Oasis Wildlife began in 1985 as a plant nursery and a camel farm in La Lajita, on the main road between Costa Calma and Tarajalejo, and is now the island's zoo, set across a million square metres of what the park calls a real oasis. GetYourGuide's listing counts more than 3,000 animals of 250 species: giraffes, zebras, elephants, hippos, lemurs, crocodiles, flamingos and birds of prey among them. The park says its camel herd is the largest dromedary reserve in Europe, a claim Spain's tourist board repeats.
The ticket covers the zoo, the botanic garden and every educational exhibition. On the park's timetable, read on 26 October 2026, the sea lions appear at 11:30 and 15:15, the birds at 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30, and the reptiles at 12:20, 13:35 and 14:45; the park says times can change. The bird show is a 20-minute free-flight display of falcons, vultures, eagles and owls above the botanic garden, with the Atlantic behind. The garden itself covers 250,000 m², with more than 1,500 plant species, a cactus and succulent garden the park calls the largest in Europe, a reserve of Fuerteventura's native plants and five freshwater ponds for migrating birds. A free Ecotour train links the lot in about 45 minutes, stopping at the exhibitions.
The park opens every day from 09:00 to 18:00; GetYourGuide says you can enter at any time from 09:00 to 17:00. There are restaurants, a snack bar and picnic areas, and you may bring your own food. Two extras can be added to this ticket: the camel ride, 25 minutes on the park's own page, and the lemur experience, 20 minutes with the keepers in the lemurs' forest. Each costs 18 euros for adults and 12 for children on the park's own site. Closer encounters, swimming with the sea lions for 45 euros or the 90-minute giraffe and elephant mornings, are sold only by the park.
The park runs its own Oasis Bus from the main resorts every morning, with a stop at or near all ten hotels in our Fuerteventura edit. From most stops it needs no booking, but it is not free: the park's timetable of August 2026 says you buy the ticket online or pay at the ticket office on arrival, in cash or by card. Parking at the park is free.
Why this one
This is the park's own ticket at the park's own price: 41.50 euros for an adult on GetYourGuide and on the park's tariff on 26 October 2026. What GetYourGuide adds is flexibility. The park's own tickets must be bought at least the day before, and its rules say they are not refunded; this one can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before, paid later, and booked as little as eight hours ahead. It was rated 4.6 from about 3,900 reviews, the most reviewed Fuerteventura product we compared after the Morro Jable dolphin trip, and carries GetYourGuide's bestseller label.
Buy direct if you live in the Canaries, where the resident adult price is 23 euros, or for children and over-60s, whom the park's tariff puts at 27.50 euros (ages 4 to 11) and 38 euros. Staying in Corralejo with younger children and no wish to cross the island, Acua Water Park in Corralejo is the nearer family day, from 30 euros and rated 4.3 from about 900 reviews. In the south, the park pairs well with Dolphins, from the south, our boat trip from Morro Jable; in the north, Lobos, by catamaran is the day out on the doorstep.
Good for
- Families, with shows every hour around midday and food bags to feed the animals
- South coast stays: Costa Calma is 15 minutes away on the park bus
- A cloudy day off the beach
Not for
- A quick half day: the site is large and the shows run from 11:30 to 15:30
- Anyone who would rather not see camel rides or animal shows
- Corralejo stays short on time: the park bus takes about 90 minutes each way
When to go
What the middle of the day is like at the park, month by month, at 13:00, when the bird and reptile shows run. Temperature, cloud and rain are modelled for La Lajita from five years of historical weather.
| Month | Temperature | Clear sky | Rainy days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan | 22°C / 19°C | 54% | 7% |
| Feb | 22°C / 19°C | 48% | 9% |
| Mar | 22°C / 20°C | 58% | 10% |
| Apr | 23°C / 21°C | 54% | 7% |
| May | 24°C / 23°C | 51% | 2% |
| Jun | 26°C / 24°C | 59% | 1% |
| Jul | 28°C / 26°C | 83% | 0% |

| Nov | 25°C / 23°C | 54% | 6% |
| Dec | 22°C / 20°C | 55% | 10% |
Temperature is the median at 13:00, with the coolest day in ten after it. Clear sky is the share of days with little cloud at 13:00; rainy days, the share with 1 mm of rain or more.
