Gran Canaria's views come in three kinds. The mountains: at the Cruz de Tejeda pass, about 1,500 metres up, the land drops into the Tejeda caldera, a landscape UNESCO listed in 2019, with the Roque Nublo on the skyline. The sea: at the Maspalomas lighthouse and on Las Canteras, in Las Palmas. And the hills behind Maspalomas, where Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity looks over its golf course to the mountains and, from its highest point, down to the sea.
On the coast the room buys the view. At Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, the entry rooms face the mountains and the street, and the Double Superior View is the first sold looking straight out to sea; at Bull Reina Isabel & Spa the plain Double faces the city, and the Double Sea View Room turns it to the beach. At the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda most rooms, not all, face the caldera, but cloud can hide it for a day or two, so stay at least two nights.
The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda stands at the top of the pass, beside the stone cross, where the land falls away into the Tejeda caldera. From most rooms, though not all, from the stone terrace and from the spa's outdoor pool, the view runs across the caldera, with the Roque Bentayga at its centre and the Roque Nublo, emblem of the island, on the skyline. At times the spa pool looks out over a sea of cloud, and in the hotel's photographs the Superior Double and Junior Suite terraces look west across the caldera, where Teide on Tenerife shows above the cloud on clear days.
The weather is part of the view. This high up, cloud can settle on the pass for a day or two, so give it two or three nights.

Standard Double
€101 a night
Most face the caldera, and the hotel pictures one with a terrace looking across to the Roque Nublo; paying more buys room, not a better outlook.
At the western end of Playa de Maspalomas, beside the plaza at the foot of the lighthouse, Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, sells its view in steps. The entry Double Deluxe looks at the mountains and the street. The Double Superior sees the sea from the side, and which side decides whether it takes in the lighthouse, the beach running to the distant dunes or the boulevard. The Double Superior View and the Junior Suite face the Atlantic straight ahead, with the lighthouse beside them rather than in front. Every room has a balcony or terrace.
On the roof, two small infinity pools look out over the Atlantic, the lighthouse alongside and the dunes off to the east. The rooftop pools and Bali beds cost extra.
The room to book
Double Superior View
about 33.5 m²€301 a night
The first category sold facing the Atlantic straight ahead, 33.5 m² with a 5.5 m² balcony, where the rooms below it look at the street or see the sea sideways.
Bull Reina Isabel & Spa stands on the promenade of Las Canteras, 3.1 km of sand and the city beach of Las Palmas, and the long face of the building looks straight at it. The Double Sea View Room is the plain Double, with the same balcony, moved from the street side to the front row over the beach; until the Sea View Suite, it is the only room for two sold facing the sea. The higher the floor, the wider the view over the promenade palms and along the beach to La Isleta.
The view carries on upstairs. On the roof, the heated pool and its sun terrace look along the beach to La Isleta, and the spa's hydrotherapy pool sits behind glass over the bay. Every guest shares both, and the spa is free.

Double Sea View Room
€180 a night
The plain Double's room and balcony turned from the street to Las Canteras, in the front row, so the bay is what you see when you open the balcony door.
Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity has two views: one from the rooms, one from the top of the resort. The hillside building rises to an 11th floor, most rooms look over the golf course to the mountains, and the Double Deluxe Superior is the first category that fixes a floor, the 6th to 10th, high enough for the course and the mountains to open out below the balcony.
The sea comes from the Sunset terrace at the resort's highest point, where an adults-only infinity pool, for 16 and over, looks down the ravines to the sea and the dunes. The Sunset bar opens from 12:00 to 19:00, so in the winter months the sun goes down before it closes. For a suite with the wider outlook, the Deluxe Suite with Panoramic View faces the course and the horizon.

Double Deluxe Superior
about 42 m²€243 a night
The first category with a floor promise, the 6th to 10th, so the golf course and the mountains spread out below the furnished terrace or balcony.
In Las Palmas, Hotel Veintiuno's roof has a plunge pool and honesty bar facing the towers and dome of the cathedral of Santa Ana, about 50 metres away, and its Premium room is sold on a view of the cathedral, at an angle from the first floor.
Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, puts its Suite Deluxe and Suite Premium in the towers of the main façade, with living rooms over the palm garden, and its Presidential Suites on the third floor, with balconies among the palm crowns facing the harbour.
Can you see the Roque Nublo from the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda?
Yes, from most rooms, though not all, and from the stone terrace and the spa's outdoor pool: the view crosses the Tejeda caldera to the Roque Bentayga, with the Roque Nublo on the skyline to the south. Ask for the caldera side with a terrace when you book. Up at about 1,500 metres, cloud, fog or rain can settle on the pass for a day or two even when the south coast is sunny, so stay two or three nights. For the rock itself, Global line 18 runs from the stop outside the Parador to the Roque Nublo path.
Can you see the Maspalomas dunes from Hotel Faro?
From the roof, yes: the two rooftop infinity pools at Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, look out over the Atlantic, with the lighthouse alongside and the dunes off to the east. In the rooms, the Double Superior has a side view of the sea, and depending on the side it runs along the beach to the distant dunes. The sand of Playa de Maspalomas starts at the hotel's corner, and the dunes themselves are a ten-minute walk east along the beach.
How much more does a sea-view room cost in Gran Canaria?
On Tuesday 8 June 2027, with breakfast for two, the Double Sea View Room at Bull Reina Isabel & Spa was €180 against €145 for the plain Double, which faces the street. At Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, the Double Superior View was €301 for two, room only, the same night, €93 more than the Double Deluxe, which faces the mountains and the street. At the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda most rooms face the caldera whatever the category, and rates start at about €100 a night, room only.
Which hotels have a pool with a view?
All four on this list. The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda's only pool is the spa's outdoor pool, facing the caldera, at €35 a person for a 90-minute circuit. Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel, has two rooftop infinity pools facing the Atlantic, charged extra. The heated rooftop pool at Bull Reina Isabel & Spa looks along Las Canteras to La Isleta. Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity's adults-only infinity pool, for 16 and over, stands at the resort's highest point and looks down the ravines to the sea and the dunes.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
