La Caleta, Costa Adeje, SpainCorales Beach is the hotel that gave Tenerife a modern, adults-only address that does not feel like a copy of somewhere else. Barceló opened it in 2018 at the quiet end of Costa Adeje, on the rocky shoreline beside La Caleta, and the design, all white curves and sea-facing terraces by Canarian architect Leonardo Omar, still looks fresh. It is one of a pair of buildings joined by a walkway, its exterior meant to read as a ship moored against the coast and its interiors inspired by the coral off the island. The family-friendly Corales Suites is the other half, so make sure you book the Beach side.
Everything inside is a Junior Suite, 121 of them, and every category but one faces the water. The categories differ by how square-on the view is and by whether you get a private hot tub on the terrace, rather than by much in the way of size, so read the plan before you pay up. Three heated saltwater pools are spread through the building, the top one an infinity pool on the roof beside the Royal Heaven Maresía bar. The rooftop level stays calm, the Wellness Corales spa is for over-sixteens, and the gym is free to guests.
Food is the real argument for coming. El Rincón de Juan Carlos, Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón's own restaurant, holds two Michelin stars on the fifth floor. San Hô, where Adrián Bosch has cooked since 2020, holds one for fusion built on Canarian produce. Il Bocconcino by Royal Hideaway, Niki Pavanelli's Italian kitchen next door in Corales Suites, holds another, and guests of either building can book across the whole resort, along with Starfish, La Trattoria and NAO. La Caleta itself, a fishing village with honest seafood, is a few minutes' walk from the door.
The pattern in guest feedback is unusually steady, which counts for a great deal over a week. What you do not get is a beach. The name says Beach, the shoreline in front is rock, and swimmers use the pools, with Playa del Duque 32 minutes' walk along the seafront path. Winter and half-term rates climb steeply. It suits a couple who want warmth, quiet and something to do in the evening without a car, and it is a poor choice for a long lazy beach day.

The address is Avenida Virgen de Guadalupe 21, on the seafront at Playa La Enramada, at the northern end of Costa Adeje where the development stops and the coast turns to rock. La Caleta, the old fishing village with the fish restaurants along the front, is 300 metres away, a few minutes on foot. Playa del Duque, the smarter sand, is along the coastal promenade, 32 minutes walking or seven minutes by car.
Tenerife South is 23 km and about twenty minutes by car on the TF-1, which makes a winter week easy at both ends. A car is useful rather than essential, given how much is within walking distance, and there is free street parking nearby plus an indoor car park, listed as chargeable on Barceló's UK site and free on the US one.