Rain is rare, cloud is not
In the five years of weather we looked at, no month at La Lajita had rain on more than one day in ten, and from May to October it was one in thirty or fewer. Cloud is the commoner visitor: in October and February fewer than half of middays were clear. July and August are the clearest and the warmest, with a median of 28.1°C and 29.0°C at 13:00, so bring water and sunscreen.
From our Fuerteventura hotels
Drive times are routed to the park entrance on the Jandía road at La Lajita, where parking is free. The park's own Oasis Bus stops at all ten hotels in our edit, at the door or a named stop, with no booking except at El Mirador; it costs extra. On the park's timetable it leaves Costa Calma and Sotavento at 10:10 (about 15 minutes), Esquinzo at 09:15 or 10:35 (20 minutes), the Jandía hotels at 09:00 to 09:15 or 10:20 to 10:35 (30 minutes), Caleta de Fuste at 09:25 (45 minutes) and Corralejo at 08:40 to 09:00 (90 minutes). It returns at 16:00 or 17:00 to the south and 16:30 to the north.

What guests keep saying
Recurring themes in the tour’s reviews, in our words, never quoted.
Praised
- Animals that look healthy, in roomy, clean enclosures
- The sea lion and bird shows, short and lively, are the most praised part of the day
- Feeding the giraffes and camels with the food bags sold on site
Complaints
- A big site with confusing signs, so a lot of walking
The catch
Book the camel ride with the ticket
The camel ride is not in the basic ticket. It is an option on this listing, and the park's own site sells it at 18 euros for adults and 12 for children, to be reserved at least a day ahead. Rides leave about every 20 minutes from 09:30 to 16:00, and your time is given at the ticket office. Riders must weigh under 120 kg, and the park has a scale.
What to do. Choose the camel option when you book, and go to the ticket office first thing to get an early ride.
The lemur experience is a visit, not a cuddle
The park describes 20 minutes in the lemurs' forest with their keepers, learning how they live while the lemurs watch you closely. It is a close look rather than contact: the lemurs are not handled.
What to do. Book it for the keepers and a close look. If hands-on matters, the park's 45-euro sea lion swim, from age 7, is the closer encounter.
Plan the day around the shows
The shows are included and are the part reviewers praise most, but they run at fixed times: sea lions at 11:30 and 15:15, birds at 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30, reptiles at 12:20, 13:35 and 14:45 on the park's timetable. During the bird show you may not leave your seat without staff permission.
What to do. Start with the sea lions at 11:30, then work through the botanic garden to the birds, and use the free Ecotour train to cross the site.
From the north, it is a long ride
The park bus takes about 90 minutes from Corralejo, leaving between 08:40 and 09:00 and returning at 16:30. By car it is a routed 75 to 79 minutes from our three Corralejo hotels. From Costa Calma the bus takes about 15 minutes, from Jandía about 30.
What to do. Staying in Corralejo, drive or take the bus and make a full day of it; from the south, the 10:10 bus from Costa Calma is the easy option.
Keep your bus ticket for the ride home
The Oasis Bus is no longer free. The park's timetable says you can pay online or at the ticket office on arrival, in cash or by card, and that you need the ticket again for the return journey. At El Mirador, the airport, Lajares and Las Playitas, the stop must be confirmed in advance.
What to do. Pay when you arrive, keep the ticket on your phone or in your pocket, and confirm the stop the day before if yours needs it.
Wear closed shoes
The GetYourGuide listing asks for comfortable, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen. The paths are partly sand, and the site is large: reviewers mention a lot of walking.
What to do. Bring water and a hat, pick up the park map at the entrance, and hire one of the park's wooden carts instead of a pushchair for small children.
