Palmitos Park fills the Los Palmitos ravine inland of Maspalomas, about 10 km from the lighthouse, the listing says. It is a zoo and botanical garden of about 20 hectares, run by Aspro Parks, the group that also owns Aqualand Maspalomas. The garden is half the point: the park describes a palm collection gathered from around the world, a cactus garden with some very tall specimens, and an orchid house that it calls the largest collection of orchids in the Canary Islands, joined to a house of butterflies.

The animals are spread along paths through the planting. On the park's own species pages on 6 November 2026 were ring-tailed lemurs, capuchin and squirrel monkeys, lar gibbons, meerkats, an aviary of macaws and other parrots, pelicans, scarlet ibis, a lake with spectacled caimans and a lizard that the park says lives only on Gran Canaria, an aquarium, Aldabra giant tortoises and a Komodo dragon, which the GetYourGuide listing says is a first-generation captive-bred animal from Europe.

The day runs to the show timetable, and every show is in the ticket. On the park's site on 6 November 2026, birds of prey flew at 11:30 and 15:00, the exotic birds at 14:30, the dolphins at 13:30 and 16:00, and an interactive show ran at 10:30, 13:00 and 16:45; the aquarium and the butterfly and orchid house are open all day. The park opens every day from 10:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 17:00, and says it may change or cancel shows for safety or weather. Parking is free, and you may bring your own food and drink, but no glass.

Why this one

This is the park's standard day ticket. On GetYourGuide it was 39 euros on 6 November 2026, rated 4.7 from about 1,900 reviews, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before and booking up to 6 hours ahead. The park's own price list puts the adult ticket at 39 euros at the ticket office and from 35 euros online, a price that varies with the date you choose; children of 5 to 10 pay 29 euros at the office or from 25 online, children of 3 and 4 pay 15 euros, and under 3s go free. The park's online tickets cannot be changed or refunded. So if your date is fixed, the park's own shop is a few euros cheaper; if your plans might move, the free cancellation here is worth the difference. Families of four can also look at the park's online Family Pack, 118 euros for two adults and two children.

The nearest rivals are different days out. Cocodrilo Park in Agüimes, a smaller zoo known for its crocodiles, was 13 euros on GetYourGuide, rated 4.6 from about 1,400 reviews. Aqualand Maspalomas, the water park down the road, was 41 euros, rated 4.1 from about 1,700; the park's own 2 Parks Ticket covers both, at 62 euros for an adult, on different days. For fish, sharks and a cooler day in town, our Poema del Mar aquarium page covers the Las Palmas aquarium, at 29 euros and rated 4.8. For wild dolphins at sea instead, see our page on dolphin watching from Puerto de Mogán.

Good for

  • Families staying in Maspalomas, Meloneras or Mogán, 25 to 40 minutes away
  • A garden day away from the beach
  • Children who love birds of prey, lemurs and reptiles

Not for

  • Anyone who would rather not watch a dolphin show
  • Visitors who want to see wild dolphins: take a boat instead
  • A short stop: the shows are spread from 10:30 to 16:45

  • The gardens make it a calm, green walk, with many species visitors had not seen before

Complaints

    The catch

    1. Plan the day around the shows

Each show runs only once or twice a day: the dolphins at 13:30 and 16:00, the birds of prey at 11:30 and 15:00 and the exotic birds only at 14:30, on the park's timetable on 6 November 2026. The park says it may change or cancel a show for safety or weather.

What to do. Arrive by about 11:00, catch the 11:30 birds of prey, and build the rest of the day around the 13:30 dolphins and the 14:30 exotic birds.

    2. Book the Dolphin Encounter at 10:00

The Dolphin Encounter, more than 30 minutes with the dolphins and a trainer for up to 16 people, costs extra and cannot be booked in advance. The park reserves places inside the park, subject to availability, and recommends booking at 10:00.

What to do. If anyone in your group wants it, go straight to the booking point when the gates open.

    3. Bring the ticket on your phone

The park's ticket rules say you must show the mobile ticket or a printed PDF at the gate, and children's ages are checked by ID or a height gauge.

What to do. Download the GetYourGuide voucher before you leave the hotel, and carry an ID for each child.

    4. Bring a picnic and save money

The park allows your own food and drink, though not in glass, and its cafés and restaurant are open from 10:00 to 18:00.

What to do. Pack lunch and water in plastic bottles; a picnic in the gardens fits neatly between the morning and afternoon shows.

    5. Drive or take the bus: parking is free

The ticket does not include transport. The park's car park is free, and the park says Global line 45 runs from Bahía Feliz, San Agustín and Playa del Inglés and line 70 from Puerto de Mogán, Puerto Rico, Amadores and Faro de Maspalomas.

What to do. Check Global's timetable for your day before you set out; by car it is 24 to 26 minutes from the Maspalomas and Meloneras hotels in our edit.
