What we looked for

Adults-only on this list means a different age at each house: Can Cera takes no one under 14, Can Ferrereta adults and children over 14, Maristel Hotel & Spa guests of 16 and over, and L'Avenida Hotel calls itself adults-only. What they share is the setting. All four stand in a town or a village, Palma's old town, Sóller, Estellencs and Santanyí, rather than on a beach, so dinner and the evening walk happen in the streets around you.

The calendar decides the shortlist. Between late November and early March only Can Cera is open. From March, L'Avenida and Maristel suit walkers in the Tramuntana, and Can Ferrereta suits a week of coves and markets with a car. For a pool, choose Can Ferrereta, Maristel or L'Avenida; Can Cera has a spa you can reserve for yourselves instead.

Can Cera

Palma, old town, Mallorca

No guests under 14 and only 14 rooms, in an 18th-century noble house on Carrer de Sant Francesc, so the salons feel like a private house: a long oak table in the work room, a black marble bar in the red salon, and a library. The spa, a Finnish sauna, a steam room and a hot tub, can be reserved for the two of you at no extra charge, and loungers on the roof terrace look across the old town's rooftops.

It is the only one of these four open all year, which makes it the adults-only choice for a winter break, when rates fall to about half those of June. La Vermutería serves tapas every day until 22:30, and the cathedral is six minutes' walk away. For a swim, the city beach at Can Pere Antoni is 16 minutes on foot.

Signature Junior Suite at Can Cera: a bed with a teal throw, a television on a console, a framed portrait, a desk beyond and tall open doors with an iron balcony rail

Signature Junior Suite

45 m²€727 a night

45 m² with a private gallery looking into the planted courtyard and deep blue Mallorcan fabrics: as large as any room below the Suite Can Cera, and the courtyard comes with the category.

Every room, and why

Reserve the spa for a private session when you confirm the room; having the sauna, steam room and hot tub to yourselves costs nothing extra.

L'Avenida Hotel: The townhouse and its courtyard poolThe insider one

2 / 4

L'Avenida Hotel

Sóller, Mallorca

Adults-only, with 12 rooms in a townhouse of 1912 on Gran Via, a quiet street four minutes on foot from Sóller's main square. Mornings start in the courtyard garden, with breakfast by the pool and eggs cooked to order, and the bistro does lunch there too. Dinner is always in town: the staff will book your tables before you arrive, and Ca'n Boqueta, with its Bib Gourmand, is three minutes away.

Days out start on foot. The wooden tram to Port de Sóller leaves from in front of the station, five minutes away, and Biniaraix, where the stone path up the Barranc begins, is half an hour's walk. It opens from March to October, with a three-night minimum from May to September, so plan a few slow days rather than a weekend.

Luxury Suite

45 m²€456 a night

45 m² under the house's high original ceilings, with a four-poster king and the only roll-top baths in the house; the second-floor suite faces Puig Major across Gran Via.

Every room, and why

Let the hotel book your dinners before you travel, starting with Sunday and Monday, when fewer of Sóller's kitchens are open.

Maristel Hotel & Spa: Estellencs and its valley running down to the seaThe smart money

3 / 4

Maristel Hotel & Spa

Estellencs, Mallorca

For guests aged 16 and over: a four-star hotel of 56 rooms in Estellencs, a small stone village high on the west coast, two minutes' walk from the parish church. Over the village roofs, the outdoor pool and its bar face down the valley to the sea, sunset drinks are served on a terrace, and the spa adds a heated indoor pool with bubble loungers, a Finnish sauna and a Turkish bath. Dinner at the bistro starts at 19:00, with a five-course tasting menu from the chef, José Luis Adán.

The GR221 Dry Stone Route passes through the village for walkers, and the hotel keeps a bike workshop for cyclists. It is also the least expensive of our ten. Spa entry is a one-hour circuit booked at reception and comes with some rates, not all, so check whether yours includes it.

The room to book

Dreaming Sea

about 25 m²€199 a night

Big bay windows looking down the valley to the sea, a 210 cm king bed, a bath and a balcony in almost every room: the room the hotel builds around the sea.

