The catch at Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity
Five things stand between the photographs and the stay. None of them is hidden, and none of them undoes a quiet week of sun, treatments and golf, but each one changes how you plan it: the car, the rate, who comes with you, the golf and the month.

- Best quiet hotels in Gran CanariaA golf estate in the hills, quiet at night, with an over-16s pool
- Best hotels with a view in Gran CanariaCourse and mountains from the room, the sea from the infinity pool
It is a hillside resort with no beach and almost nothing within walking distance
The hotel stands inside the Salobre Golf estate in the hills north-west of Maspalomas, about 7 km in a straight line from the Faro. On foot you can reach the Spar supermarket at the estate entrance, 19 minutes from the door, and Casa Salobre, the hotel's Italian, a minute beyond it, and that is all. Meloneras beach is 15 minutes away by car, the Faro and the dunes 17, the port at Arguineguín 19. The nearest bus stop is 1.7 km away as the crow flies and served by one local line. The hotel runs a daily shuttle to Maspalomas beach but publishes no timetable, and a week of taxis to the coast and back adds up quickly.
What to do. Hire a car at the airport, 34 minutes away; the hotel has an underground car park with electric chargers. If you will rely on the shuttle, ask at reception for its times on the day you arrive and plan beach days around the last one back.
Spa entry is not part of every rate, and the circuit is sold by the visit
Be Aloe is the reason this hotel is in the edit: an 80°C Finnish sauna, bithermal showers, an oxygen-therapy cabin, an ice fountain and an outdoor Vitality pool with jets and bubble beds facing the course and the mountains, open daily from 11:00 to 19:00. It is not included in the standard room rate. On its own, a three-hour circuit is €35 a person, a 50-minute anti-stress massage €85 and the 90-minute Aloe Experience €139. The hotel also sells the entry room as the Double Deluxe with daily access to the Be Aloe Wellness, with up to three hours a day in the centre and the Vitality pool for guests aged 16 and over. For Tuesday 8 June 2027 it was €221 a night for two with breakfast, against €211 for the plain Double Deluxe.
What to do. If you will use the spa more than once, book the spa-access room: the supplement, €10 a night for two in June and €25 at Christmas, is less than a single circuit bought on its own. Reserve treatments and circuit times before you arrive.
The two signature pools are for over-16s, and the Sunset pool also takes day visitors
The Sunset infinity pool at the resort's highest point is adults-only (16 and over), and the Be Aloe spa limits access for under-16s, so a family with younger teenagers cannot count on either. Children have a playground with an indoor play area and a children's pool; there is no supervised kids' club, though the hotel can arrange a babysitter. The Sunset terrace is run by Grupo Támbara, which serves lunch to non-residents and sells them a day at the pool for €20 a person. The Bali beds beside it cost €40 a day, booked at reception, with a bottle of organic Privat cava. The Sunset bar opens from 12:00 to 19:00 every day, so from March until the clocks go back in late October it closes before the sun goes down.
What to do. With children under 16, plan your days around the main pools rather than the spa and Sunset. Book a Bali bed at reception early on the day you want one, and keep a sundown drink for the winter months, when the sun sets before the bar closes.
There are two golf courses, but the second is still a nine and green fees are extra on the standard rate
The Old Course, Roland Favré's 18 holes of 1999 and host of the 2006 Spanish PGA, is the main course. Ron Kirby's New Course of 2008, cut into the ravines, has been played as nine holes, par 36, and is due back to its full 18 holes in winter 2026/27, with no reopening date fixed yet. Golf is not in the standard rate: the 2025/26 winter list priced a green fee at €145, €94 at sunrise and €80 at twilight, and a buggy at €25. Every player needs a federation licence and a handicap of 28 or better for men, 36 for women, and the dress code bars denim, swimwear and sleeveless shirts.
What to do. If you will play most days, look at the Deluxe Room with Golf Included, sold for stays of seven nights or more: one green fee per person per day, except on arrival and departure days, with the buggy extra. For 8 June 2027 it cost the same as the plain Double Deluxe; for 17 November 2026 it was €199 a night more for two, less than two green fees on the winter list.
Winter is the high season, Christmas costs more than twice June, and the cheapest room disappears
This is winter sun, and the rates follow it. For one night for two with breakfast, the Double Deluxe was €211 on Tuesday 8 June 2027, €333 on 17 November 2026 and €506 on 29 December 2026. On 19 January and 16 February 2027 it was not on sale at all, and the cheapest room was the Double Deluxe Superior at €408 and €412, against €243 for the same room in June. In Holy Week, on 23 March 2027, only the 11th Floor rooms and the suites were left, from €455. From May to October the rates settle: €211 on 11 May, and €227 on 10 August and 19 October 2027.
What to do. If your dates are flexible, come in May, June or October. For Christmas, January, February or Easter, book early; in January, February and Holy Week, expect the Double Deluxe Superior or the 11th Floor to be the entry room.
Who should skip it
Anyone who wants to walk to a beach, a bar or dinner, and anyone who will not drive or pay for taxis. Also families with children under 16 who want the spa or the Sunset pool, golfers counting on 36 holes before the New Course has reopened, and anyone expecting June prices at Christmas or in February.
Who should book it anyway
Anyone who wants a quiet week of sun, treatments and golf. Rooms start at 42 m² with a furnished terrace or balcony, every rate includes breakfast, the Be Aloe circuit and its Vitality pool look over the course to the mountains, and the Sunset infinity pool looks down the ravines to the sea. Book the Double Deluxe Superior, or the spa-access room if the circuit is the point, hire a car, and come in May, June or October, when it is sensibly priced.
