Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel

The Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel is a five-star, adults-only hotel of 62 rooms in the middle of the Fuerteventura Golf Club, just inland from Caleta de Fuste on the island's east coast. Built in 2002 in colonial style, it has wooden balconies, towers and a Canarian courtyard at its heart, with the restaurants, bars and lounges arranged around it. The building is also the golf club's clubhouse, with the pro shop and the Café Hoyo 19, whose terrace looks over the course to the sea. Until 2024 it was called the Elba Palace Golf & Vital Hotel.

The rooms come in two sizes. The doubles are 34 m², with a king-size bed two metres square or two singles, and a bathroom with both a bath and a shower. The entry Deluxe looks over the gardens or the houses around the course; the golf-view Deluxe and the Prestige double add a furnished balcony facing the course. The suites are 57 m² with a separate sitting room, and the Penthouse Suite, at the top of the building, looks across the course to the Atlantic from terraces on different levels and has a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. Breakfast is included, and half board adds dinner at St. Andrews for about €32 a night for two in June.

The course is the reason to come. Fuerteventura Golf Club was the island's first 18-hole course: a par 72 of about 6,100 metres from the back tees, designed by Juan Catarineu among lakes and palms, sloping gently towards the sea, and the venue of the 2004 Spanish Open. Tee times are booked at the hotel reception, and beside it are a driving range for 50 players, an 800 m² putting green, a chipping green, club hire and clinics with professionals. Green fees are extra: in winter 2026 to 2027 a hotel guest pays €93 for 18 holes, against €103 for visitors. Between rounds there is a heated pool with Balinese beds, aloe vera treatments in the wellness centre, and a sauna, hot tub and steam room.

The trade is the beach. The hotel sits inside the golf resort about 2 km from the sand, and Playa de la Guirra is about 35 minutes on foot, so beach days run on the hotel's free shuttle to the Atlántico shopping centre beside it, whose beach runs leave in the morning, with the last run back at 12.35pm. Caleta de Fuste's harbour and restaurants are a short taxi ride away. For golfing couples, and for anyone who wants a quiet, grown-up week of winter sun 16 minutes from the airport with the first tee outside the door, it is an easy choice.