Every room, and why

Ask for the king-size bed and a balcony when you book, since the category also comes with two singles.

Can Ferrereta: The 25-metre garden pool, the old house behindThe design one

4 / 4

Can Ferrereta

Santanyí, Mallorca

Adults and children over 14 only, and every one of its 32 rooms and suites is sold for two guests at most, so the house is laid out for couples and nobody at the pool or in the spa is under 14. Out in the garden, the 25-metre pool is tiled dark green like an old country reservoir, with Jaume Plensa's two-metre bronze head standing in the olive trees beside it, and the Sa Calma spa has a 10-metre heated indoor pool, a hammam and a sauna. Ocre, in the old wine cellar, serves dinner from 19:00 to 22:00, and its bar stays open until 23:00.

Santanyí is a working market town rather than a resort: the Wednesday and Saturday market is three minutes from the door, and Cala Santanyí is a 7-minute drive. The hotel opens from early March to late November.

Terrace Suite at Can Ferrereta: a four-poster bed with a pale canopy, a ceiling fan, a desk and arched glass doors with greenery outside

The room to book

Terrace Suite

45 to 50 m²€1,606 a night

A private garden with sun loungers and an outdoor shower, and a freestanding bath inside, so the afternoon is spent on your own loungers rather than the shared deck.

Every room, and why

Book your spa time ahead, because the Sa Calma spa takes reservations for everything, the heated indoor pool included.

Questions people ask

Good questions about Mallorca

What age is adults-only at Mallorca hotels?

It varies, so check the age before you book with a teenager. Can Cera takes no guests under 14. Can Ferrereta takes adults and children over 14, and sells every room for two guests at most, so a couple with a teenager needs two rooms. Maristel Hotel & Spa takes guests aged 16 and over. L'Avenida Hotel describes itself as adults-only. Elsewhere on our list, Castell Son Claret's spa and Sa Clastra are for 14 and over, and Voro at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel admits no one under 16.

Which adults-only hotels in Mallorca are open in winter?

Of our four, only Can Cera, in Palma's old town, is open all year, and November to February is its cheapest time, at about half the June rate. L'Avenida Hotel closes from November to the end of February. Maristel Hotel & Spa's last night of 2026 is 20 November and it reopens on 5 March 2027; Can Ferrereta's last night is 21 November, and it reopens on 4 March. Palma suits the winter: the cathedral, the markets and dinner are on foot, and January at the airport averages 15.2 degrees by day.

Which adults-only hotels in Mallorca have a pool?

Three of our four. Can Ferrereta has a 25-metre garden pool and a 10-metre heated indoor pool in its spa. Maristel Hotel & Spa has a small outdoor pool looking down the valley to the sea and a heated indoor pool in the spa. L'Avenida Hotel has a pool of 38 square metres in its courtyard garden, made for cooling off between walks. Can Cera has no pool, but its spa, with a sauna, a steam room and a hot tub, can be reserved for your sole use at no extra charge.

Which adults-only hotels in Mallorca suit walkers?

The two in the Serra de Tramuntana. From L'Avenida Hotel in Sóller, Biniaraix, where the stone path up the Barranc begins, is half an hour on foot, the tram runs to Port de Sóller and the train to Palma. At Maristel Hotel & Spa in Estellencs, the GR221 Dry Stone Route passes through the village, with Galatzó above it, and there is a bike workshop for cyclists. Both close for the winter: L'Avenida opens from March to October, and Maristel from early March to late November.

Can you stay at an adults-only hotel in Mallorca without a car?

Yes, at two of our four. Can Cera is about 18 minutes from the airport by taxi, EMT's A1 bus runs to central Palma for 5 euros, and everything in the old town is on foot. L'Avenida Hotel is 34 minutes from the airport, the hotel can arrange a Sóller taxi, and the train, tram and town are all within five minutes' walk. Maristel Hotel & Spa has the TIB 202 bus to Palma at its door, but the coast is best seen by car, and Can Ferrereta needs one for the coves.

How did you choose these hotels?

Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
