight. It opens from 11:00 to about 23:00 and closes one day a week, so check the day before you go. Book for dinner in summer.

Trattoria of local dishes by Santa Trofimena · €€
A trattoria that builds a daily menu from the morning's fish and local vegetables, with a small outdoor room near the Basilica of Santa Trofimena. This is the table for the coast's pantry: spaghetti with Cetara's colatura di alici or with clams, pasta e fagioli with mussels, fish soups, oily fish such as anchovies cooked several ways, Minori's hand-made pasta, Tramonti cheeses and Amalfi lemons, with Campanian wines. It also runs cooking classes. Open from lunchtime to about 22:00 or 22:30; closed on Tuesdays. Book for dinner.

Pasticceria and gelateria on the seafront · €
The shop of Salvatore De Riso, born in Minori and named pastry chef of the year for 2010/2011, on the seafront promenade. Order the lemon specialities: the delizia al limone, the lemon profiteroles and the babà al limoncello, decorated with lemon leaves and fresh fruit, or a slice of torta ricotta e pere, his ricotta and pear cake, with a coffee. Gelato too. It opens every day from 07:00 to 01:00, so it works for a second breakfast, an afternoon on the way back from the beach or a late dessert after dinner.

Pasticceria and limoncello maker, since 1963 · €
A family pastry shop founded in 1963 by Francesco Gambardella, head pastry chef at a well-known coast factory where he had started in 1930, that also distils liqueurs from the coast's sfusato lemons. Come for what only this stretch makes: lemon delizie and profiteroles, candied lemon and orange peel, and the liqueurs, limoncello first, then wild strawberry, bilberry, bay leaf and wild fennel, and concerto, a coffee and herb digestivo made to a family recipe. The liqueur shop is on Piazza Cantilena, and guided visits with tastings can be arranged by phone. Open from 07:00 to 22:00, though it can close on Wednesdays.

Wine and cocktail bar in a lemon garden · €€
A small guesthouse a short walk up from the coast road has opened its lemon grove to everyone as a bar, and the quiet among the lemon trees is the point after a day on the beach or the buses. Order a glass of local wine or a Cicerenella Spritz, made with the liqueur that was created in the house, and stay as the light goes. It opens mainly in summer and the hours change with the season, so call ahead for the day's times and to reserve a table, especially in high summer.
