Tenerife South Airport transfers

Tenerife South is the airport for Costa Adeje and the west coast: six of our ten hotels are 20 to 31 minutes away by road. The buses and the taxi rank share Floor 0 outside arrivals, and the island's taxis run on an official meter rather than fixed fares. Here is every way out of the airport, where it leaves from, and the way we would reach each hotel if you land here.

The short answer

For our Costa Adeje hotels, take a taxi from the rank on Floor 0: about 20 minutes and about €35 on the day meter to Bahía del Duque. Line 40 from the same kerb runs every 30 to 40 minutes to Costa Adeje bus station for a fraction of that, but you will still need a taxi for the last stretch. For the hillside villas, Abama, Palacio de Isora and late landings, book a driver; for Puerto de la Cruz, Garachico or Buenavista, an hour away, hire a car or book a transfer.

  • TFSTenerife South (TFS). The island's holiday airport, serving Costa Adeje, Golf Costa Adeje and the Guía de Isora coast: Bahía del Duque is about 20 minutes away and Palacio de Isora 31.

Taxi fares from Tenerife South

There are no fixed airport fares: taxis run on the Canary Government's interurban meter, published in the Boletín Oficial de Canarias in March 2023. By day it is €3.85 for the first 1.5 km and €1.35 a km after that; from 22:00 to 06:00, on Sundays and on holidays it is €4.25 and €1.55. Every trip from the airport adds €2.10. On those rates, the 23 km to Bahía del Duque comes to about €35 by day and €40 at night. Take a taxi only from the signed rank on Floor 0, as Aena advises, and ask for a receipt.

Day (06:00 to 22:00, weekdays)
€3.85 first 1.5 km, then €1.35 a km
Night, Sundays, holidays
€4.25 first 1.5 km, then €1.55 a km
Airport supplement

To Bahía del Duque

Is there a bus from Tenerife South to Costa Adeje?

Yes. TITSA's line 40 leaves the stop on Floor 0 in arrivals every 30 minutes from 06:30, and every 30 to 40 minutes in the afternoon, until 21:40, seven days a week. It calls at Los Cristianos and ends at Costa Adeje bus station in 29 to 44 minutes. From there Bahía del Duque is 2.7 km, so plan on a short taxi. The four daily 343s make the same run in 20 minutes. No airport bus goes near Abama, Palacio de Isora, Royal River or Royal Garden Villas.

Landing late, or with children and luggage

The 711 night bus leaves for Costa Adeje at 23:18, 23:48, 00:17, 01:02, 01:37, 02:42, 03:22, 04:12 and 04:52. The taxi rank works through the night, on the higher night meter. A pre-booked driver tracks the flight and waits in arrivals with your name, and the price is fixed when you book, so a two-hour delay changes nothing. Tell them how many children and seats you need.

Staying in the north

About an hour by road: Hotel Botánico is typically 64 minutes away, Gran Hotel Taoro 67 and Hotel San Roque in Garachico 60. The 343 bus links the south to the north four times a day, reaching the Jardín Botánico stop in 85 minutes. If you can, fly into Tenerife North instead, 22 to 27 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz; if you cannot, a car or a booked driver is the comfortable answer.

Going back to Tenerife South

Line 40 from Costa Adeje bus station reaches the airport in 26 minutes, the first arriving at 05:56 and the last at 22:06. For an early flight, ask the hotel to call a taxi the night before, or book the return transfer with the outward one. Aena's advice is three hours before any flight to the UK.
