Where to eat at and around Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments

The hotel's own food is simple. Breakfast is a buffet, and through the day the pool snack bar does smoothies, homemade pizzas, sandwiches and hot dogs, with a bar for drinks and cocktails. Once a week there is a paella or a barbecue with live music. There is no restaurant for dinner, and that is no hardship: a rice house is three minutes along Calle Pejín, and the tapas bars, fish tables and harbour terraces of the old town are 7 to 10 minutes on foot.

Within ten minutes on foot

  • La Arrocería

    3 min walk

Valencian and Alicante rice · €€

Three minutes along Calle Pejín, behind the HiperDino supermarket, a small restaurant that cooks rice the way Valencia and Alicante do: paellas and arroces in the pan for the table, with Mediterranean wine. The one to order is the arroz del senyoret, with the seafood already peeled. The menu is in Spanish. Dinner from 19:00 to 23:00, plus lunch on Sunday; closed on Tuesday. Cash only, and book, since the dining room is small and fills quickly.

  • Tapas Oscar

    7 min walk

Tapas bar in the old town · €€

On Calle La Iglesia, the lane of tapas bars behind the harbour, and one of the busiest tables in the old town. Order a spread to share: huevos rotos, grilled scallops, albóndigas, Iberian ham and a plate of majorero, the island's own goat's cheese, with the house wine. The daily specials and the grilled fillet steak are worth asking about. Lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, 13:00 to 23:00, and closed on Sunday; Monday opening is not settled, so check before going that day. It is busy most evenings, so book or come early.

  • Domenoteca

    8 min walk

Wine bar and local fish · €€

A small, family-run wine bar on Calle La Ballena by the harbour, where the fish comes from Fuerteventura's own boats and the short menu changes with the catch. Start with bruschetta and local goat's cheese, then whatever came in that day, grilled simply, or the octopus, with vegetables done the home way. The wines are the point too: a cellar strong on Fuerteventura and Canarian bottles. Dinner only, 19:00 to 23:00; closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Book, as there are few tables.

  • TantaLuna

    8 min walk

    Mediterranean and fish · €€€

A small restaurant a street back from the harbour, with a chef from Rome and a kitchen that puts Italian and Mediterranean ideas to Canarian fish and seafood. Order the starters to share: lobster spring rolls, baby squid Mediterranean style, king prawns in almond pastry with mango, then fish of the day, goat tagine or a steak. Ask about the specials of the day. Dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday from 18:00 to 23:00; closed on Sunday and Monday. Book, especially at weekends.

  • La Marquesina

    9 min walk

Seafood terrace on the harbour · €€€

On the harbour front since 1973, when the Morera family opened it as a bar, with a terrace facing the Atlantic. The kitchen is fish and seafood with Canarian and Mediterranean cooking: paella and arroz negro for two, fish of the day, gambas al ajillo, papas arrugadas with mojo and gofio escaldado, and meat for anyone who wants it. Mornings bring a brunch of toasts, smoothies and coffee. Open every day from 10:30 to 23:00; book a terrace table online for sunset.

  • Rompeolas

    10 min walk

Spanish cooking at the Avanti hotel · €€€

The family-run restaurant of the Avanti hotel, on the harbour front at the end of the old town, with a relaxed, unbuttoned dining room. The carte is Spanish and changes every few months; look for arroz negro made with Calasparra bomba rice, grilled zamburiñas, fresh octopus, white prawns from the Mediterranean and mini cheesecakes to finish. Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Book online, by phone or by WhatsApp, and in August, at Christmas and at Easter book ahead.

  • La Ola

    10 min walk

Bakery café on the Bristol seafront · €

A German-run bakery with a terrace a few metres from the sea on the Bristol promenade, and holder of a Repsol Solete as one of Corralejo's best places for breakfast. Order the cakes and the sandwiches the guide singles out: German breads and pastries, filled rolls and a rotating choice of cakes, with good coffee and the sea in front. Open every day from 07:00 until mid-afternoon, so it is the place for coffee before or after an early surf. No booking; come early for a terrace table.

Breakfast

Breakfast is a buffet with sweet and savoury dishes, fresh fruit and freshly fried eggs. It is not included in the cheapest rates: added to a room, it costs €44 a night for two on the Surfing Room and €24 on the Sky rooms, for the June dates on the which-room page. The hotel does not publish breakfast hours, so ask at check-in. Outside, La Ola on the Bristol seafront, ten minutes away, opens every morning at 07:00 with German bread, cakes and coffee, and La Marquesina on the harbour serves brunch from 10:30.
