The day starts with a pickup from your hotel in Corralejo and ends four hours later back at the harbour. Fuertecharter, a Corralejo charter company, sails its Lagoon catamarans, 12 to 15.5 metres long, across El Río, the 2 km strait between Fuerteventura and Isla de Lobos. On the way it passes the west side of Lobos and Montaña de La Caldera, a half-submerged volcanic cone with a black-sand beach, with the south of Lanzarote and the Martiño lighthouse in view. Sailings leave at 10:00 and 14:30.

The boat anchors off La Concha, the beach the operator praises for its calm, turquoise water. The operator then splits the boat into two groups of about ten. One goes ashore by speedboat to the islet's small harbour for a short guided walk past the lagoons to El Puertito, the old fishing village; the other stays aboard to snorkel, take out the two kayaks and two paddle boards, and eat. Then they swap. Lunch is a seafood paella from La Lonja restaurant in Corralejo, and the drinks, soft drinks, beer, white and red wine, water, coffee and tea, are unlimited. Snorkel, mask and fins, towels and sun cream are on board, and the crew take underwater photos you can download free afterwards.

Lobos is a natural park, part of the Fuerteventura Biosphere Reserve since 2009. Its management plan of 2006 caps it at 200 visitors on the islet at once, and the Cabildo, the island government, requires every visitor to hold a free, personal authorisation, separate from any boat ticket, whatever boat they arrive on. That is why this trip spends most of its time at anchor in the bay rather than on land: it is a sea day with Lobos as its backdrop, and a short look ashore, rather than a day on the islet itself.

Why this one

Of the catamaran days to Lobos sold on GetYourGuide, this one had by far the most reviews on 26 October 2026: 4.8 from about 1,200, with the guides scored 4.9 out of 5, from 75 euros. The closest rival, a Lobos catamaran cruise with lunch, was also rated 4.8 but from about 190 reviews, at 69 euros; a third, at 62 euros with free time ashore, was rated 4.4 from about 260. What tips it to this one is the track record, six times the reviews of its nearest rival at the same rating, and a day that writes in everything: the guided landing, the paella, the drinks and the water toys. Fuertecharter sells the same trip on its own website for the same 75 euros, with children aged 2 to 11 at 50, but its own terms charge for cancelling inside five days; through GetYourGuide you can cancel free up to 24 hours before and pay later, which is the better deal for a trip the sea can cancel.

Two other pages in our set suit some readers better. If what you want is time on Lobos itself, the walk to the Martiño lighthouse or the beach at La Concha, take the speedboat ticket from Corralejo harbour on our page Lobos on foot, at your pace, from 16 euros. If you want dolphins, a five-hour combo cruise from Corralejo, rated 4.6 from about 530 reviews at 75 euros, looks for them before anchoring at La Concha, and from the south of the island the Morro Jable speedboat on our page Dolphins, from the south is the nearer choice. Fuertecharter also runs an adults-only version of this trip, with cava and fruit, at 85 euros on its own site.

Good for

  • Families: there are kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels, and children aged 2 to 11 pay 50 euros on the operator's own site
  • Couples who want a sea day with lunch and drinks taken care of
  • Anyone staying in Corralejo, where hotel pickup is free

Not for

  • Anyone who wants hours on Lobos itself: take the speedboat ticket instead
  • Guests staying in the south: Costa Calma and Jandía are 93 to 107 minutes from Corralejo by car
  • Dolphin seekers: the five-hour combo or the Morro Jable trip look for them

When to go

What the sea and the air off Corralejo are like month by month, for the morning sailing. Waves and calm days are modelled for the open water of El Río between the harbour and Lobos from 10:00 to 14:00; water temperature for the same spot at midday; air temperature for the harbour at 12:00.

Waves are the median of each day's highest wave between 10:00 and 14:00 in the strait off Corralejo; calm sea, the share of days when they stay under 1.5 metres. Sea is the median water temperature at midday. Air temperature is the median at 12:00, with the coldest day in ten after it.

The calmest water is from June to November

In the four years of sea data we looked at, the strait off Corralejo stayed under 1.5 metres on 95 to 99 days in a hundred from June to November, against 84 to 90 from January to April. The water is warmest in August and September, about 23°C, and coolest in February and March, about 19°C.

What guests keep saying

Recurring themes in the tour’s reviews, in our words, never quoted.

Praised

  • A crew and guides that guests rate very highly, even on days that went less well
  • The sail across to Lobos and the colour of the water at La Concha
  • Pickup and timings that run smoothly

Complaints

  • Too little time ashore on Lobos for some guests

The catch

  1. The time ashore is short

This is a day at anchor with a look at Lobos, not a day on it. The landing is a short guided walk to the lagoons and El Puertito, while the other half of the boat swims; the operator puts the visit at around 30 minutes.

What to do. To walk to the Martiño lighthouse or along the shore to La Concha, take the speedboat ticket on our page Lobos on foot, at your pace, and give the islet half a day.

  2. Ask about the Lobos authorisation

The Cabildo asks everyone on the islet to carry a free, personal authorisation, whatever boat they come on, and caps visitors at 200 at a time. Neither the GetYourGuide listing nor the operator's booking page mentions it.

What to do. When you book, ask Fuertecharter whether it covers the guided landing; if it does, request yours at lobospass.com five days before your trip.

  3. Book it here, not direct

The price is the same 75 euros either way, but the operator's own terms charge 10 per cent for cancelling three or four days before and more after that. GetYourGuide lets you cancel free up to 24 hours before, and pay later.

What to do. Book through GetYourGuide and keep the flexibility for a day when the sea or your plans change.

  4. Bring a layer for the sail back

You come back across the strait wet from swimming, and the operator recommends warm clothing for the return trip to Corralejo.

What to do. Pack a light jacket or a jumper with your swimwear and sun cream.

  5. Winter and spring seas are livelier

In the four years of sea data we looked at, the strait reached 1.5 metres on 10 to 16 days in a hundred from January to April, against 1 to 5 from June to November. The operator follows the captain and the authorities' warnings on whether the boat sails.

What to do. From December to April, book early in your stay so a cancelled day leaves time for another sailing.

  6. Free pickup is for Corralejo

Pickup is included in the Corralejo area only. From Caleta de Fuste the operator sells a transfer for 10 euros on its own site; from Costa Calma and Jandía it is 93 to 107 minutes to the harbour by car.

What to do. Stay in Corralejo for this one, or from the south book the Morro Jable dolphin trip instead.
