Family bakery and café for breakfast · €
The main branch of a bakery family that has baked on Gran Canaria since 1982, in El Tablero, on the way down to Maspalomas. Everything is made on site, with a house sourdough kept for years and roll doughs rested up to 48 hours: rye and spelt loaves, baguettes and apple strudel, plus toasted baguettes and a Spanish-style breakfast to eat in. Mornings only: 7:30 to 14:00 on weekdays and 8:00 to 13:30 at weekends. Stop for coffee and a pastry on the way to the beach, or to stock a picnic.

A Galician marisquería in Playa del Inglés since 1985, and the place for shellfish done properly: Galician oysters and razor clams, percebes, carabinero on a bed of salt, grilled lobster, and soupy rices with carabinero or lobster for two or more. It also cooks the island's own fish, cherne and sama, when there is some; ask for the pescado del país. Open every day from 13:00 to 23:00, though it has closed for a summer holiday from early June to early July, so check before a June visit. Book, and expect seafood prices.

On the 8th floor of the Bohemia Suites & Spa in Playa del Inglés, reached by a panoramic lift from the street, with the Atlantic and the Maspalomas dunes in the windows and the sun going down over the mountains from the terrace. Atelier mixes cocktails around local producers; 360º, in the 2026 Guía Repsol, cooks a well-travelled seasonal menu with Canarian roots, with an €80 tasting menu and a cellar of more than 170 wines. A family bar on the beach at El Pajar since 1952, now in its fourth generation, and the place to eat Canarian food by the sea at local prices. Order the fish of the day, viejas or salmonetes, papas arrugás with mojo, gofio escaldao, fried octopus and chocos, or sancocho, the island's salt fish with potatoes, sweet potato and mojo. There are no reservations: take a number on arrival and follow your turn online from the beach. Open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 11:00 to 23:00 and Sunday 11:00 to 17:30; closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The fishermen's cooperative's own restaurant on the quay at Arguineguín, beside the fish market, and the plainest way to eat what the boats landed: fried fish of the day, grilled octopus and sardines, limpets with green mojo, seafood soup, gofio escaldado and papas arrugadas. Prices are local, the room is simple and the view is the harbour. It serves from 12:30 to 23:00 and closes on Monday and Wednesday, so ring ahead before a midweek visit. Weekends fill up, so arrive early.

Breakfast is included in every rate the hotel sells, and it is a buffet in SENS Kitchen Patio Garden, built on fresh produce from Gran Canaria and served on the patio by the vertical garden, with hot dishes, omelettes and crêpes cooked to order, and smoothies and juices. It runs until at least 10:30; ask at reception for the opening time. Half board, which adds dinner, was €34 a night more for two for 8 June 2027. The best outside option is Panadería Zipf in El Tablero, 14 minutes by car, from 7:30 on weekdays and 8:00 at weekends.
