Where to eat at and around Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora

You are in Alcalá, a fishing village on the west coast with a harbour, a square and a handful of restaurants along the front and in the streets behind it, three of which are worth the walk. The resort's own page lists eighteen places to eat and drink, from the Pangea food market to Dos Naifes, the adults-only Atlantic kitchen with a Sol Repsol. Beyond the village you need a car or a taxi: a fish house open since 1963 is six minutes north and the two-star room at Abama nine minutes south.

On our shortlists

Close by, on foot or by car

  • Charcoal-grill steakhouse with natural wines · €€€

Three friends, a charcoal grill in an open kitchen and, by its own account, the biggest meat selection on the island: Japanese Wagyu, Rubia Gallega beef and a wine list built around minimal-intervention bottles, with a wine shop attached. It is the village's serious dinner and the place to go when a week of resort buffets has worn thin. Three tasting menus run from 85 to 120 euros a head; its own site gives dinner every day from 18:00 to 23:00.

  • Harbour fish restaurant, Canarian wines · €€

On the old dock, cooking what the boats bring in: grilled fish with garlic and parsley sauce, a Russian salad with prawn and avocado, and a list of Canarian wines. Its own site gives lunch from 13:30 to 16:30 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:30, Thursday to Tuesday, closed Wednesdays. This is the lunch to walk to, with the harbour in front of you and the resort out of sight.

  • B on the Rocks

    9 min walk

    All-day café and restaurant · €€

A café-restaurant that its listings place in the old village behind the square, open every day from 12:00 to 23:00 according to its own site, which posts its menu, wine list and drinks list as PDFs. Useful precisely because it runs through the afternoon when the fish places have closed their lunch service, and relaxed enough for a long drink and a plate rather than a full dinner.

  • Restaurante Pancho

    6 min by car

    Seafront fish restaurant since 1963 · €€€

Three generations on the same seafront at Playa de la Arena since 1963, with a kitchen that describes itself as product, craft and patience: Atlantic fish and shellfish, cooked simply. Its own site gives Tuesday to Saturday 13:00 to 16:00 and 20:00 to 22:00, Sunday lunch only, closed Monday, and takes bookings by phone or WhatsApp. The one meal to leave the resort for if you leave it once.

  • M.B

    9 min by car

    Two-star Basque tasting-menu restaurant · €€€€

Martín Berasategui's restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama, led by Erlantz Gorostiza, with two stars on guide.michelin.com. Its own site gives Wednesday to Saturday from 18:30 to 21:30, a seasonal closure from 14 June to 4 August 2026, a three-course à la carte at 180 euros and the Great Tasting Menu at 240, each served to whole tables only. Nine minutes down the TF-47 and the reason a serious eater staying here should keep one evening free.

  • Modern Japanese with Korean roots · €€€€

Also at Abama: sushi, sashimi and signature plates from the Seoul-born chef, with his mother's paintings on the walls and the Atlantic below the terrace. Its own site gives dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday from 19:00 to 22:00, the terrace for cocktails from 16:30 to 18:30, and says advance reservation is required. The looser, louder alternative to M.B on the same evening drive.

Breakfast

Whether breakfast is included depends on the plan you book; the hotel sells half board, full board and all-inclusive plans among others, and its site does not publish a standalone breakfast price, so check the rate line before you assume. In the main hotel breakfast is the main buffet, where guests report queues between nine and half past ten in holiday weeks; RedLevel guests eat an à la carte breakfast in the private lounge, adults-only or family depending on the room, and RedLevel villas can have it served in the villa. The nearest alternative outside the gates with published hours, B on the Rocks, opens at noon, so plan on the hotel's.

What to skip

The resort's own poolside snack bars for a proper meal: they are for a drink and a plate between swims, at resort prices, and the à la carte restaurants need booking ahead in busy weeks. And do not assume the steakhouse is in your all-inclusive plan; the hotel's own page says it is not.
