What we looked for

Value in Fuerteventura turns on two things: what the rate includes and where you sleep. The four starting prices on this list are not like for like. Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments starts at about €95 a night for two and El Mirador de Fuerteventura at about €110, both room only. Barceló Corralejo Sands starts at about €140 with breakfast, which comes in every rate, and Royal Palm Resort & Spa at about €155 on half board, breakfast and a dinner buffet.

The island helps. No municipality charges a tourist tax, and the 7% IGIC is already in quoted prices. May and June are the cheapest months; Christmas, New Year, the February half-terms and Easter cost most. Then count the transfer: by day a taxi to Corralejo is about €55, to Esquinzo about €110, while El Mirador is 5 minutes from the airport on the town meter.

Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments

Corralejo, Fuerteventura

Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments gives a surf week a lot for a little. Rooms for two start at about €95 a night, room only, the rates barely move with the seasons, and a week costs less a night than two nights. Every category has a balcony or terrace, parquet floors and a rain shower, and at the centre of the complex is a heated pool, where the bar does smoothies, homemade pizzas and sandwiches.

Yoga classes are free, there is a coworking room for the flat days, and once a week a paella or barbecue comes with live music. The hotel sells three- and five-day surf packages taught by Protest Surf Center, who collect you from the door and bring the board and wetsuit. Dinner is in town, where the old town's rice, fish and tapas are 7 to 10 minutes on foot, and the bus station is 5.

The cheapest room with the sea in view: 30 m² with air conditioning and a balcony looking sideways to the sea, a small step up from the street-facing entry room with its ceiling fan.

2 / 4

El Mirador de Fuerteventura

Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura

El Mirador de Fuerteventura puts a historic building on a beach at a price that barely moves through the year: from about €110 a night for two, room only, with bed and breakfast at about the same on the non-refundable rate and half board from about €115. It is the former Parador Nacional de Turismo of Fuerteventura, opened in 1968 and reopened in May 2017, and a path from the grounds reaches the golden sand of Playa Blanca in about a minute. All 50 rooms measure about 35 m², every one faces outwards and most look over the ocean.

The location saves money too. The airport is 5 minutes away, a short fare on the town meter, and with a hire car Puerto del Rosario is 6 minutes, Caleta de Fuste 12 and the Corralejo dunes 32, which makes it a central base for the whole island.

The room to book

Sea View Double Room

about 35 m²€122 a night

Every room is about 35 m², so about €13 a night more buys the one thing worth paying for here: a balcony with the ocean in front of it.

Every room, and why

Light sleepers should book the Double Room with Balcony, which the hotel describes as soundproofed, since aircraft pass close; keep the balcony door shut at night.

Barceló Corralejo Sands

Corralejo, Fuerteventura

Barceló Corralejo Sands starts at about €140 for two with breakfast, which comes with every rate. For that you get a modern, low-rise hotel of 156 rooms on two floors in the middle of Corralejo, round a main pool of about 500 m² with a separate children's pool, sunbeds and Balinese beds. Children aged 4 to 12 have the Barcy Club, and guests 16 and over can pay for the hydrotherapy circuit: jet pool, sauna and steam bath.

The town does the rest. Waikiki Beach is 7 minutes on foot, the old harbour's restaurants 15, and a supermarket stands next door, so dinner out and a picnic for the dunes are easy. Families who need more space can take a 44 m² suite for up to four, or two connecting rooms. May and June are the cheapest months.

The suites are the real jump in space, about 44 m² with a separate living area, and this one puts its balcony or terrace over the main pool.

Royal Palm Resort & Spa: The heated indoor pool and its JacuzziThe spa one

4 / 4

Royal Palm Resort & Spa

Esquinzo, Fuerteventura

Royal Palm Resort & Spa starts at about €155 for two on half board, with breakfast and a dinner buffet at Restaurant Ischia in the price. Every double is 35 m² with a balcony or terrace, guests are adults 16 and over, and the hotel steps down to Playa de Esquinzo through its own gate.

The spa is where the money goes furthest. By the hotel's own measure it covers more than 2,000 m², and the parts most guests use daily cost nothing: the 126 m² heated indoor pool with its jets and Jacuzzi, open 08:00 to 20:00, and the Technogym gym. Outside are the 941 m² Salina pool and the heated Vulcano pool on the lowest terrace. The sauna circuit is €25, on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons. Rates are lowest in May, June and the autumn.

Questions people ask

Good questions about Fuerteventura

What does a good cheap hotel in Fuerteventura cost?

Of our ten, Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments starts lowest, from about €95 a night for two, room only, with a heated pool, free yoga and surf lessons that include pick-up at the door. El Mirador de Fuerteventura, the former Parador on Playa Blanca, starts at about €110 room only, with rooms of about 35 m². Compare like with like: Barceló Corralejo Sands, from about €140, includes breakfast, and Royal Palm Resort & Spa, from about €155, includes breakfast and dinner.

Does Fuerteventura have a tourist tax?

No. None of the island's councils charges one, including La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario, Antigua and Pájara, where our ten stand, and the Canary government has not introduced one. Hotel stays pay IGIC, the Canary Islands' sales tax, at 7%, and quoted room rates already include it. What goes on top is the board and the extras: the spa circuits at Barceló Corralejo Sands and Royal Palm Resort & Spa, for example, and surf lessons at Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments.

When is the cheapest time to go to Fuerteventura?

May and June, and the autumn before the English October half-term, which in 2027 is 25 to 29 October in Surrey. The peaks are Christmas and New Year, the February half-terms and Easter, on 28 March in 2027. Two of our value hotels hardly change: Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments barely moves with the seasons, and El Mirador de Fuerteventura costs a little more only over Christmas and New Year.

Is half board worth it in Fuerteventura?

It depends on what is outside the door. At Royal Palm Resort & Spa, on the Jandía coast, there are no restaurants within a 10 minute walk, so half board, which the starting price includes, makes sense. In Corralejo, Barceló Corralejo Sands includes breakfast and sells half board and all-inclusive above it, and with the old harbour's restaurants 15 minutes on foot, breakfast and dinner in town works well. Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments has no dinner restaurant at all, with the old town 7 to 10 minutes away.

How much is a taxi from Fuerteventura airport?

There are no fixed fares; taxis run on the Canary Islands' meter. By day, Corralejo comes to about €55, for Barceló Corralejo Sands and Corralejo Surfing Colors Hotel & Apartments, and Esquinzo to about €110, for Royal Palm Resort & Spa. El Mirador de Fuerteventura is 5 minutes from the airport, a short fare on the Puerto del Rosario town meter. Tiadhe's line 6 to Corralejo costs €3.40 from the capital, and €3.90 on the weekday runs that call at the airport.

How did you choose these hotels?

Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
